  1. This is pretty entertaining, Can't wait for the next installment.
  2. I'd say this Tier list is about 98% correct which is as high as you can really ever get it, I mean I can argue that Jill (T) should be above Mia (T) and Oscar (T) but someone else can easily disagree.
  3. Feeling a little bit cheeky! Oscar!
  4. Technically so is Gareth, you just don't get them for awhile.
  5. Brom, Rolf Looked like you needed some characters for other...Well, I won't spoil it!
  6. Give Miccy the dracoshield ASAP and hope for some good speed growths, hell I think this would be more enjoyable on normal mode but oh well, beggers can't be choosers. Jill is going to kick ass! by the way
  7. Volug is a temporary character at best but with the units you gain access to in Part IV why would that even be a concern? Should Volug have AMAZING growths he'll still be less valuable than someone like I don't know...Nailah?
  8. Honestly it depends on what difficulty playthrough you are going to play on Radiant Dawn. I didn't find Ilyana to be amazingly more beneficial to anyone on easy but on HM I don't know how I ever got around without her. I don't think you need to focus too much on Sothe though as he isn't great in RD and the moments he is great he's usually going to be OP enough as it is and he never has any problem capping any stats. Jill is probably the best character you can get transfers on IMO and Ike is definitely worth it too, Soren is a tough one but probably worth it as well I guess. I would recommend following some sort of strategy like this Zihark or Mia Giffca because...Instant Str cap Elincia, can cap 5 stats + HP Marcia or Tanith (Not needed that much if you choose to pick Nephenee but still do-able) Jill Shinon Ulki (Str cap) Gatrie or Brom Kieran Titania Nephenee Ilyana or Soren Boyd Callil? - Get's Largo's stats too I wouldn't use: Oscar - Silver Knights suck to be honest... Mist - Still useless even with Transferred stats Volke - Comes too late, and a weak class Ranulf/Lethe - Cat gauge, eww Stefan - Comes too late, Mia/Zihark > Stefan Most of the CRK - Apart from Kieran, temporary units at best Haar - He rocks as it is, and is a lot more trouble than it's worth to get him a speed cap Lucia - See Stefan Bastian - See Volke Geoffrey - See Oscar Rolf - -/1 to 20/20 is just a complete waste of experience especially on a unit without a 1-2 range Sothe - You can use train him if you have the spare experience but not necessary Tauroneo - Not worth the investment of speedwings/energy drops etc Janaff - Unable to max strength without ED whereas Ulki can without the need of an ED. Rhys - Bishop class...Lol Tormod - Availability Hope this clears it up a bit for you man. I Might repost my save again if I get the opportunity.
  9. Laura Laura is just...FE10's Moulder the healer that helps while she's there but she certainly isn't end game material and she is soon over shadowed by Micaiah. I know she gains access to light magic but Micaiah does that anyway and she also gains staves on promotion making Laura practicaly useless after part 1 and useless for part 4 because there are better bishops/saints out there and who uses them that often anyway? I know I know if you ACTUALLY invest in her she COULD be useful right?...Yeah, she isn't I mean even on easy mode you could put that same BEXP into Edward and just have him destroy everything with Nolan, Volug, Zihark and Jill. Just ditch her after part 1. Pros Staves Light Magic on promotion ... Cons Where to start... Level 1 Staff locked Light magic sucks Waste of CEXP/BEXP Low defence Doubled by everything Low hp Bad movement Slow exp gain (11 exp a heal) NM Rating 2.0 HM Rating 5.5 (Only because healing is needed so much more in HM)
  10. Characters I like to cap Jill get's the most out of anyone in transfers as she starts out quite fragile in RD and if she get's transfers she can then start to 0RKO units. Ilyana in my opinion is worth it even in the short term as with transfers she can also start to double (not too sure if she can in HM) and can start to kill units on her own rather than just chipping in. Boyd is worth it in my opinion, this fixes his dodgy speed and defence and that extra bit of HP will keep him alive in a pinch. Nephenee can sometimes struggle in normal mode so I think giving her a transfer can really help especially as she can gain a lot of levels in parts 2, 3 and 4. Sothe can really come in useful just for tanking to allow weaker units to level up but if you're not going to use him for that then there isn't much point as he'll cap everything anyway. Titania is difficult to cap but I always find it worth it, I use her in nearly every RD playthrough and I think the investment pays off Soren for the same reasons as Ilyana IF you can cap his speed. Giffca...No explanation needed. Mia to fix those early chapter strength and defence issues. Characters I would advise against capping Shinon is going to kick ass regardless, invest the experience in someone else Oscar isn't that great even with transfers and he has bad caps, besides I find Gold Knights > Silver paladins in RD Rhys isn't going to do much with caps and probably won't keep up with the rest of you're team anyway Mist still won't be dealing decent damage with transfers so why does she need transfers to heal and run? Zihark seems to cost too much effort to invest in him when he comes over-leveled and will probably be outshined by Mia. Brom, I just never found him a long term unit Geoffrey/tormod/muarim - Availability Any cat laguz simply because of the gauge Tauroneo - doesn't need it Can't think of anyone else.
