  1. Ahh, trying to comfort someone over the internet is so difficult. In real life you can just be there to listen and that can be enough but online it's a delicate balance between not giving empty affirmations and making the problem about you. I don't imagine it would be particularly enjoyable but it does sound like it would be interesting which is really all the motivation I need to give it a try. Case in point, while getting piercings definitely isn't the most enjoyable thing in the world, it is a very interesting feeling and that was at least half the reason I got piercings. Imagine if you could just fucking waltz into the doctors office like it was a retail store, do some tests, and boom get the medicine.
  2. My friends, the clinic got back to me and we finally set up an appointment about a month from now Took more than two months of contacting them, answering questions, and now I finally have an appointment for diagnosis. ...And that's just the first hoop I have to go through to get medicated. From what I hear, alcohol is at it's best when it's combined with other things so I'd probably go for something other than just a regular beer. I almost had my chance in Guatemala but that was a month before I turned 18. I honestly think society as a whole would be much better if we all just accepted that everyone is a little weird sometimes.
  3. I'm looking forward to being able to drink just because I am endlessly curious on what it's like to be drunk. But that's just for one life experience, on the other hand I am afraid I would become addicted to it because of how my brain will latch onto to anything to increase dopamine. You too, mate! Too true, the difference between how I speak in text versus actual live conversation is staggering. Remember, acknowledging that you have privilege is significantly different from just ignoring your problems all together. You can be an activist for the impoverished of the world while still taking care of yourself. A Fire Emblem fan out in the wild? I thought we only existed on the internet and nowhere else! Fecking tell me about it. The day I learned about my ADHD was both the happiest and saddest day of my life. You're telling me the decades of self-loathing for being unable to apply myself to do or finish anything was in fact a mental illness and not my personal fault and I just have to live with that now?
  4. The clinic still hasn't got back to me. I'm having those moments now where I can't fucking sleep because I'm too tired to which makes no sense but it's the only way I can describe it. The scar is from the last time he shaved. They're communicating for their eventual takeover.
  5. Well well, look at you. And here was I just making vodka breweries.
  6. Holy shit This is truly the peak of CDI memes. What year is it, 2010?
  7. Wait I'm too lazy to read back, what's going on. CDI Spiritual successor? Doth mine eyes deceive me?
  8. My stance on it is, depends on the game. If it's like Shadow Dragon where the story is mostly directed at the main cast, then I will gladly take a gimmicky silly character. But if it's like Three Houses where it's a very character centered game, then I wouldn't care as much. At this time more than writers need to strike for it to truly be effective, but damn it all is it hard to get that many people to actually do it. We need to bring back labor union songs.
  9. Holy shit, Ilyana! I can't believe you're here! No seriously, how are you here, you died, I saw you die. Expect a similar joke every time a dead character from my PoR run comes back For a kid that looked 14 in Path of Radiance, he sure looks in his mid 20s despite it being only three years. Uh, yeah this character died within 14 seconds of appearing in my PoR playthrough so this is like my first time learning anything about them. Already I like them. How the hell did I manage an ironman playthrough of Awakening. In my defense, that archer had like a 20% chance to hit. Playing on the big screen is fun until you realize it makes taking screenshots and saving states a bit of a hassle, plus the gamecube controller is the most finicky thing on the planet so I think I'll just go back to keyboard controls. Thanks generic merchant character. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another round of "Does this evil guy fuck or not?"
  10. Though my mother also speaks fluent Spanish, so it was mostly the schools.
  11. My dad's side of the family were the ones who mostly around during my birth and early years, so it was mostly Spanish being spoken. Losing the language was a combination of my parents getting divorced which caused a temporary family rift and me living with my English speaking mother for my remaining years and going to English schools that wanted me to speak English.
  12. I'm surprised I never thought to do this before, but I realize I can hook up my computer to my TV and play Radiant Dawn as it was intended on the big screen. Spanish is odd as since it was my first language that I forgot how to speak growing up, when I listen to it I have the strange feeling like I understand it psychologically but not literally, if that makes any sense.
