Oh yeah, that leak. Honestly, what makes me really doubt it is why the fuck would Paladins come to Switch? The game is basically Not Overwatch.

Then again, South Korea's game rating's confirmed Fortnite on the Switch so......

Well I'm teamFake on this one, Paladin could open the door for Overwatch and I think it was discovered in Paladins files a picture of the Joycons, but Fortnite coming to the Switch doesn't give this leak any credibility what so ever, the game is basically ported everywhere, and it is the most popular game at the moment, speculations about Fortnite are not uncommon and they would cross every Fake Leaker mind.

That font... it looks horribly photo shopped, it's like they directly took the above R in Fire Emblem and moved it down a space. And wasn't one of the one things we know about Fire Emblem Switch, the fact that it's not a remake? Ya know due to the line "A brand new Fire Emblem game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch." O.o

I mean the thirst for new information is real but... come on...

I...honestly wouldn't be surprised by this the game that literally SAVED the franchise so it getting a HD remake early wouldn't surprise me (if its actually a remake/HD port) it COULD be a sequel if not there needs to be more in this to stand out to the original than just beautiful HD Models and graphics.

    no way I'm replaying Awakening.

not gonna lie, I may skip if that is the case, awakening is my least favorite entry in the series and arkenea is my least favorite continent, now if it is a tellius followup, I may look into it, either way though, terrible name, absolutely horrible, no creativity whatsoever.

I actually think it might be a Tellius game, maybe it will have Priam as the protag, and will tell the story from his end

  5. How about a spin-off that's more focused on a smaller-cast, based on Project Steam engine (which is a fantastic game) that's all about moving right, and be more about close combat, and in close quarters it becomes A kin to Dark Souls combat, where it is highly tactical or it becomes a more advanced use of the motion controls used in Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, where it would be tedious in Zelda, here the game is more focused around it, and every weapon is used in a certain way and has it's own motion commands, playing SS always made me feel like that this combat would feel more natural in a Fire Emblem Spin-off.

I take issue with it if I can joke about just how edgy and dark it is, dark fantasy would ultimately devolve into dark for the sake of being dark (especially in fire emblem, can't wait to see jagan's severed head on a pike.), Radiant Dawn is the darkest I care to see the series go personally, but if we are using corpses for cover, or choosing who to sacrifice for the greater good while they meet a truly horrific demise, it will just be generally unappealing. There is a good reason why I don't want edgy vampire emblem.

Oh, right, artist opinions, I like kita personally, her style isn't too distinct to distract from the overall designs and she is competent enough to draw characters with two different feet, unlike a certain somebody I know... So I guess what I prefer is somebody who is indistinct and won't distract from the subject too much, I also appreciate good coloring, like not oversaturated or having a weird sandy look to it.

That's my problem too, Edgy dark fantasy is not my thing either in fact it is the thing that plagued Fates, I pray to god Vampire Emblem is not real too, when I think Dark Fantasy, I think more in the vein of Berserk in term of atmosphere, and a bit  A Song of Ice and Fire, Political plots, and more intricate personal drama, would be amazing, something that existed in past Fire Emblem games, but it doesn't exist anymore (Echoes is an exception), that's one way to go, another way to go is expand on what they did with Echoes, make the game much more complex, combine Echoes gameplay with Radiant Dawn gameplay,  give us a more down to earth legend, less nobles more about the everyday struggle of those unfortunate, a bigger subplots, with emphasis on People vs Power, make fun of old Fire Emblem, where you actually control two protagonists, one which is noble and he is after a goose chase to find this legendary item that can bring peace, but in fact it doesn't exist and all he did was for nothing, and the other is some sort of a Mercenary or non-noble, with a tragic backstory, where you start your campaign building an Army to defeat a bunch of country leaders and unite these countries, it's all about the vision of peace, where the Prince is your typical Fire Emblem Hero ala Marth where he wants to get this peaceful item that can magically bring peace or the Mercenary who thinks you have to get your hand dirty for a much greater goal. (I think I went overboard with this xD)

Radiant Dawn's not really that dark, though. Aside from the Palleas situation where either Micaiah or Taureno has to kill Palleas, which isn't gone over in any explicit detail, I'm struggling to think of anything darker than your standard FE fare. Even the bright, bubbly Awakening has Emmeryn (sort-of)killing herself IN a cutscene.

I like how dark the Jugdral games go. I could do without the rape implications in further games, but Generalogy and Thracia 776 is where I'd prefer FE to be at tonally.