  11. You can't pick all 3 herons... and Cain isn't in this game I think you might mean Kieran?
  12. "Zihark NEEDS his supports. If, for any reason, Muarim, Ilyana, or Brom are not played or are out of range Zihark's avoid advantage vanishes." "Additionally, Mia can get even more attack if Rhys is in play. You can argue that's unlikely, sure, especially for LTC. But it's still not IMPOSSIBLE." Is Mia really worth bringing a unit like Rhys in over someone else? Muarim can at least contribute something. Look at how much trouble we have to go through to make Mia "better" than Zihark an energy drop as well as bringing in Rhys who most people dump because he's a temporary unit at best.
  13. Ahh I see, I'll try to find a way to get them up permanantly next time i'm on my home computer thanks for letting me know they stopped though.
  14. In the RD section I have uploaded a cleared data saved file (a few) you can delete those and start a new game with bands.
  15. Chuck Nolan Nolan is the sort of character who comes in at a great time and stays great pretty much till end game. I tend to use him on nearly every play through because it's just too much effort to NOT use him. Nolan is the type of character who like everyone else (Albeit Haar) has weaknesses but what is great about Nolan is that they are easily cured! Stat deficencies? Invest BEXP! Quite fragile? Pair his support with Zihark or Volug for a whopping +45 Avoid as well as getting tarvos (+4 Defence), and finally once promoted Nolan can begin to use Crossbows although with stats as good as Nolan's why would you want to? Pros Great stats Access to decent 1-2 range (lolwindedge) Gains Xbows on promotion PRF weapons Good Growths Earth Affinity Tank Cons Dawn Brigade availability Has competition for Endgame + Urvan In harder modes can struggle to get EXP NM Rating: 9.0 HM Rating 9.5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sothe Sothe is a unit a lot of people dislike but I genuinely find him useful, Sothe is a jeigan...without a horse...or decent weapons...and badish availability but don't let that stop you from using him because Sothe is a unit that that demands very little but is necessary on HM and still useful on NM. Like Micaiah, Sothe costs no deployment and his weaponry will probably last throughout all of part 1 and although he slows down a bit in part 3 he does have a beast killer to deal with those pesky Laguz and an A support with Micaiah and if that stll isn't enough to get you to stop questioning his durability he can also get PoR transfers. Pros Jeigan...Kinda Thief utility Incredible defence for a thief Pre-promote A-Support with Micaiah Best growths I think I have ever seen (He's capped everything at level 12 for me with bonuses before) Cons His usefulness dwindles as game progresses Bit of an EXP hog Knives :S That shirt... Takes ages to hit third tier (and when he does it's in the desert so useless) I like using Sothe and he is necessary for part 1 but he's a real liability in part 4 so I don't get too excited about using him for that reason alone. Sothe is ok to use but...shouldn't be used excessively when units like Nolan need experience and Volug needs strike levels. NM Rating 8.0 HM Rating 9.0
  16. I agree with bringing Largo up over Elincia for a few reasons. Elincia get's her own brave sword which is nice but she never get's the strength she needs to back it up even when she has a capped strength (20), if this was at chapter 20 or so then yes I she would be pretty useful but it isn't. Largo isn't that durable granted but Elincia if she doesn't kill something and then get out of the way (which isn't always possible with canto) then I have to bring all my other characters around her to guard her, furthermore Largo isn't receiving bonus damage from snipers and ballista's. Ok but Elincia's main usefulness is healing and rescuing but we have Mist for that and we have probably already invested a lot of experience in Mist for the BK fight and the longer contribution she has made in the previous 20 chapters, so why would we bring Elincia as well? If we need another healer at any point just keep a staff on Soren or Ilyana or someone. Just my opinion, don't hate.