  13. Fun fact: When my brother was playing Three Houses for the first time he tried to name Byleth "Professor" but the character limit couldn't handle it so he just called her Profefe. There was a fuss about that? How strange...
  14. It was a pleasure fighting with the linked brigade. Seriously though, that was really fun for what was basically my second Ironman playthrough in any FE game.
  15. Man when I finally play that game it's really going to be something. I planned to play it after I'm done with most of the Fire Emblem games but my plans always have a way of going astray so it could happen sooner rather than later if I feel up it. I played PoR at the tail end of last year if you recall, after that I played Three Houses, took an FE break, and am back again with Radiant Dawn. I was expecting a much longer timeskip with the plot surrounding some unrelated new conflict but this was a pleasant surprise. Crimson Flower ...Huh Yeah I don't have any words that's just... what the fuck.
  16. Ready Vague difficulty settings...my old enemy. A silver haired maiden you say? Are these the same gray skies that made the oceans gray waves? First fucking chapter of the game and I already can't keep myself from referencing other Fire Emblem games. Another Fire Emblem, another talk about the socio-economic factors that cause people to turn to crime. I... refuse... to... say it! You...! Cannot... make me...!! Holy shit she speaks cursive. D-Did... Did Micaiah just fucking crit in the first battle I orchestrated? Props for the writers for waiting at least 45 minutes into the game before making this joke Honest to god love the post-war period of this game. My favorite type of stories or settings is when we're in the post-war era of a nation and we have to see how it affected the people. So many other stories have it so "Oh jolly, the war ended so everything is okay now" when it could be so much more complicated and interesting than that. Fighting age? Why not throw in the children as well like back in the Industrial days! Having white hair is just really significant in Fire Emblem, huh? That's kind of interesting, I wonder why that is. So you're telling me... that there was a Fire Emblem game about a rag tag group of rebels fighting against imperial occupation and nobody told me? Can't wait to see how they mess this one up Buddy, let me tell ya. Hey! Hey! It's the guy! ...The guy with the beard! Isaiya is far too cool of a name to be wasted on a one-note boss like this. There was at least an argument for Quetzalcoatl being white but this is just ridiculous!
  17. Yeah basically. Is there a word for simp but for non sexual reasons and instead national imperial reasons? Oh, right, nationalist. ...Well no but that would've been even more fitting. Gran Colombia rolls of the Spanish tongue so damn well, and I don't even know how to speak Spanish anymore. ¡magnífico! I'd play that Fire Emblem game.
  18. Punished for my gaming heresies, eh? Well on your way you'd best be prepared, Spaniard, I'll whip you harder than Simón Bolívar did in the Latin American wars of independence. ...Not that we weren't also super religious in post-colonial Latin America or even before colonial America Waifu? Heh, hardly. She extends beyond that as one of the greatest revolutionary minds of our era!! Long live the Empress! But really I just thought it would be fitting for what I plan to do a little later.
  19. I've really missed the color red. I forgot to welcome you to the thread, so... welcome to the thread!
  20. So uh... Those with less defense on my team are a little...in a bind. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER BROUGHT THEM HERE THIS IS ALL MY SINS COME TO DRAG ME DOWN TO HELL WITH THEM Thank god Orochi finished before her linked counterpart died. I've never felt like this image more in my life TAKE REVENGE FOR THE FALLEN MY DAUGHTER, KILL THEM ALL Owain, with the duel strike, lands the final blow. ...Well I don't know who else is gonna do it. I've actually never witnessed the final cutscene if Chrom does it because it's just so narratively unsatisfying to do so, but I've been skipping the story all this time so might as well. I'd like to formally apologize for all the people I've killed as I believe I'm the one with the highest body count. ...Phew boy, I hope I didn't just softlock the rest.
  21. There are endless on enemy phase reinforcements every single turn so pretty much the only reliable strategy I can think of is war of attrition until we get to Grima That or move Gaius and Chrom up there immediately and hope they get REALLY lucky on their skills and criticals.
  22. Here goes nothin' Well I've never done a 1 HP run before but I'm open to the idea I'm just now realizing that if Poundmaker has to be in the battle it will significantly complicate things
