  1. You know, going only on 4-E (and hence, average stats) makes Pelleas look pretty cool. He hits pretty much all of his (poor) Archsage caps. And he's shoehorned into Tibarn's group, which is probably the best group to level up any second tier stragglers (ohai dawn brigade) left after Part 3.

    ...'course, it's not like it makes him any better. He's still pretty dire.

Just chirping in again, but if you try to get Lehran by making Ike fight the BK (27 Speed minimum), there's no way 20/20/1 Aran can double him, even if he does get Speed blessed to make his Halbeilder cap. Unless you give him the Speedwing after he becomes a Lancer/Sentinel, but he's still 1 point off doubling a 27AS Ike, as I recall. Silly Americans and your silly differing translations.

  3. Dark magic users shouldn't be called Shamans/Druids. Shamans/Druids are nature lovers. Go play ANY other game with Druids (hell, open a dictionary), they're nature loving hippies that have like a 95% chance of being able to turn into an animal.

    Some of the older lords used Magic, iirc. And a lot of hacks have them, too :) Also; they still can't balance two or three tiers, don't go begging for a fourth n.n

    If there going to make a new Fire Emblem game I would like to see Fire Emblem 4 for DS. The best new features could include the ability to customize your main lord (something i`ve always wanted), where you set their growths and can pick 2 of their final weapon abilities (up to A rank). Third-tier promotions would be a major improvement. Example: Sage Levin - Archsage Levin.

    You know, asking for a remake of FE4, then asking for something that would violate the spirit of FE4 is... not a good idea.

    Also; Ewan and Amelia are like Est? How?

  4. Featured only in Radiant Dawn (unless it has popped up in one of the Famicom/Super Famicom games), giving anyone who has Staves the ability to attack in 1-range while they're equipped.

    I'd prefer to keep them out of the system; while using them as weapons doesn't take up uses (?), staff users have pitiful Str (unless you're named Ilyana) and the staves have low Mt, so you'll do 0 damage with pretty high Crit and Hit. And it stops you from counter-attacking with Magic (if you use a promoted class to do so), so it ends up encouraging one to use other Healers as opposed to letting a Sage take over heal duties once they get a new class.

    So. Opinions?

    Also; pretty sure Lott and Wade aren't that bad. Lott's got a beastly defence growth.

    I think that it's mostly the characters, not the class itself :/ Need more FE10 Brigand growths, I think. Plus, Berserker's innate crit bonus > bows, since you'll use Hand Axes/Tomahawks over bows to avoid getting attacked at close range.

    According to her (PoR) average stats, she comes 12.4 away from capping HP, so it's plausible with a Seraph Robe; 1.6 within capping Str, so that's definitely plausible; lolno Mag; 0.05 capping Skill, so that's almost certain; 2.05 from capping Speed, so that's another one; Luck has no chance, 3.15 from capping Defence, so that's possible; and Res is too far off to cap.

    I'd say simply Elincia's average stats normally >>> Jill, but I'd like to see which stats are being capped beforehand before I make judgements.

Just a comment from the peanut gallery, but most of the units left are pretty decent - Ena/Kurthnaga turn 4-E-3 into a joke with a bit of favouritism (especially on NM, since you can give one of them a Laguz Stone/Gem and watch them eat the Generals, even if it takes a while), Volke wields the SS knife reasonably well, Nasir has White Tide and Pelleas is forced into Tibarn's group and thus 4-5, where anyone who didn't take Tibarn (or any flying unit, really) has the joy of being able to gather a little bit of EXP on the side.

    Whatever, though.

  8. 1) What? No, she does; most units promote by Chapter 17-ish (at Level 20, mind you). She appears in Chapter 9 at Level 1 and only wields staves with tiny durability. There is no way, even if she does heal 1HP every turn, that she is going to reach level 20 without having a lot of BEXP pumped into her or without being babied; don't forget, she's competing with Rhys for heals and if you get Ilyana/Soren/Tormod (harhar) promoted beforehand, Mist becomes obsolete as the Sages will heal more with a Heal staff then she will with Mend before she promotes. As such, she'll have to promote in the mid-tens (if she reaches that high) with a Master Seal - this is, of course, assuming nobody else wants it.

    Or, at least. This is what happens in my experience.

    2) The Arms Scrolls have their uses, especially if you're using units who come in under levelled with low Weapon ranks (...kinda like Mist, really) and the magic swords have... what, 20 uses each? One of them comes on Tanith, who'll want to use it once or twice since she has a pretty good bid for them. And I believe there are two Magic swords (Runesword/Sonic Sword. Am I missing one?), with the second one coming in a chapter or two before Endgame.

  9. Yeah, but he starts near the other dudes. Ilyana gets about 18 CEXP for killing him on Normal Mode, and I'm pretty sure that's one of the most efficient ways for him to contribute to game completion.

    ...18 CEXP to a mediocre unit = contributing damage throughout all the Dawn Brigade chapters, and being almost invincible in 3-13 (only tigers damage him iirc), assuming he caps Defence?

  10. I save all of my BEXP until before the final level starts (then again, I'm playing on easy so I don't need to use it until then).

    I'm pretty sure you've claimed that you thought FE10HM was easier then FE9EM, though. :/

    Also; I normally BEXP Sothe to Level 20, too. I hate using him, since he's pretty crappy.
