  1. I assume most people here preserve their best weapons and don't seek to instantly use, say, a Silver Blade (which can be obtained in chapter 15 of PoR) or the Uber Spear immediately. Do you place it in your storage until late in the game, then pull it out and use it?

I preserve my weapons a little too much at times - indeed, sometimes I don't ever use the better weapons (I intended to give Oswin the U-Spear. Ended up not using it at all). Does anyone else have this problem, assuming we all use these 'better weapons' and preserve them?

  2. Games can't hate people.

-Might be a tad hard to understand for people who have never seen Yu-Gi-Oh before-

The cloesst I've ever come to being hated by a game is Yu-Gi-Oh: Nightmare Troubadour for the DS. Opponent has Needle Wall in play (At the beginning of your turn, roll a die. If it's 1-5, destroy the opponent's monster in that 'zone'. It it's six, roll again). In Nightmare Troubadour, when you summon a monster, it automatically goes into the the 3rd monster zone. So the duel goes something like this (after Needle Wall is active and his monsters are stronger then mine).

    Allan - Plays monster.

Foe - Needle Wall rolls a 3. Destroys monster, then his monsters remove a quarter of my life points.

    Allan - Plays monster.

    Foe - Needle Wall rolls a 3.

    etc.

Now that my semi-off topic talk is out of the way, I will say that if you cannot complete this game because your units die so often, then you are almost as bad as I was in my first playthrough, in which Vaida was my strongest unit ¬_¬

  3. And I'm assuming that they did not fix the Tower Of Guidance because it is spoken aloud. I doubt that they would bring thee voice actor back in to fix a small continuity error.

On a side note - There are glitches with Pass but they don't happen if the player doesn't want them to, due to the circumstances.

  4. You are referring to the wrong conversation. In chapter 10, if Lethe is alive, there will be a base conversation where Ike will talk to Lethe about the knife they she carries. She will then state what Chiki/Bianchi said in a nutshell. Hence you were 'wrong', as you were not referring to the correct evidence to prove the point. Although the word 'wrong' would be the incorrect word to use for that occasion. 'Not quite' would be a better term to suit the situation.

  5. But if the Brand usually doesn't manifest itself until a few generations later, that makes Soren exceptional even among the Branded.

We don't know Ashnard's side of the family. While it is true he slept with a dragon, he could have had the Branded gene from his own family before him if this is true. Don't forget, I believe that during PoR, they claim Ashnard was extraordinarily powerful even before he had goddess-blessed armour and possibly before he was wielding his unique sword - if he really was so strong, there is a possibility he had some laguz blood inside him, but maybe he didn't have the Brand.

This asks the question; if Ashnard was Branded (or to be more accurate, he had laguz blood but might have not had the mark) then why would a dragon have slept with him? Firstly, Almedha might not have been able to tell whether he was Branded or not (See: Pelleas) and secondly, if someone was in a room with Ashnard, you wouldn't really want to refuse him if he said something to the effect of "Let's have a son :D". He did kill his entire family and then did some twisted games (See: Chapter 7 in PoR. Shinon mentions Ashnard's gladiator-esque games.) for sport and to establish leaders. Even if you were a black dragon, I doubt you would be rushing to take on Ashnard, the Four Riders at the time and anyone near Ashnard at the time. Or indeed, in the same fortress.

  6. At first, I assumed this was a joke topic. It isn't, so I'm going to take the opportunity to point and laugh instead of typing up a paragraph which could just as easily be a big ball of fire and not an actual post.

Nevertheless, I would like to cite Phoenix Wright: Trials And Tribulations. Europeans didn't get a good deal with this game - it was given infinite release dates and didn't meet one of them (except the last one... obviously). I believe America got T&T sometimes around January-March 2008 (correct me if I am wrong.) and the European release data was something like April 2nd. Didn't come out - in the end, it came out October 3rd, which was after Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney despite AJ being the fourth game in the series and T&T being the third. I have no idea why it would need so many bloody delays to release the game, especially as they translated all of AJ in the time it took to translate T&T, despite T&T having quite a bit longer to work on regarding America release dates. Suddenly having a game (ZOMG) come out in Europe one-six months before it comes out in America meaning that "ONOEZ FE HAS ABANDONED US!" (While I understand nobody actually said this, I'm calling it a summary from someone who isn't in the best of moods and really shouldn't of read this topic having a good idea what it would be about, but...) is such utter bullsh*t. If European gamers did something like this for every game that was released in North America before Europe, European gamers would be in the asylum.

