  1. My guess is that the whole dungeon thing is for characters you abduct through Streetpass, and that through the dungeon there's a limited number of characters you can abduct but through upgrades you can increase that limit. Also I really hope that they do some major balancing around that system or at least limit it to Streetpass only as having a bunch of Aquas and being able to use them all in the story would be OP. Heck just having a bunch of Aquas in Streetpass would be OP granted you can only use a certain amount of characters per battle. I just don't want a repeat of Awakening's streetpass battles...

  2. ^ I agree, though they could have like a hide accessory feature so you still get the bonuses from the accessories you just don't see them. If they're excluded to only My Castle and Streetpass though I wouldn't mind that either, they just don't really fit in with the story bit itself but at the same time they offer bonuses which makes you want to wear them. Hopefully if they don't have a "hide accessories" feature and they are included in the story mode part of the game that they at least have plenty of fairly decent options to choose from.

In any case, on the whole petting feature isn't it a thing where you heal their wounds? Like the touching is you putting ointment on or bandaging a wound you just don't really see it? I dunno, maybe I'm getting confused with something else.

Edit: No, I'm pretty sure you're dressing their wounds as the pointer thing itself even looks like one of those little cotton swab things. In which case this makes sense and the lines in which the characters say are a little less cringe-worthy. Harold's is still pretty out there but Felicia and Joker's lines make sense and I can see how dressing your allies wounds would strengthen your bond with one another. Perhaps if they just made it more visibly noticeable that that is in fact what you're doing people would have less of an issue with it.

  3. Werewolves and Vampires fit but I think the whole Kamui being able to change into a dragon thing already cancels out any other options. There were only two options in Awakening as well and that was Manakete and Taguel, so Kitsune and Dragon/Manakete in this one, plus I think Dragons represent European folklore well enough.

  4. Isn't it supposed to be like you're healing their wounds or something? It's a weird feature to be sure but I don't mind it too awful much, plus I get to touch Cyrus' face. :D

And as for the hot springs bit it makes sense for the Hoshidan side, I'm just curious how it'll work on the Nohr side or if they'll have something completely different.

  5. I was gonna guess that each one nets you a new accessory if anything, though it probably won't use all of the smash amiibos, just the more popular characters. We've already seen that some of the accessories are pretty outlandish, I can see for example: Mario & Luigi hats, Mega Man helmet, Link hat, Pikachu tail, so on and so forth.

  6. Camilla x Rinka, hue hue hue... But no seriously, I'm banking on Luna to be Severa from the good timeline, someone pointed out on a different topic Severa's name being translated to Selene which is the name of the Greek Moon goddess. The Roman's version of the goddess went by Luna. I dunno, I just found it to be a cool connection.

  7. This adds a whole new meaning to the term "Heavy Petting"... Jokes aside I really hope the hearts aren't an indicator of potential love interests, mainly because if that's the case then I can't romance Cyrus as Male Kamui! Oh the horror! Although seeing as there are only three people with hearts I highly doubt this is the case. Either way, if I can't romance Cyrus with Male Kamui then I know I can at least have the most homo-erotic bromance to ever be a part of a Fire Emblem game. Yay for semi-win! :D

  8. Should've realized this sooner, but Severa = セレナ --> Selēnē, the Greek moon goddess whose Roman equivalent was... drumroll please... Luna.

Nice catch there, I'm really hoping that the whole "This is Severa from the good timeline" thing turns out to be true.

It seems all of the throwbacks include popular children characters and are all part of the Nohr side excluding Lucina, so maybe the Hoshidan side has 3 popular adult characters excluding Male MU? I dunno, my original theory was that they're mercenaries that you encounter and can hire in both games and that changes the armor they wear respectively. Both not-Inigo and not-Severa seem to be a part of the same class which I'm assuming is Hero or a rank below that.

Hm, gah I dunno, so much speculation! I need a better image of not-Inigo to even be sure that it's not-Inigo as the only resemblance is in the face and the back-end of the hair, the front bit looks different but that could be because of the angle his head is facing or because of his age in this game compared to Awakening, I dunno, not-Severa also looks slightly younger, the lips are different too but I'm just nitpicking at this point...

  9. Nohr because I prefer the more modern style in the characters/clothing and also because a lot of it's objectives and overall mechanics remind me of past games and adds a bit more of a challenge. Obviously the third path were you pick neither side is the best way to go (I like the thought of being a rebel and going against the odds/striking it alone) but seeing as that's not an option I'll have to side with Nohr.

  10. Harold reminds me of Lieutenant Armstrong from FMA, probably due to the sparkles and his amazing facial features. Also there's something quite comical about that image due to the lack of sound, I just picture him laughing as that's all his mouth movements suggest.

  11. 57 says something like "village girl" [do not quote my kanji ability], while 60 says "Raimi", who appears as a boss in chapter three. Why they included a random boss from so early in the game who presumably has little plot significance is beyond my understanding, but he is there. Of course that also explains why he came in last place.

