  1. Hahahahaha! Amazing! certain missions will now feature a submission where an enemy captain will appear wielding a weapon that's effective against a certain unit type! If one of your units is weak to that type, the enemy captain will start to hunt that particular unit! Currently, I've seen a Paladin with the Wing Clipper sword and a Sage with the Unsaddler tome.

Navarre, Minerva, and Linde are also allowed into Fight of the Hero King if you haven't gotten rid of the deploy limit yet.

  2. New scans for Hyule Warriors: Definitive Edition:

    http://nintendoeverything.com/scans-roundup-hototogisu-tairan-1553-hyrule-warriors-definitive-edition-valkyria-chronicles-4-more/

I don't read Japanese, but someone on GameFAQs said that it confirms that every weapon type will get a lv. 4+ version (aka every weapon will get a dual-element version), accompanied by a screenshot of Linkle with the Lv. 4+ version of her boots which, judging by the color, appears to be... light-elemental (same secondary element as her Crossbow's Lv. 4+ version).

One thing I'm hoping for is that they actually make all those hearts you get good for something - the damage limits for an A rank in Adventure mode were frustratingly low, for the most part (this was especially noticeable in the Twilight map in the Wii U version, where even grunts could do several hearts worth of damage). About the only thing all those hearts were good for was Hero mode - and even then, you losing likely wouldn't be because you died. Aside from that, I'd like some alternate colors for the Legends DLC characters. As for curiosities, I'm curious as to whether or not the Legends DLC characters will get their own drops or not (after all, Twili Midna and Young Link both got their own material drops in Legends).

Hearts being more useful already happened in Legends, since they're bringing all the content from both OG Hyrule Warriors and Legends to this one. You get a new weapon skill called Heart Power (5000 KOs to unlock) which ups your damage for every 5 max heart (and it's the only skill of it's kind in both type and KOs to unlock so you'll always know if you get it). At 60 hearts, you get something like 20-30% boost to your overall damage all the time which makes it a nobrainer to put on your best weapon builds.

The Legends DLC characters will be interesting. I think they might get their own drops, but I'm not gonna say for certain. I also believe we're not getting alternate colors for them if we don't get a new Adventure Map.

Oher than that, they're probably gonna balance all the content so you're able to clear it at Lv. 70-80 or so (with the level cap returning to 99).

I rarely heard of Ghirahim doing poorly. Ruto, the Baton and Agatha, yes to all of them being bad. But on a hypothetical tier list, well for the Wii U original, even after a bunch of updates Ghirahim was Upper Mid on GFAQs. His C5 has crowd clearing, it isn't the best, but it's very serviceable- better than non-Legends Fi's Officer and Giant Boss WPSing was for sure. The C2 is for juggling/Officer WPSing. A C1-C3 puts the hurt on lone officers. A C4 dodge canceled after the spikes appear is good for Giant Boss WPS. And C1 dagger spam deals okay chip for what little that is worth. Did Legends somehow nerf him?

I can see how character swapping would permit singularly flawed characters to be less bad, but if there are any solo challenges those flaws would still sting. Furthermore, being able to do everything well is still better, in worthless theory at least, than not being able to.

Are you talking about this list?

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KChWluS1vwmhNT3INyUWIzo-oycw1SRcNYbzZ4CF9H4/edit?usp=sharing

For the record, E Tier is where the first bad weapons appear. Everything in D Tier is average, and everything C and up is where weapons start to put out reliably good performances and keeps getting better from there.

Agitha is actually widely considered decent, but with a steep learning curve. She's good at 1-on-1, having solid combos, has one of the best WPSes in the game, and can deal with multiple officers alright. It's her crowdkilling and giant boss killing that holds her back: I don't think she's able to down the WPG on any boss without a special.

I have it too, but I also discovered that the XCOM gameplay may not be for me. I'm also terrible at actually ranking things.

Alright, not much one can do if the type of gameplay isn't for you. If that's the case, it's not really gonna grab at ya and that's understandable. But I'll expand a little bit on my reason:

If you had told me in 2016 that the Mario franchise was going to cross over with the Rabbids franchise, I'd have expected a party game which isn't terrible, but pretty safe considering what franchises we're talking about. If you had told me that this crossover would have guns and have the Mario cast and Rabbid shooting at each other, I'd probably facepalm and go "What are they thinking?! This is gonna flop!" And I probably wouldn't have believed you if you said it was gonna be a turn-based tactical RPG. Everything about this sounded like a disaster, much like how everything about Kingdom Hearts when it wasn't released yet (Final Fantasy crosses over with Disney franchise characters into an Action RPG) sounded like a disaster! How in the hell was that going to work?!

And the thing of course is that, like Kingdom Hearts, the concept did work. The concept did in fact work extremely well, the gameplay was good and engaging, the music was amazing, and the game turned out to exceed the expectations of many many people. It's not without it's flaws of course, but it's still a very good game overall and by God I want a sequel to it (in fact, I want many more).

