  1. Hm... This seems like an issue that might be affecting certain games: Ever since the Update, Hyrule Warriors: DE (playing it to complete story mode and the Adventure Maps now that I have all the bloody weapons) has been having the same issue with voices.

  2. Generally just neutral on her; She's not particularly unique or gripping other than that she's our Marth in terms of first actual Lord played in a Fire Emblem game.

About the only thing that makes me support her inclusions in spin-offs is that she gets to talk with Player Avatars because that's basically her main role in Fire Emblem and she has not let me down so far yet.

So I guess she's sort of the proto-Camilla before Camilla, being an attractive woman who mainly talks with the player representation of the game.

  3. M!Robin. Both in terms of character and gameplay (tome user using mainly lightning magic with a pretty good moveset). So I'm really happy that they went with him as the default.

From there, going by both character and gameplay, it basically goes Leo, followed by Xander, before finally rounding it out with Lissa (in terms of only character) or Caeda (in terms of only gameplay).

  4. I think Velezark works fine as the sole giant boss. It was fun trying to predict which of the maps had him in the final boss battle and which ones didn't include him in the final boss battle because one of the optional battles was a boss-type mission where the enemy commander summoned him. (And also because Velezark appears only once per map in a normal mission and once per map in a Distortion mission and only on the endgame-focused maps/missions.)

Speaking of, if I remember correctly, these characters are among the ones who summoned him:

    Spoiler
    1. Chrom (DLC, both normal and Darkness variant I believe)
    2. M!Robin (DLC)
    3. Validar
    4. F!Corrin (DLC, not sure if Darkness variant)
    5. M!Corrin (Free DLC)
    6. Takumi (DLC)
    7. Sakura (DLC)
    8. Xander (DLC)
    9. Camilla (Darkness variant, DLC)
    10. Elise (DLC, unsure on this one, actually; I believe it was one of the Awakening DLC chapters)
    11. Marth (DLC)
    12. Caeda (DLC)
    13. Gharnef (DLC)
    14. Darius (Both normal and Darkness variant)
    15. Lyn (Free DLC)

NOTE: Darkness variant refers to the variant on this where the "darkness in *enemy commander*'s heart runs amok" triggers the summon instead of the enemy commander consciously deciding to summon him upon defeat that is the norm. Notable only in that the enemy commander doesn't speak the line that indicates that they're summoning him.

NOTE 2: Xander, Validar, and Gharnef are the only ones with final boss missions in History Mode maps that don't involve summoning Velezark who also have missions that involve summoning him.

... So I think it's safe to theorize that every voice actor has recorded a line to be used for summoning Velezark to the field.

  5. Maybe do both? Have Darius as the MC and include an Avatar creation mode as well.

In terms of other things The only real regular classes that we're missing out on right now is the Fighter and Knight classes so getting two characters who are of those classes will be good. Otherwise, I don't really see anything I want to change about the first game.

Bold: Kids, there's nothing like spamming a powerful move to attack weak points for massive damage! But when the move is unsafe to execute and leaves you open, that's no good!

No idea what you're trying to say here, because that should be pretty obvious. Especially if the majority of the move's power lies in that final hit so not being able to hit with it is no good.

Who said that she was considered trash? She just doesn't have as good a moveset as Robin/Tharja, which is needed for a waveclearing/dueling, and in Warriors, most of the fun comes from movesets (which is why people love Lyn/Navarre and Ryoma/Owain). which are needed for S ranking the map in a fast time. Also, I listed one of the biggest reasons, her fully charged C1 is terrible if it leaves her wide open to attacks from behind and is slow. Robin/Tharja's fully charged C1 is unstoppable, and they are not open to attacks from the enemy while they perform it.

Also, Magic stat is pretty pointless when you are using a 720 might weapon, because at that point, str/mag really doesn't matter, especially when it's a 20 point difference.

If you like Linde, ok, great. But that's not going to change the fact that the majority of people sees Robin's/Tharja's moveset being much better, which makes them more versatile.

Errata: Robin's moveset: I've done some testing now that Tharja finally got Astra and she's... got some differences alright:

For the first thing, I can now confirm that Goetia is not just Rexaura with a different animation. It lasts about 1 second more than Rexaura but there's more time in-between each hit and it doesn't keep the opponent in place which means they're able to recover and escape some of these hits... including the final hit! In addition, only Goetia's last hit hits behind Tharja while Rexaura hits behind Robin for all of them. So to sum it up: Goetia lasts longer, deals less damage on average to both HP and Stun Gauge, and is less safe than Rexaura in general.

Furthermore, with Robin, I can do this:

And while I have had some success in replicating this with Tharja (except for the part where I managed to execute the crit, the Stun Gauge went away just before the final hit), it seems much harder to do with her. (I blame her weird dodge.)

Is there something special to VElezark's story drops?

The first time I completed story mode (normal), I got a silver & Gold material. I figured the first drop was just special, so you could actually make progress on Liana & Rowan's attack badges.