But I think it should all make sense within the established context of the series. As in, medieval fantasy. Go FE4/5 dark, not Berserk dark. Berserk only works because it's, well, it's Berserk. Most things that try to ape Berserk's style and tone fall flat on their face, the closest thing ever really coming to successfully replicating it being the Souls games, which... don't really have narratives. They just get the atmosphere totally right.

If we go back to FE4/5 dark, then I'd prefer a more subdued style to go along with it. I think part of why Kozaki's art in Fates(To go off on another "Kozaki was a bad choice for Fates!" tangent) was so off-putting to me was that it didn't feel like it fit the tone of fates. This very colorful, sharp, and over the top style was used in a game where you spent a lot of time plotting to kill your (Assumed)father, and killing siblings who get in the way, who in return, might also be killing your siblings who are getting in THEIR way(Looking at you, Xander). And in Conquest, standing by as totally noble and good people, like Scarlet, are torn limb form limb, and then the game saying "Hahaha yeah, Scarlet died a horrible painful death, the worst one imaginable!". It didn't gel. Some stories juxtapose cutesy or unassuming art styles with dark content very well when it's intended. They're supposed to lull you into dropping your guard so when bad stuff happens, it REALLY hits you. I don't think it was intended in Fates. I think the goofy, ridiculous designs were supposed to be played straight, and not taken with the context of the rest of the game, which made the presentation feel even clunkier.

The Jugdral games are a fantastic evolution in the Fire Emblem storytelling department, which was demolished later on, and then brought back with Fire Emblem PoR, to me PoR had the best atmosphere of any Fire Emblem game, it was very believable in terms of the Fantasy elements, down to earth and felt homey, Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates were a mess, what is even more infuriating about Fates, is that Kozaki ruined  it, if I remember the reveal of fates with that amazing starting CG trailer, where the art style was realistic, than it cuts to Kozaki Dancing girl, that was a slap to the face to be frank!

FE characters are generic popular anime looking.... from Marth to Fates siblings all look like normal anime characters...

If u honestly think that they will go away from the popular anime-ish style to sth liek this... be my guest... its just not realistic (the irony)

And what do u mean by Berserk-esque world? isnt it already a fantasy? unless u expect raping demons... which again wont happen...

There is Fantasy and there is Dark Fantasy, Dark fantasy doesn't have to be about Demon Raping, it can be gritty and yet Fantastical, a more realistic take on fantasy, something Fire Emblem should delve into in my opinion.

and By the way artists adapt, Shinkiro did the art for MvC3 and TvC, and you will realize he has a wide range of skills.

    way too realistic for FE

Since when did Fire Emblem have a stable art style anyway, maybe they had a stable artstyle during the GBA>Wii Era but Fire Emblem is all about the armor designs that are down to earth almost realistic designed armors until the 3DS era, where they shook things up, what better representation to Fire Emblem going HD is there than getting Shinkiro as the art designer, a more realistic looking characters, with proper anime facial features would be the way to go, with the proper armor to go with it, Fire Emblem in my eyes should try something new, everything can be successful with the right marketing, Fire Emblem with Berserk-esque world and more mature stories, would  be a dream come true, and the best artist to realize this vision is non other than Shinkiro, the guy is so damn good, unless they go back to Senri Kita that's my other option for Fire Emblem, I can already  visualize the way he is going to go about it.

Then what is it based on? For all we know you're pulling shit out of your ass because you don't tell us why you are reliable.

The guys has been spot on, he said there will be a direct today, and was sure it wont include anything with Fire Emblem, so now I'm inclined to believe him.

  10. There's a reason Nintendo didn't announce this Direct, because it wasn't a real Direct, it was a ''Mini'' Direct, so being hyped for it isn't wise, Only be hyped when they ask you to be hyped, when they announce the Direct date 2 days in advanced, because it's obvious that this mini Direct was made for their bottom feeders games and fodder, their top games will be announced on a proper Direct, which is a good format, they dont have to waste valuable Direct time on lesser profile games, and it was a stroke of Genius to give the spotlight for the Switch version of Dark Souls to shine and not to be lost in the middle of a Direct with much more stellar games, I liked that mini Direct, and Fire Emblem wasn't in it, because now Fire Emblem is in the big leagues boys (despite the fact, the way paved by Fan service and face petting) and will only appear in the big boys direct.

we have flying horses aka pegasus and dragons not wolf or panda riders.... u replace the real units with real life stuff and the fantasy with fantasy stuff....

so horses naturally will be replaced with camels in a dessert culture... if u want to be more exotic replace them with zebras in more savana like cultures... but dont expect lions and cheetah's

This is quite misguided, Arabs don't fight on camels, we fight on horseback, in fact Arabs have the best horses, and they are well known horse breeders. Camels are used only for Travelling.