Mario + Rabbids has Mario and is considered surprisingly good given its premise.

As someone who has the game in question; it most certainly is, and it definitely deserves a Top 10 position. It's one of those games that could have been really bad, and yet it ended up being really awesome instead. Probably kind of like Kingdom Hearts in that way.

    Good format.

Since you've got someone at level 110 now (my strongest is only 104), do you think you could figure out the costs of levelling up (culmulative and individual-level) for the Training Grounds page?

I'm curious as to whether the cost of levelling up continues to increase, or levels off like in Hyrule Warriors (it took the same amount of Exp or Rupees to go from level 98 to 99 that it took to go from 254 to 255).

Judging by the wonders of subtracting the cost of getting to 99 from the cost of getting to 100, it is rising. And judging by the costs of getting to 101 and 102 that I found out the same way, it's rising exponentally.

    for the record:

    • Lv. 100: 61,950
    • Lv. 101: 95.740
    • Lv. 102: 129,530

So I'd wager that we're not going to see a level cap in the 250s like in Hyrule Warriors.

EDIT: Got the rest of the costs per level:

    • Lv. 103: 163,320
    • Lv. 104: 197,110
    • Lv. 105: 230,900
    • Lv. 106: 247,800
    • Lv. 107: 247,800
    • Lv. 108: 247,800
    • Lv. 109: 247,800
    • Lv. 110: 247,800

It peaks at Lv. 106's 247,800 cost per level and from there on, it remains at that price.

I can do it and have done so for the promotion gains. Only thing is, is it the promoted or unpromoted stats we're using for level 99?

    18 hours ago, Anomalocaris said:

You'd have to ask @Folt. I think it's unpromoted though.

We use the promoted ones. I have however been thinking of adding the unpromoted Lv. 99 stats in addition to the promoted ones because, as we do have the promotion bonuses, we can add those too.

And be as it may, since I've returned I have saved you the trouble of adding her Lv. 110 stats because I just got Robin up to 110 and can get all the 110 stats from there.

  8. Alright! Finally got the whole picture.

    Spoiler

It depicts Azura in the forefront, with Takumi and Oboro on one side, and Leo and Niles on the other, with M! MCorrin about to shift to his dragon form, and F!Corrin with her back towards him.

I tooK a little peek on the Anna mission which appears to be based on Grief as well, given the portrait. It (and the portrait) is called "A Burdened Heart", and the Deploy Limit of the same name restricts the available characters to the Hoshidan and Nohrian royal family members only (so Ryoma, Xander, Hinoka, Camilla, Takumi, Leo, Sakura, and Elise) unless of course, as is the norm, you want to use the twins or Anna.

  9. Also, here's Oboro's Lv. 99 stats:

    Lv. 99 Unpromoted:

    Spoiler
    1. HP: 609
    2. Str: 66

    1. HP: +97
    2. Str: +21
    3. Mag: +4

    Lv. 99 Promoted:

    5. Spd: 101
    6. Lck: 85
    7. Def: 100
    8. Res: 64

She is pretty much geared as a physically defensive lance user, sporting the second highest Defence stat in the game (one point above Chrom and Camilla).

Oh, and as a bonus, Tiki's stats in Dragon form at Lv. 99, Promoted:

    Spoiler
    1. HP: 575 (Unchanged)
    2. Str: 99 (Changed from 69 Str)
    3. Mag: 81 (Changed from 63 Mag)
    4. Skl: 69 (Changed from 52 Skl)
    5. Spd: 87 (Changed from 67 Spd)
    6. Lck: 81 (Unchanged)
    7. Def: 121 (Changed from 76 Def)
    8. Res: 124 (Changed from 87 Res)

Yeah, they are pretty large boosts to her stats all around.

So hey, does anybody want to write some of these History Mode guide writeups? Because I've been writing them as I play, and... it's kinda killing my enthusiasm to have to do a write-up for every mission I play. It'd be a lot easier if the workload were distributed, yannow?

Just wondering if there's any brave volunteers here.

Looking at what's left, I can write one for Shadow Elimination 10 (the Tomes/Stones one) if you want, but I'm otherwise gonna be very busy spending time with my family this Christmas. I'll look up some of the Shaow Elimination stuff to see how I'll do it.

I'm mostly writing this from memory, so I might have to edit it further:

Both Robin and Leo should have the strongest Topsy-Turvy tome you can fit them out with, preferably also touting Dracoslayer especially on the one you will send to the uppermost direction towards the right side of the map (I'd recommend Leo because of his mobility, but Robin does have an advantage in his strength stat). Direct the Topsy-Turvy tome users towards the mages that spawn the Shadow Marths (one is in the W Arena Fort, the other is all the way northeast in the NE Buttle Fort) and kill them as quickly as you can. Have Elise and Tiki pair-up and guard the base because the Shadow Marths and many of the other units will attempt to rush the base and the allied commander which can quickly overwhelm you if a healer isn't down there managing their HP.

