TWSitD saw Byleth as a threat to them. They knew that the only way to get to him outside of the church was through revenge, so that's why they chose to kill Jeralt.

As I mentioned earlier in the topic, even though Edelgard was not directly responsible for Jeralt's death, she failed to tell anyone about who Monica truly was, and thus, was responsible indirectly.

Oh yes. Edelgard should just tell everybody about those who slither in the dark. The guys who have her father under their control, control their whole realm, control her and force her to do stuff she doesn't like. What could possible go wrong if she just tell everybody about them? It's not like they can threat her to nuke the whole capital or anything like that... oh wait. They can. Edelgard has absolutelly no power to opose them at this point.

There's some weird stuff in FE as well, I remember in the italian version of Awakening Cherche was randomly changed to Zelcher (which is not remotely close to anything similar to a name in italian) and Lon'Qu was Lon'Zu, the hell? Sometimes I think it's just some bored localization guy that just wants a twist in his day really.

Zelcher and Lon'Zu were the names in whole Europe, not just Italian. So that was a shared decision by Nintendo of Europe most likely. Her Japanese name ist Serge and is spelled Seruju. So from Seruju Cherche and Zelche are close. Cherche isn't a real name either, or?

This except for Pokemon. Imo no amount of localization will top the name changes in that franchise. Still bugs me with games like FE though. But Pokemon is the absolute worst offender.

Eh... for Pokemon the reasons are pretty clear WHY they do it. They want the puns in the names working for all involved languages. You can't compare that to FE. Would you prefer it if Bulbsaur was called Fushigidane? Who would understand the pun behind it?

If what one of the posts that stated he broke an NDA is true, that's probably why the cast was announced early. Worth noting that someone on another site pointed out his apology being posted right before the rest of the cast revealed themselves on Twitter, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Nintendo ninjas are involved and why there is no announcement of M!Byleth's voice actor. This is really unfortunate timing.

Annoucned early? It was exactly one week before release. It was a great marketing campaign. I don't think Chris has anything to do with this. People here are way to suspisious. Yes he isn't the nicest guy, but currently it doesn't seem like he did anything illegal or anything. Just some accusations and claims. Even if, there is no prove he leaked anything or that he wanted to be in the game only for smash.

Looking at IGN's support chart, the majority of same sex supports end with B and opposite sex ends with A. Exception to this is Byleth who A ranks with all same sex and S ranks all opposite sex. With Byleth being a mute and everything else being voiced, maybe voice acting costs are behind this?

Personally not too thrilled about everyone being Bylethsexual especially since, from what we've seen, they're hardly a character. Crossing my fingers in hopes that one of the free updates includes S ranks for our units. Wishful thinking I know, but I can dream 😋

Again. Only Byleth being able to S Support doesn't mean they are Byleth sexual. Also there are some supports which require more steps to rise them, which means they need three supports to get Rang C for exemple. So actually there are sometimes more scenes. Also it's just realistic that not everybody goes well around with everybody.

Man, I'm really disappointed with the fact only Byleth can S support. That is just so off putting. Why even include S supports in this case? I always enjoyed pairing other people up more than the avatar character. I would even be okay with limited S supports, as I like canon couples. Oh well. I was going to marry Dimitri, but I think I'll just keep everyone only at A supports. It feels weird to let Byleth marry but no one else. Unless if it's true that Sothis and Rhea supports are platonic?

Who sais Canon couples aren't in? They don't need S supports to make couples canon.

And M!Byleth has also been presented as the ”main” or ”true” self-insert protagonist. He definitely appears more often in trailers than F!Byleth. And his relationship with Edelgard got more emphasis than his relationship with other two lords, or the relationship between F!Byleth and Edelgard. In fact we seldom see F!Byleth in the trailer, and she is overshadowed by the M!Byleth in the promotion period.

Marketing =/= Canon. Assassin's Creed Odyssey focused A LOT on the Male protagonist in marketing. But in written books, so the canon in the books, the female main character is the canon choice

I have mixed feelings about this. It is nice to see a female lord as the main highlight in a FE game but showing favoritism in a game marketed as your choice matter kind of defeat the point of making your choice in my opinion but if the reviewer said the existence of the fourth route doesn't undermined the other routes, I hope that it is so.

Your choices still matter. Even MORE if you have more choices. A fourth route inside another route proves another choice that matters

as i already said, if this is a black eagles-thing only, this is pretty dumb

why would i even bother playing other routes, if they're not the "correct" ones anyway?

Who says the 4th route is the correct one?

  10. So Claude will totally be a scheming guy and not as happy friendship worshipper as he claims to be. "Schemes? Me? I have no Idea what you're talking about, I'm playing fair and square as ever!" This line is sooo suspicious. Especially with this: "He is charming and easygoing, but is also strangely secretive about certain subjects."