And sure enough, Hard mode only dropped a single one (gold, frustratingly)

But then I beat Lunatic (w/ Convoy Blessing) and got another gold & silver?

I remember getting like 8 Silver and one Gold from the final Story chapter, so there's definitely something that's fishy here.

Since you research the game so much, I would pose this question to you:

How much of an effect do the War God Crests have on the amount of time the stun gauge is visible?

Also, I wanna know whose materials the SD and Awakening DLC characters need.

Navarre wants Marth and Caeda materials. (He also wants Outlaw Materials.)

Minerva wants Linde, Marth, and Navarre materials.

Linde wants Minerva and Gharnef materials.

Owain wants Niles, Lissa, and Lucina materials.

Tharja wants Olivia, Robin, and Validar materials.

Olivia wants Robin, Tharja, and Chrom materials.

And they all want their own materials for the usual crests that require one's own material. (Combo Crest IV, Skill Crest III-V, Mastery Crest, Sanctuary Crest, and Talent Crest III.)

  10. Personally, I'm partial to Robin because his Critical Hits are much more powerful (due to slightly higher Mag and Luck stats and significantly higher Skill).

As for Navarre vs. Lyn, Navarre not being stuck with Dracoslayer (allowing for Plate + Wingslayer) + slightly better stats makes him slightly better than Lyn despite Lyn's extra slot. (Especially as it makes Wo Dao rather flexible in what it can do.)

Her lower skill & luck will likely leave her on the lower end, but her unique attack and seemingly faster attack speed might be good for some alternative builds.

I'm pretty sure all moveset clones have the same attack speed unless for some reason you are trying to compare one clone using astra and they other without it. I could be wrong about Tharja and Robin though since the devs made her slightly different compared to the other clones and I haven't used either that much to notice any difference.

Well, from my own testings, if there is a difference in attack speed, it's practically nonexistent, so I think they both have the same attack speed.

I find that Linde's issue is that she's too flimsy. She's also a bit slow compared to Tharja/Robin. However, despite that, her unique strong attacks DO set her apart so I do agree that she has some degree of superiority. She would be completely superior if it was for her glass canon-like style.

If her attacks are worse than Robin/Tharja, then I'd say she's generally worse.

  13. 11 hours ago, Azz said:

I agree with this. I find Linde to be the best tome user her moves just seem to have a wider aoe, especially her C5 and C6.

Same with Tharja. Even without astra, I found her to be a bi faster then Robin. Also yeah Elise is better because she has better damage out put and staff utility.

I find Linde's hitboxes to be too frontloaded and her C1 to be unreliable. Far from the best.

Tharja, from what I can tell, is not faster than Robin. At most, she has his attack speed.

  14. Azura is probably the worst of the 5 Lance users in this game. And honestly she's worse than a good amount of the characters too.

However, "worse than a good amount of the characters" in this case still means "fairly solid" in terms of what challenges she can tackle,  so she's still going to be decent in your hands if you decide to learn how to use her.

Ya but getting to that mission appears to be a bit overwhelming but... its the weekend so I’ll go for it >:)

    Note that

    Spoiler

Marth summons Velezark when he's beaten, joining esteemed characters like Chrom, M!Robin, Corrin, Takumi, Sakura, Xander, Elise, Caeda, Lyn, Validar, Gharnef etc. in the Velezark summoning club. Prepare accordingly.

EDIT: @Jedi You only get two characters for Escort the Villagers, so max two characters with healing. (Unless you're talking in general to cover possible bases like restrictions and so on.)

The gimmick of Emmeryn's boss mission is a bog-standard Velezark surprise, though partway through the fight four shadow Wyvern Lords spawn around Velezark and advance on the base. As long as you have a wingslayer or dracoslayer they should be a non-issue though.

For Caravan Dancer, a bunch of captains with effective weaponry spawn and begin advancing on your base and commander (who are a Wyvern Lord and Great Knight, so they've got a lot of weaknesses).

Scion of Legend involves a bunch of Sniper reinforcements being sumoned and buffing the boss to ridiculous extremes AND debuffing your allied commander. Killing the reinforcements undoes the buffs and buffs the allied commander (the danger here is the boss and reinforcements dogpiling the allied commander because the mission is a Neutralized Effectiveness mission, so the Snipers are not gonna kill the Allied Commander in one hit).

I like how the game plays up Tharja's nicer traits

Probably the nicest that Tharja has ever been, thank God.

Anyways, Character Supports after this DLC (Base + DLC/Cross-DLC):

    Spoiler

    Rowan: 8+1=9

    Lianna: 8

    Chrom: 8+2=10

    Robin: 8+2=10

    Lucina: 9

    Lissa: 7+1=8

    Frederick: 7+1=8

    Cordelia: 6+1=7

    Owain: 7+2=9

    Corrin: 8+3=11

    Ryoma: 7+4=11

    Xander: 9+2=11

    Hinoka: 5+4=9

    Camilla: 5+2=7

    Takumi: 4+3=7

    Leo: 4+4=8

    Sakura: 5+3=8

    Elise: 6+1=7

    Oboro: 7

    Niles: 5+2=7

    Marth: 10+4=14

    Caeda: 8+2=10

    Tiki: 8+1=9

    Navarre: 8+1=9

    Anna: 8+1=9

    Lyn: 10+1=11

    Celica: 8

    Azura: 5+2=7

    Minerva: 5+1=6

    Linde: 3+2=5

    Tharja: 5+2=7

    Olivia: 4+2=6

So after all the DLC no character that was in the game at base (including UNPC-turned-DLC characters) have a total A+ Support number under 7. The characters who only made it into the game through DLC (i.e. weren't already NPCs in the base game) have a max number of 7 Supports, and a minimum number of 5 supports.

