  1. Christine is good, though. One of two units with crossbows, and horse access. You didn't use her, so she didn't do well, but she is not a purely utility unit and will hold her own very well between her very good prf and free permanent recruitment, and decent base crossbow skill. A unit does not have to be better than anyone else to be good. They can fill a part on a team, so even if they are suboptimal, they work and do their job.
  2. There's only a few units in FE who are truly burdens-Roy, Wendy, Amelia, Meg, Leonardo, to name a few. Most everyone else has a purpose that they can fulfill throughout the game. I still feel that Tradequipping is quite broken and should be nerfed or limited to some units. Like, a merchant-ish class or thief or something, or a prf skill for certain units, or an item that allows items to be traded. Also, mercenary units in FE when, IS?
  3. Because you are still awake. If Ferdinand becomes a wyvern lord, is he a Ferdinand von Flaegir? (Also, is Ferdinand dead after ch. 15, I really can't tell. He didn't do the death animation IIRC, so I think he retreated???)
  4. Not every unit needs to be amazing. Not being amazing does not mean not useful or not useable. Not to mention that SD and FE12, (as well as FE6 to some extent) frequently hand you prepromotes and good units to use. If they're chocking a point, though. Yes, it was a bad example, but the point stands. It also makes skills such as Prepared really helpful-Which gives units a niche. That's just a taste thing, then. I don't think you should be able to use the best items multiple times every turn, personally, but I'm probably wrong.
  5. Tankier than Nephenee, so he'd have to do that job. I am not justifying ambush spawns, I am saying that games should be designed around losing your best units. The game isn't designed around you having every single amazing unit in the game or making specific decisions. You get many, many units. You have all the resources needed to complete the game. It means that each weapon does its thing-Lances in berwick would be broken if you could just trade them around, for example. Or being able to use Thysrus multiple times every turn, but also removing a shield-I can use weapons without any of the problems with the weapon. Things such as weapon wieght, place in the weapon triangle, being too good for the situation, effectiveness against units, etc. FE also has done ambush spawns for a long time now, yet it still isn't a good mechanic. I mostly have a problem with things like being able to use Thysrus about 3 or 4 times every turn and the like. Yes, but I think it should be limited, at least. Maybe the secondary item slot, (rings, shields, etc.) can't be traded or something. I dunno, just being able to completely circumvent any problem a given item to use is a bad thing IMO. Such as, again, using Thysrus then swtching to a silver shield.
  6. So that what you attack with and have equipped actually matters-I dislike being able to attack using a really heavy and powerful weapon but not having to deal with the drawbacks of using it.
  7. The point stands that there isn't always going to be good units upon good units. If Haar dies, you lose a tanky flier. Nobody else will be as tanky as Haar as easily as he does it. Say he dies in part 2, even. Then Brom becomes really important-He is the only tank you'd have in Elincia's gambit. The things that each unit can do become more important. Those games are designed around losing units. Even if ambush spawns suck, it would be much easier to ironman Shadow dragon H3 blind than Three Houses with no Divine pulse. It doesn't make you spend several hours to make Pegasus-chan an archer, though. To me, it matters little about that though, since any good class path will make any unit good. Lysithea kicks butt as a warrior between Axefaire, Deathblow and class buffs to strength, for example. She didn't proc strength once before she was level 18, and she was still able to ORKO a large portion of enemies. Ingrid would probably want to master Death Blow if she is to be a fighting unit, though. Her strength can be easily repaired. I don't disagree about customization, but I'd rather see that by either having DSFE reclassing or many units. TH's system is just very cumbersome and slow. I agree that prep is a bit clunky in Berwick. I think that trading equipped weapons shouldn't be a thing once in combat, though. As for the next FE: As long as it's designed to be ironman friendly and has actually good gameplay, I don't particularly care how they do it.
  8. I like the modification to the title, not gonna lie. It actually makes sense. This is the final Teehee, then!
  9. But if you're playing, say, FE10 and kill off Aran and Tauroneo because Haar can tank, what happens if Haar dies? Haar may be the best of the three, but Aran and Tauroneo could both have done it too-They aren't really expendable. What they can do becomes valuable. Wade becomes good if you need a powerful One-shot archer or axeman, for example. tbh the only really ironman friendly games are FE3, 11, 12 and somewhat 6. FE8 has a tiny cast, FE7 is weird in how it gives you units, FE10's army system and game over conditions are wack, and FE16 is basically impossible to ironman. (I think that FE5 is also ironman friendly, as long as you're not playing blind.) I really hope they don't keep the class system and customization-I feel like every unit is basically the same more-or-less anyways, and it makes actually designing good difficulty really hard. I don't mind class trees or reclassing a la DSFE, but please no more TH-like stuff...
  10. I agree, but I hope they Let you see what people will learn And don't do it the way TH did it-I'd rather have it associated with level than proficiency I doubt that they'll ever go back to old FE, though and will keep it as proficiency. I'm probably the only one sad about that.
  11. Would like Canada, because we have ice and cream for 365 days a year. Ninja'd me.
  12. I guess I just have an ironman mindset-You won't always have good units around, so you have to use the merit that each unit has.
  13. Ch. 20 Ilia, I believe. Also, use Juno! Save every stat booster for her!
  14. Well no, do whatever you want. Yoder's merely decent, much like many of the lategame prepromoted counterparts of units you get. Good enough, but their trained unpromoted versions will be much better once trained.
  15. I'd say that every unit, barring the very worst, have merit. Only Wendy is truly completely useless. Sophia is close, but she can work eventually.
  16. Why do people like combat arts, actually? They haven't really made a difference yet in TH. I refuse to use Divine pulse! I AM A MASOCHIST!
  17. I am sold, let me kill the avatar. Please. It is unironically a good idea, though. This is extremely late, but I'd argue that she already is like this-She constantly talks about Mark in her mode, and her death quotes always mention them. Mark really drags her down as a character already, honestly.
  18. I disagree, but I don't think we're gonna see eye-to-eye here, so I'll drop it.
  19. I'm not sold on combat arts yet-Not saying they're bad, but they've yet to make an impression on me, personally. I really am a boomer at heart.
  20. OOOOOF I'm so sorry... Banned because water is great for fishing.
  21. Knows that What's up: Balloon to the rescue is a great movie.
