  1. ##Unvote ##Vote: Nemu Kurotsuchi Went back to look at Nemu's ISO after reading this and there are issues regarding Nemu's progression on her reads. She starts out with voting Estelle and in that post seems pretty confident in Estelle being scum right up until All Might says Estelle's lack of reads is a scumtell and Nemu is suddenly like "Actually I think it reads as genuinely lost town" without much explaining and without moving her vote. She says she needs more time to parse it but instead of parsing it we get a comment on a single post of Estelle that doesn't have to do with her lack of reads, and then Nemu switches to a Sham vote despite very little focus on Sham beforehand. She's really quick to move to Violet (despite going back to Sham right after she then moved back to Violet before Violet posted again) for an "unimpressive catch up" and all 3 of these votes as well as her comments on Ochako feel opportunistic and keeping her options open for where she can put her vote. On a lesser note, I still don't feel like she's giving C. C. the attention she'd be giving C. C. if she was town and her willingness to give C. C. another chance but not Violet is off-putting. Thought I posted this before going rip.
  2. The interaction between Estelle/Nemu where they're talking about C. C./Violet is making me start to like Estelle more and I can buy what she was saying earlier about "when I notice something I'll jump at it" based on how focused she's been on those two.
  3. I don't see the hedging on Ochako. Sham was pretty consistently pushing her up until the unvote, which was explicitly stated to be "giving her a chance." Do you think that, as far as the second half goes, scum!Sham would "blatantly lie" or that "not paying attention" is a scumtell?
  4. Kamina unexpectedly out. Shouldn't be too long.
  5. @Nemu Kurotsuchi I'm in no way 100% caught up, but I want to ask you while you're here how your thought process has evolved on C. C. from where you were like "at least C. C. discusses specific things" and voted Violet to now, when you're willing to vote C. C./Ochako over Violet.
  6. @Olivier and whoever else was having this thought, how was C. C. engaging people in her first post?
  7. 9's got some good things. First off @Sham, I saw you offer All Might some reading lessons. If Marisa shoots me down, how about... Estelle's post on C. C. goes into a lot of detail and brings up some pretty good points, namely C. C.'s failure to address Estelle's substance issues and Nemu's lack of a reaction to C. C. despite their reaction to Violet. I also noticed C. C. seems to be giving a disproportionate amount of attention to only a couple of people, looking out for her thoughts on more than just Olivier/Ochako/Aizen/one line on Sham. That's a weird list of people to take note of imo, especially since you did acknowledge, for example, All Might, but only to comment on his postcount. Think Sham's observation of Nemu creating a false dichotomy is a valid one. Going to ask your thoughts on C. C.'s first post though and my initial thoughts on Violet's post. @All Might walk me through the thought process that led up to your Sham vote. Manly as you may be, I''m ultimately the paragon of manliness and I'm set to veto it. @CĂș Chulainn wasn't the post you linked by Sham their entrance? I don't place much stock in the "they RVSed when there were other things" argument since I myself will sometimes RVS upon entering regardless of what else is going on. On the topic of Ochako, here's what I'm wondering: if she was being pressured to do more by All Might and she resolved to make an effort, would it be a town reaction to call All Might town and then also only question All Might? What I was saying when I agreed with Sham was that it felt way more like she was just putting it out there to get All Might off her back.
  8. Oh, and then All Might take a step back at the top of 9. 'K.
  9. Estelle's vote on C. C. isn't especially bad, I can see @All Might entering the tunnel already at the bottom of page 8. You can't very well get upset about someone not solving and then accuse them of just trying to look good once they start making solvy posts.
  10. Some good questions for me to ask myself probably, putting this here for self reference.
  11. C. C.'s first post has a lot of shadey one-liners thrown about and it finishes with some reconsidering but the work seems half finished. Want to see more here (and yes there may be more past where I've read), especially want to hear what she thinks of my take on Ochako, which is a scumread for a different set of reasons. Speaking of Ochako, probably need to go back and look at her again since I also remember having a thought that she could be new/inexperienced town. Violet's catchup lines up a lot with my thoughts at this point in the thread. Want to see what she thinks of myself and Marisa, I think we both had enough at that point to get some sort of opinion on. Nemu's subsequent vote on Violet feels bad, Violet's post shows some effort to scumhunt in their catchup and I feel like you're just voting there because it's not this long wall with quotes and everything. Put differently, yes there's a summary but it's an analytical summary. The Estelle read's a holdover, I'm on page 8 right now.
  12. Also in agreement with this, something felt off to me about Nemu's first post and how they just responded to my post with "This is good", but I wasn't sure if it was just my paranoia acting up.
  13. Indeed we haven't! Allow me to introduce myself! The reputation of Team Dai-Gurren echoes far and wide. When they talk about its badass leader, the man of indomitable spirit and masculinity...they're talking about me: The Mighty Kamina! Now that that's been established, let me introduce you to my band of blood brothers: AKA the new Team Gurren: All Might, Sham, and Olivier. Cu's also on his way to recieving an invitation. Estelle and Ochako, meanwhile, are what we'd call Beastmen. Even without being caught up though, I still don't feel great about being on a wagon earlier alongside the top two wagons. I literally just got to Violet's first post, so things are about to get interesting. Marisa and Aizen are quickly becoming these revolving door reads where I'll get to the end of a page and scumread them, then get to the end of the next page and townread them. Overall I feel more confident in Aizen being town than Marisa. Your time to shine, I guess, where are you at?
  14. Lol12hours Kamina in. And still pretty far behind but also here to talk while he reads.
  15. Kamina out (for less than 12 hours though).
  16. To an extent it was just "hey, this is what people do during RVS" but pressure can be helpful for getting those rushed posts, yes. Some reactions are more likely to come from town than they are from scum, some scum react very poorly to amassing votes quickly, and all of that good stuff. As for your comment on "slaughtering"...