Notably, both Chrom and Robin with DLC gained more A+ supports than Lucina who initially had the most out of the three (by 1). Corrin, Ryoma, and Xander, now equal Lyn's number of A+ supports, while Marth has the absolute highest amount of A+ supports of any character. Owain and Navarre have a total of 9 A+ supports each and Oboro and Niles have a total of 7 A+ supports each, Niles having closed the gap with the cross-DLC A+ supports.

  18. Scion of Legend Boss Mission Gimmick:

    Spoiler

Not the Velezark Boss Mission of this pack, since one of the optional missions on this map has Darios summon him: Niles will summon Sniper reinforcements, power up, and make a beeline for the allied commander who will also suffer a loss in morale. He will lose power (which will also increase morale of the allied commander) the more of his reinforcements you kill. The Boss mission is a Neutralized Effectiveness mission so the only thing your Wyvern Rider (or was it Pegasus Knight?) Allied Commander needs to worry about otherwise is getting piled upon by Niles and his reinforcements which will kill her fast despite the negation of slayer skills.

    Emmeryn Boss Mission Gimmick:

    Spoiler

Velezark. The power of darkness runs wild version. Shadow Wyverns will be summoned periodically which will go for your bases but that isn't much problem since Wyvern weaknesses are numerous.

The Caravan Dancer Boss Mission Gimmick:

    Spoiler

Not a Velezark Boss Mission of this pack, since one of the optional missions has Gharnef try his hand at summoning him: Validar will summon four promoted enemies: A Warrior with Hammer, a Sage with Wing Clipper, a Guardian Knight with Halberd, and a Monster with Dragonbane Claw. These Warriors will promptly assault any enemies that have a weakness to their weapons, and the Allied Commander and Allied Base Fort Captain do have some of these weaknesses, which make them top priority to take out. Just be careful about who you send after them because weaknesses.

Yes, they made an enemy-exclusive weapon specifically for this mission.

Scion of Legend also has Lissa's Axe (Timed Attack Lv. 34, Manakete icon), Missiletainn (Villager Rescue Lv. 80, Caeda icon), Lissa's Axe's Scroll (Escort the Villagers Lv. 88, Manakete icon), Missiletainn's Scroll (Niles AKA the Final Boss mission, Lv. 105), Missiletainn's Opus (Gold Rush Lv. 116 Distortion Mission), Thoron's Opus (Arena Lv. 126 Distortion Mission), and Lissa's Axe's Opus (Escape Lv. 120 Distortion Mission) as notable rewards. You also get Lissa's Sage costume upon completion.

Emmeryn has Thoron (Shadow Rush Lv. 47, Manakete icon), Tharja's Hex (Escape Lv. 53, Tharja icon), Thoron's Scroll (Recruitment Battle Lv. 88, Mage icon), Cordelia's Lance's Scroll (Targeted Elimination Lv. 92, Mage icon), Tharja's Hex's Scroll (Camilla AKA the Final Boss mission, Lv. 105), Parallel Falchion's Opus (Shadow Rush Lv. 129 Distortion Mission), Cordelia's Lance's Opus (Recruitment Battle Lv. 124 Distortion Mission), Tharja's Hex's Opus (Villager Rescue Lv. 118 Distortion Mission), and a Recover staff (Timed Attack Lv. 114 Distortion Mission) as notable rewards. You also get Cordelia's Dark Flier costume upon completion.

The Caravan Dancer has Frederick's Axe (Recruitment Battle Lv. 49, Mage icon), Cordelia's Lance (Targeted Elimination Lv. 51, Great Knight icon), Olivia's Blade (Escort the Villagers Lv. 41, Olivia icon), Frederick's Axe's Scroll (Ally Rescue Lv. 68, Archer icon), Olivia's Blade's Scroll (Escape Lv. 73, Mage icon), Falchion's Opus (Escort the Villagers Lv. 117 Distortion Mission) Frederick's Axe's Opus (Fort Defense Lv. 123 Distortion Mission), Olivia's Blade's Opus (Ally Rescue Lv. 128 Distortion Mission), and a Great Festal (Lv. 111 Timed Onslaught Distortion Mission) as notable rewards. You also get Chrom's Exalt costume upon completion.

None of the new prfs have in-built slayers.

Owain, Tharja, and Olivia are also allowed into the Warriors Against Fate Anna mission all the way back in the very first History Map, as well as Within The Heart (of course).