  17. im really impressed at what you are achieving on this play through keep it up man.
  18. Edward: Edward is actually a very decent Myrmidon/swordsmaster/trueblade and usually turns out the best out of the 5 you get if you are willing to invest in him. Edward may seem a bit fragile when you first get him but that actually works in his favor because of his inept wrath skill which is pretty much going to guarentee a KO. Edwards contributions to the Dawn Brigade are fantastic...until chapter 6 when Zihark comes along most likely at a higher level as well. The majority of people just pick one of the swordmasters to use and although you could train the two of them and then have Zihark switch sides to the GM later on it would just be so much easier to train Zihark and Mia instead. Edward is a fantastic unit and you aren't going to lose anything by using him and he surely will not let you down but the problem is that everyone in Micaiah's team is hungering for experience you could master seal him but then he isn't going to end up as good as the other trueblades stat wise so then what's the point? Edward does get his own PRF weapon the Caladbolg which raises his luck and allows him to become just that much harder to hit/critical. Pros Will double everything Turns out the best trueblade Inept Wrath Caladbolg Great availability Cons Needs a lot of EXP Fragile at first Needs a lot of EXP Outshined by Zihark later on Needs a lot of EXP To conclude, Edward is a fantastic unit and you lose nothing by using him but he needs too much EXP and you want him to warm the bench later on when he isn't needed anymore. NM rating: 5.5 HM rating 3.5 (He is helpful every now and again in the first few chapters of HM but he can be a hinderance at times)
  19. I'm going to rate units based solely on my opinion and I would love to hear what other people think even if you disagree with my opinion. I have played every single unit in this game and they are all useful to an extend and I'll make sure I rate them to the extent that they are useful. For example I think Laura arguably contributes more to the Dawn Brigade than Rhys does to the Greil Mercenaries mainly because mist is there to heal as well but nonetheless. I will also rate NM (normal mode ratings) and HM (hard mode ratings) as well to please as many people as possible. Characters completed Micaiah Edward Leonardo Nolan Sothe Micaiah: Cons Micaiah is one of those units no one really wants to train but usually ends up having to anyway in this case it's because Micaiah is force deployed in every map she is available for. Micaiah is the games only light mage and she isn't very good as one in all honesty with terrible growths in defence, strength and speed with pretty terrible caps for HP and not much growth for it anyway. Micaiah is most likely going to get ORKO'd if any physical class get's in reach of her so she requires pretty much 24/7 meat shielding in a group of just as fragile units. Micaiah can't even be given BEXP efficiently because of her luck growth being so high and her others being so low she wouldn't benefit from it as much as other units because luck on Micaiah is almost useless because we tend to keep her away from combat as much as possible. Pros Micaiah has a completely different set of Pros than most other units let's start first of all with the Thani tombs she obtains, Micaiah get's two of these awesome tombs which are exclusive to her and they deal bonus damage to both cavaliers and knights and 98% of the time take them out with 1 hit. Micaiah also has use to the sacrifice skill which gives away some of her hp to heal another character for however many LP she has lost as well as healing them from any status ailments which is useful because there is a fair bit of venin weaponry in Micaiah's chapters such as the swamp chapter or 1-E. Micaiah is one of the few units I've encountered (possibly the only one?) with 20 skill points at tier 1 which means she can be given skills such as paragon to make those