The Topy-Turvy Tome user sent towards the NE Buttle (hopefully Leo) can rush down and kill many of the advancing Manaketes, while the one sent to the W Arena Fortress can, due to Topsy-Turvy's nature, easily deal with the mages on the west side. Once the burden is lessened, keep Robin and Leo tome users split up and have them go after spawning Priests and Rally Captains (they're the Mage type for this mission) as well as taking over the fortresses on the map (containing Mages, Myrmidons, or Manaketes) so you can get the morale boost as fast as possible, and possibly even deal with some of the Shadows, while Tiki/the tome user in the base kills of the shadows remaining there by Pair-Up Specials, Awakening, and crits.

Once the shadows are dealt with, the allied commander will rush towards Marth (which is kind of a bad idea because he is an Axe user). If the fortresses aren't all secured, switch to the Topsy-Turvy tome users and do so while Elise paired up with Tiki accompanies the allied commander towards Marth. If your Topy-Turvy users have specials stored up, pair them up and unleash Dual Specials on Marth. Otherwise, use any of the tome users' charged C1s to expose his Stun Gauge and land crits on him.

Going by the same logic, female Robin should be with Chrom on Invisible Ties.

But this isn't actually how either side operates.

It isn't. Though, unlike the Corrins, F!Robin isn't as lucky to come from a game where each gender could basically rep one part of it, thus ensuring both genders have some degree of importance no matter who gets more popular.

Also, unlike M!Corrin, F!Robin isn't the actual main protagonist of the game she comes from.

    Already documented 'em.

    Gold Rush is quite delightful.

    It's super-great.

Oh, and Aura counts as both Hoshidan and Nohrian, Oboro counts as Hoshidan, and Niles counts as Nohrian for the sake of Deploy Limits.

    Speaking more of Azura:

Uh...no. Azura is not "affiliated" more with one than the other at all. The only "affiliation" one Corrin has vs the other is male with Birthright/Felicia and female with Conquest/Jakob.

M!Corrin can marry her, which strengthens his affiliation with her by default. Like, if you're M!Corrin, Azura being a potential love interest and THE important female of the game (excluding F!Corrin because she either is there or isn't there). F!Corrin doesn't have the potential romantic bond, but she does have it with her big and little (step)brothers which if you think about it from an otome game point of view, basically makes her the special snowflake surrounded by eligible hunk/bishonen bachelors compared to M!Corrin whose tale can potentially be spun into a boy-meets-girl romantic tale starring himself and Azura.

Incidentally, like Ryoma standing in for the Ice Tribe leader, Sakura stands in for Felicia. (Leo is Silas, Lissa is Elise.)

    2 hours ago, Motendra said:

Actually, in a marriage poll for the game, she did end up as #1 for that, if that is any indication. Otherwise, I'd agree

      Hide contents

And this, right here, more or less reduxed invisible ties, only she's representing Arete

Ah. That might explain why she's on the portrait then. Now I just need to find out what Leo, Takumi, Oboro, and presumably Niles will be on the portrait for.

  14. 10 hours ago, Arthur97 said:

Any idea what the Robin and Niles one is since I may have intentionally killed him.

Robin and Niles's support is rather nice, actually.

@Florete M!Corrin is featured on Azura's map because Azura is more affiliated with M!Corrin than she is with the female Corrin. F!Corrin gets both of the other two maps (despite one of them being Birthright-focused) because she's the representative Corrin for this game.

Also, the portrait does feature F!Corrin... but from what I've seen of it, I have no idea what it's going to represent for now.

  15. 5 hours ago, Nanima said:

only because she's dlc though. Sakura was in base game, and she has the same wind effects as Takumi, despite not having the Fuujin.

Then again, Wind in Fire Emblem is pretty much associated with killing fliers (+ with how Musou games are, everyone essentially gets at least one element to play with).

Also, no surprise that Oboro's moveset incorporates Wind and is essentially the Soldier moveset but playable since she might have been the base for those guys.

  16. Oh yes, new mission types:

Gold Rush: Beat up Transporters and perform missions to gain Gold, Gold, and more Gold. Kinda reminds me of Timed Onslaught except more focused on getting the moolah.

Recruitment Battle: Kinda reminds me of a mission type in Hyrule Warriors Legends, but it's not entirely the same. Your allied commander for the map will run to yellow forces to recruit them as allies for your team and the enemy commander will send strong units to try to kill whoever it is (or otherwise just kill them if you don't want to spend time on recruiting them). Notably, these recruited allies can include people who are usually fought as opponents such as Iago, and your allied commander can be Darios in addition to the playable characters.