  17. You're telling me I just joined a wagon with the other two top wagons in the game? How far behind am I?
  18. And what about people who don't talk to you? This "more passive spin" you talking about relies on other people talking to you, and you can't very well ignore anything going on in the game that isn't directly addressed at you. It's surprising that you've at this point found little to push. I do see you becoming more proactive pretty much right after that post, so should be good to see where you go with this. Taking a slight divergence from my catch-up to look at Estelle in some more detail, since she seems a prominent topic but I'm just like "Wait, who?" Only meaningful thing I remembered from her at the start was her Ochako comment and I remember thinking I'd wait to see how she pursued it before getting worked up over it. So first thing of note after than is her 4 townreads on Olivier/Aizen/Sham/Cu and then "a lot of players haven't even posted yet." I don't have a master sheet in front of me of who's posted how many times, but I'm like 98% sure a good number of people had posted than and it seems really weird that you don't have any thoughts on All Might/myself/Ochako here (especially Ochako with your whole meta read on her and stuff). Mention that you think it's "impossible" for someone to have a great reason why someone is scum at this point in the game. Okay, what do you plan to do about that? Sit around until we get to a later point? In the post where you do this you also go back some on your Aizen/Olivier reads. What made you suddenly think of the "scum likes to go after the obvious" bit and why was that bit (something that to my knowledge has nothing supporting it) compelling enough to move him down? Think one thing in Estelle's favor is what she says about her defense of Sham being focused on Sham's defense rather than the quality/quantity of attackers, just since scum's more likely to focus on the attackers when they're defending someone. The ISO gets to a point after this where I don't have context, so back to the catchup we go. I'll also use now to move my vote over to Ochako since I might be gone soon. ##Unvote: Rain Nijika ##Vote: Ochako Uraraka For whoever it was that asked about my not voting Aizen, I didn't feel that fighting spirit (aka conviction) you get when you know you're right. Same goes for Marisa really, I feel confident in an Ochako scumflip based on where I am now though.
  19. @Marisa Kirisame you can read? I can't (even with my glasses)...maybe I can get some lessons later, if you know what I...ahem. I feel opposite from how you do about Aizen's dropping of the RP, think town's more likely to be quick to clarifying what they meant while scum's predisposed to trying to use RP to handwave away an accusation. "Oh, I didn't really mean that thing I said. Just being in character!" Also wouldn't go as far as to say that Aizen "stuck his neck out" for Rain, all he did was ask "is this serious"? Olivier's looking good with that response to Sham and Marisa and I agree with his observation about Marisa being like "maybe the true bad guys haven't posted but also I don't like Aizen." How would you feel about joining Team Dai-Gurren? For what it's worth I find Ochako super obvious, but it doesn't really affect my read on them? Maybe I'm thinking of a different person than you guys.
  20. @Aizen go into details on me. Detail are good. (Until your first detailed plan gets you killed. Go figure.) With your comment on Ochako in response to Sham, I don't care much Ochako inviting people to question her. I care about Ochako being like "you're probably town All Might" and then only having questions for All Might and no one else (and especially since Ochako has this whole "level 3 thought process" that's a pretty big deal). @Sham if you've got any response to this too, feel free. Not sure how you're arriving at the conclusion that Sham was saying Ochako's not confident as scum, Aizen. The whole spotlight/under the radar debate's playstyle stuff, but Ochako's behavior towards All Might indicates a lack of sincerity in her scumhunting. Sham seems more concerned with Ochako being open to questions though, so @Sham what makes you find this scummier than the above about Ochako? Why is it impossible for her approach to be different if she is town? I'm scumleaning Ochako right now and Sham has a good chance of being town after an Ochako scumflip, just don't fully follow why Sham's taken up this line of questioning.
  21. Agree with Sham's comments when they vote Ochako. The fact that Ochako tells All Might "you probably aren't scum" but doesn't seem to be doing much to try and figure out who is is a ping. Granted it's page 5 at this point, but looking out for things like this as I continue. Just helping. I know a manly spirit when I see one, and why not add some more RVS pressure? By the way, if you're ever up for a duel, the mighty Kamina is ready to take you on! Aizen's persistence with the "why don't you lynch me if you think I'm a wolf" makes me think it probably has more to do with playstyle than alignment. Also liking their efforts to clarify differences in how their posts might be affected by RP and breaking the convention when needed, and the bit where they admit to possibly taking things to seriously and adjusting their play based on that in this post: With regards to All Might, does RVS only end then when someone explicitly states they're serious? I guess what I'm trying to get at with Estelle's vote is that her "this vote is random" comment was over-the-top to the extent where I'd be surprised if you took it at face value, and she later outright said in 38 "now I have a reason to vote you" and your response there was only RP related. Will be back to continue soon.
  22. Bit pre-occupied right now, but time to see what I've missed.
  23. Now let's talk about Marisa. I'm in this weird "want to townread her for some reason but can't" state. Unvotes All Might in 44, says the vote's not as interesting but doesn't move to a "more interesting" place. Also says she doesn't think Might's untrustworthy (implying townread). Later explains her disagreements with Might but not why he's no longer an interesting vote, but she seems to find him interesting enough with her comments in 58 and 60. I'm having difficulty getting an idea of where she stands on All Might and Aizen, like I have an idea what her reads are there but have trouble following the progression. As a semi-related question @Marisa Kirisame All Might asked if you think there's a wolf in Rain/Aizen and you said there "could be" and that you leaned Aizen. Should I take this to mean that yes, you think Aizen's a wolf, or only that you think Aizen's more likely to be a wolf than Rain?
  24. I don't know man, you seen Yoko?