  12. 4 class Designs I came up with for an Arabian Fire Emblem idea

    First one is:

    Falcon Glider

Weapons of choice: Lance and Daggers

Promotes to a Phoenix Glider and gains swords upon promotion, abilities would be, Sand Surfer: negates all negative terrain from sand and gain +10 avoid on sand terrain, Mirror Falcon: depending on the wielder skill, there is a chance your attack will summon a falcon to fight by your side doing a consecutive attack for one turn.

    Second one is:

    Mercenary

    Weapon/s of choice: Swords

Promotes to a Brave Lion (the one pictured) and gains the use of axes upon promotion, abilities would be, Recklessnes: increase Crit chance by 75%, reduce defense by 50% in the following turn.

    Third one is:

    Scholar

Weapons of choice: Staves and Librams

Promotes to an Inscriber and gains a new weapon type Roc Feathers (these feathers have magical abilities where it makes everything inscribed with it into a reality for a little while).

  13. I really doubt it. The models for the CG cutscenes are insanely good and there is a reason why they only have like 6 or so characters at most. Imagine the budget for all the unique characters they have to make for 12 or so episodes. Even Frederick never appears in the CG scenes despite being a huge presence throughout the story.

The FE9 and FE10 was a similar situation where only the few main characters were made for the scenes. A lot of the same character models were used in those big army fight scenes.

Same company made both games Cutscenes, they are quite good actually, but an anime is a better Idea, FE 9 Anime would be Ideal, it has everything an anime structure needs, A developing main character, an iconic and relatable cast, a good story, goals and reasons, good villains, amazing mythos, and most importantly the main group are not royalties.

  14. The series is hitting a rough batch in terms of creativity, I think they just want to stay a stable franchise for now, and then they will want to move forward with better ideas, after all Fire Emblem is more known than ever now, it will be impossible for Fire Emblem to reach as low as Path or Radiance or Radiant Dawn sales, I still have faith in Int Sys, that they will go back in a grandiose venture to the big screen hopefully.

    My take would be though:

    • Evolve the series, the series became stagnant, the mechanics are well known and documented, we need a new gamplay mechanic.
    • Get rid of pair-up and bring Rescue and Capture back.
    • make direction important, where ever the unit is facing he will take half damage, normal damage on the side of the unit and double damage from the back of the unit (Knights maybe don't have this disadvantage though)
    • more equipment, an Armor and a weapon would be nice, one to boost defense and one to boost attack (not every character wear an armor though like Myrmidons and Thieves, maybe they get shoes that boost their speed)
    • Story should be deep, somewhat mature, with a good view on real life, and has a meaningful message in the end.
    • A multi-player mode, with generic units, the multi-player will be 2-4 players, will start with 2 teams (1 vs 1) both of you pick a team of generic characters 1 lord character 7 special units and 7 soldiers, it will be somewhat like chess and Shogi, the Multiplayer will have a big map with fog, each will have NPC enemy camps, Soldiers can't level up and they can gain stats but they are really tough and can promote early through special scrolls that you buy from an NPC in the main camp to Scouts, they traverse huge area but they lose their high defense so choose wisely, you level up your special units and get them to promote, you need to get them into special areas to promote once they promote they become really powerful, levels increase luck only, all the special units have predetermined stats although the weapons and the armor you buy can alter your stat configuration, The luck stat here increase your chance of finding weapons in each square and finding money, each unit has one weapon, the weapon has 10 uses, you need to capture camps to gain money, so you can buy better weapons, you can blow it all on one character or you can spend it well, the more camps you conquer the stronger your main camp will be and it can become a fortress, once it promote to a fortress all the Special Units can promote from there. (that's just the gist of the idea.)
  15. 2 stock is bad, because it's too short, so if someone SD's by accident, they're basically screwed. And people have less of a chance of making a comeback whenever they lose a stock first. And comebacks are cool. :P

Now you are contradicting yourself, you said 6 minutes are too long now you say 2 stocks are too short, you can't have it both, way...either make it 6 minutes 3 stocks or 5 min 2 stocks...

  16. No way, 2 stock is awful. I think most people here agree that 3 stock is better anyway.

2 stock is good, because people will play on their toes from the start, it is less forgiving for a reason, and Smash 4 is not Melee or Brawl it takes more time to kill in Smash4.

  17. The problem with turning off Sudden Death is that in the event of a stock draw, the victor is instead decided by how much damage they dealt to other players.

Neither Sudden Death nor non-Sudden Death leads to a fair result, so you might as well take the more fun option.

You can eliminate the time, make it 2 stocks and you've got yourself a tourney...
