Why do people ship Edlegard and Byleth?
Sid Starkiller replied to AvatarofDiscord's topic in Fire Emblem: Three Houses
In spite of the fact that she can't swim and is terrified of the ocean. But I doubt they care about details like that.- 106 replies

Considering the pope herself is apparently bi, I can't imagine she would have a problem with it. And if she did, Mommy would just tell her to shut her mouth.- 106 replies

About Randolph in Azure Moon

Revenge makes you dumb. There's probably a TVTropes page along that effect. EDIT: Found it: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RevengeBeforeReason -
Just how popular is Edelgard?
Sid Starkiller replied to Von Ithipathachai's topic in Fire Emblem: Three Houses
I impression I got was that, in spite of the central gimmick of choosing your house, there must be some classes that everyone goes through at once. All three lords seem to have some level of rapport with every teacher, and if you don't take a class with a teacher, why bother befriending them? -
Why do people ship Edlegard and Byleth?

Not "and", "or". Skip any one step and CF is denied you. If you don't get Edelgard's supports, you don't get the option to go to Enbarr (she'll instead tell you she's going without inviting you). If you don't go to Enbarr with her, you don't get the option to spare her (the options are "Kill her" or "...", as if hesitating without actually joining her). So yeah, SS is default.- 106 replies

I'd like to agree, but I've seen enough forum posts amounting to "WTF I wanted to join Edelgard and the game won't let me!?" to know that it's easily missable. If a person is bored enough of the monastery sections, they won't think to talk to Edelgard in February for the cutscene, and then they're screwed.- 106 replies

The trouble with popularity polls is that not every fan is going to see them. And if there's multiple polls, and different fans vote in different polls, you'll get wildly different results between them. For example, I've seen MANY "favorite Ninja Turtle" polls over the years, and every time, the turtle in the lead is different from the last poll (about the only consistent thing was that they were all roughly even, varying by only 1-2%). -
Why do people ship Edlegard and Byleth?

Well what other answers where you expecting? He asked why people ship it. Who you ship is a subjective matter, so of course he'll get subjective answers.- 106 replies

Why do people ship Edlegard and Byleth?

Aside from then fact that THERE IS NO CANON ROUTE (or ship), you also have a lot more time to get Edelgard's supports up to A than you do Rhea. Edelgard you only need up to C+ before Ch11, and given how many chances you have to get points with her in cutscenes alone, that's not difficult at all. Rhea on the other hand needs B before Jeralt's death, AND A before the end of Part 1. And since she isn't playable and thus can't be your backpack for support points, you have to bury her with gifts to make it in time.- 106 replies

That's the nature of avatars. To continue the Dorothea example, in her B support she jokingly propositions M!Byleth just to get a reaction from him. While the character onscreen didn't react, I certainly did.- 106 replies

Dropping the joke for just a minute: EVERY ending is good. The Crest system is either torn down or reformed, and Fodlan is united under one ruler (whether Edelgard, Dimitri, or Byleth) to lead to a golden age. I'm not speaking another word on the subject because we don't need ANOTHER thread getting derailed.