Ooh, point of order - someone earlier in the thread mentioned the DSi being region-locked. I thought it was only DSi-Only games - and you can always buy a cheaper NDS/DSLite... And more to the point, I may have worded myself a little harshly in the last few sentences of the paragraph and for that I apologise, I just became irked when writing it and don't want to re-phrase it when it will be confused for another point that is irrelevant.

  7. I tend to place Dawn Bridage units that are Tier 2 into Tibarn's party in Part 4. The laguz chapter has a huge well of experience and tends to give Nolan and Edward their chance to enter my Endgame team instead of being replaced by Mia and another Magic user, which I tend to have at least four of come Endgame (Micaiah; Sanki; Soren; Pelleas from the 2nd PT onwards). Jill doesn't need that chapter, she ends up 20/20/5+ (from my last playthrough) from being in Micaiah's party if I recall correctly.

  8. Point - If there is already a DSi topic which I did not see, please lock this and direct me to the actual thread for it.

    Sauce

Nintendo have recently announced that they will be releasing a new model of the DS, the DSi.

    New/Removed Features

    • Smaller Size (then the DSLite) - 12% thinner, approximately.
    • Slightly larger screens (then the DSLite)
    • SD card slot
    • MP3 playback
    • 3 megapixel camera built it.
    • Built in Internet browser.
    • DSWare store where people may spend 'Nintendo Points'.
    • No f**cking GBA slot.
    • Two touch-compatible screens (see below).

    More Sauce

I've heard that it's region locked, but don't have a link to provide proof of this. Thoughts on the DSi? No confirmed American release date, but it's assumed to come out into the US soon and into the UK in ten years.

By the way - I foresee the SD card feature being used for pirating. Oh well :3 Makes up for the lack of a GBA slot somewhat.

  9. What went wrong?

Swordsalmon *stabbed* As has been stated, the tree of debating began to grow within the Forest and rapidly grew, hiding certain trees from the sunlight and hence causing the trees that were now under the debate tree to strike at the debate tree with natural defences, causing this little mess.

    Why did it go wrong?

Some smaller trees did not like being under the debate tree and the icing on the cake was the colossal leaf known as the General Debate Structure, which annoyed a good deal of the Forest trees.

What do you think about the concept of FE debate?

I'm indifferent - I do not participate in debates and neither do I want to. While I enjoy debating, debating over Fire Emblem sometimes bores me. I do not wish to hurl the same s**t that has been thrown at the debaters and neither do I want to throw said s**t at the anti-debaters. I'll stay firmly on my fence, thank you very much. PEMN is irritating after the fortieth or so time, though.

What do you think when you see FE debating?

    "Beep. *clicks on topic*"

    What is Serenes Forest?

A collection of trees, with the occasional oak.

  10. On a side note, I don't believe Canas affects which one you go to.

My mistake, he doesn't. Which kind of means I have no excuse for going to Kenneth's map.

As a side note, I only went to Jerme's map once on my first playthrough... because I didn't use any magic users .__.

  11. Due to me not liking Bartre or Dorcas, but liking Priscilla, Lucius and Canas; I always end up Kenneth's map, despite me not wanting to - I find the magic users just too good to not use. Except possible Lucius, who I might drop on my next playthrough.

  12. How did I miss the Mafia Game popping up? I was intending to make a Mafia Game in the near future here, even. It seems I have been beaten to it, not that it's a bad thing.

...The rules seem stricter then what I am used to, but I can always wait for Round II (if there is one).

  13. In the Radiant Dawn section, there is a walkthrough for the game. I was wondering if it would be taken down soon - it contains a little incorrect information (I can see that it is made from the Japanese version) and isn't generally needed.

Just asking, nothing too serious or needed - just asking for the sake of knowing what will happen with it.

  14. It seems that whenever I use Rolf, he dies very easily. But I'm horrible at 'babying' units and I have other units to use BEXP on. Shinon isn't much better, but he comes better and I've been able to use him easily. Ergo, I prefer Shinon.

Just so you know, I normally design a playing style that encourages Archer use - but Rolf dies from other archers attacking him not long after he is recruited. And Soren/Ilyana suit my indirect needs just fine