Hm, yea... I dunno. I guess they just threw him in there to even-out at 60? Who knows...

So, something like that vilage girl is what Krom marries if he doesn't pick someone by the time Lucina is revealed? Interesting...

I was also beginning to wonder who the number 27 is below Callum, looks like it could be someone related to Basilio although I'm guessing that's not the case...

I'm just basically trying to figure out how he got so high up on the polls I guess, what with being a non-supportable character and all...

  12. Aw man, why is Brady so far back?! I personally would've voted for him. =P

Also, It's possible like someone else had stated that Mark's birthday could be a reference to a future game...?

Although seeing as how it's on Children's Day I suppose that would make sense too... Who knows. xD

EDIT: Also, I know they're probably bosses but who are numbers 57 and 60 in the Poll?

  13. i noticed something all the 2nd MALE generation characters have a rough and harsh side except (azure and wood)

Well, I suppose when you consider what their future is like it makes sense that they'd be pretty serious.

The only other male who isn't really all that serious is MaMark, or just Mark in general, what with being so young and such...

Even most of the girls from 2nd gen are pretty serious, except for maybe FeMark and Cynthia...

Noire could also be considered as less serious since she's more of a timid type, except for when she flips out of course. =P

  14. It seems like all of the children character's hair colors are meant to resemble their mother's except for...

Chambray (The small tuft in his hair is white whereas it should be brown)

    Degel (Should be red)

    and Azure (N33D5 2 B3 P1NK!!!1)

  15. Well, we have to put into perspective that the FE series focuses mainly on the war [medieval, at that] and individual character development. And, ofttimes, the span of a war isn't the best time to pursue a romantic relationship. (Not to mention that most FE characters seem to be varying degrees of religious, e.g. Ashera's followers vaguely resemble how the Catholic church operates, but I digress.)

As for character development, I feel like even if the person is hinted to being gay, I'd like to at least see the psychology behind it than just "lul I'm gay guise~" flat characters. emo13.gif I mean, take Heather for example. Her 'attraction' toward girls actually stems from her father being a jerk, so she'd think that the majority of men would be like that. ...Doesn't help when there's people like Shinon & Gatrie around... dry.gif Didn't help that we got the abbrev form of FE:RD either, which gypped us of a LOT of info. Facepalm_emote_gif.gif The only games that have anything beyond hints at romantic relationships are Genealogy and Awakening, and the main reason for the marriages were to get the children characters, which are a big help, admittedly, and for plot relevance/enhancement.

That and Japan has a slightly different view of homosexuality than the West does. There's no laws against it, but no legal recognition of homosexual relationships either, and it really just isn't that big of a deal in Japan. It's not a major focus in Japanese politics, nor is it that heavily discussed. Contrast the US where you have the Chick-Fil-A scandal, pride parades and a whole other assortment of things... blah blah blah blah blah. But anyway, that's some of the main reasons you won't find gay relationships often if at all in FE... but then again, who knows what could happen.

Yea, I know, I just wish there was at least one you know?

And I didn't neccesarily mean the stereotypical gay that you can spot right off the bat or anything like that., I mean I personally would like a more in-depth look as to why they are who they are myself....

Again, I just wished that they had one, or would make one sometime in the future.

It'd make the game more diverse, you know? I mean this is like one of their first games to have an actual Black person in it, isn't it? And this is the first one that introduces a culture similar to feudal Japan. So I mean it is getting more and more diverse, even if it just race-wise at the moment. =P

  17. I find the My Unit Creation a little disappointing as well. I believe they should have stuck to the average build only and allowed more customization options, such as different poses, hair styles, etc. The child and adult options for MU can create very awkward marriage couples, like Child!Male My Unit paired with Inverse or Adult!Female My Unit paired with Richt. Sticking with only the "average" My Unit build could have eliminated that.

Actually I think they were implemented to help make certain marriage supports seem less awkward, like since you can make MaleMU a child you can pair him with Nono without it being weird. And adult FemaleMU would suit Grego better, etc.

Honestly I'm glad they implemented the age thing and while sure there aren't a lot of options for each and every age type the game still gives you pretty decent amount of character customization options.

(Especially for an FE game which normally doesn't have any customizable characters whatsoever.)

  18. Thank you so much!

I'm actually glad it's similar to FeMU's version. Damnit MaMU, why do you have to be scared of your feelings?

...I'd be glad to be dreaming of Grego. -Rambles to self-

I know right?! I kind of wish there was a yaoi/gay support in this game but the chances of one ever being put into an FE game period are slim if that.... =/

I mean a few hinted-at gay relationships have been in the FE series before, sure, but none that were 100% gay, sadly... =(

  19. Hm, so the first challenge map gives you Est with updated art if you complete the challenge so then I wonder what the other challenge map DLC's will give you as a reward... I'm assuming some more updated characters but who knows, it'd defintiley be cool though. =P