level ups so much easier from chapter 1-7 onwards or something like Resolve to increase her speed. One more great thing about Micaiah is that she doesn't cost to be deployed as she is force deployed so you are losing out on nothing by using her and if you don't want her getting into combat then just wait until she get's her first promotion and then she can just use her physic staves from afar. Finally Micaiah has 1-2 range being a magic user and all so she can always chip in from the back you just have to be a bit weary of hand axe/javelins/wind edge/bow users. EDIT:She also has an A support with Sothe which is actually pretty great especially in part 1 To conclude, you lose out on nothing by using Micaiah, she is force deployed so make the most of her. She can help out a bit with sacrifice and supporting from afar but sometimes she can be a liability and after part 1 she isn't going to be doing much apart from healing anyway. NM rating: 6/10 HM rating: 5/10 (Necessary at times but also the cause of most of your game over screens) Leonardo: Cons Not as good as other snipers such as Shinon Needs a lot of exp in a group that also need a lot of exp No enemy phase counter-attacking Usually struggles to double hit or even hit a good damage Not durable at all so may require a lot of baby sitting Pros Can range from afar >.> Useful for chipping away at enemies Get's his own PRF weapon Comes with Dracoshield There really is not a lot to say about Leonardo and apart from drafts or PMU I don't see why you would use him as there are better archers out there than him and also better units he could actually be salvaged slightly if he could use crossbows but by the time you actually get crossbows for him to get any benefit out of him you would of either had to train him up 20 levels or dump a load of Bexp into him both aren't very practical. Leonardo is one of those units who is there to help out in the first couple of chapters but err not much more. NM rating: 4/10 HM rating 2/10 (Warms the bench as soon as he isn't force deployed any more)
  20. Best personality: Ike as he doesn't care for lords or nobles and he even raises his voice to Apostle Sanaki and can get inprisoned for it, Ike holds no grudges against Laguz and is happy to help anyone else he meets along the way out and really shows a lot of respect. I think he can be a bit hot headed at times but so what? It's really only against the black knight and for everything else he has Soren. Worst personality: Devdan, someone with no actual skill or personality...at all... I could of put Mia down but my personal opinion on Mia is she isn't with the mercenaries to chatter and develop her personality she just wants to kick some ass which she rarely does because she kinda sucks in PoR. Best Gameplay: Titania, she doesn't need help training and she is almost necessary in the early chapters where Marcia is pretty useful (mostly in LTC) she is often over-shadowed by other units late game such as Jill although she is still useful and mandatory for LTC I don't think there is anyone who can oppose to Titania's usefulness in this game simply because she is your most useful for the first twelve chapters. Worst Gameplay: Devdan...again... this is a guy who comes at a later joining time than Nephenee (8 chapters) and has worse stats and doesn't even have Wrath, Devdan doesn't even end up good as a 20/20 unit he seems like a mediocore 20/14 unit. I think someone like Sothe can at least pick locks and steal, for free, but Devdan seems absolutely pointless especially as this is a mount dominated game. Commiserations Best personality 2nd Place: Shinon, he is HILARIOUS I love the way he is always ribbing Ike and complaining about Sub-Humans etc. 3rd Place: Volke, him not letting us see his personality is actually his personality Worst personality 2nd Place: I really like him but Zihark what use are you for your personality? 3rd Place: Largo, you marry Callil and lose an arm that is litterally all anyone knows about you. Best Gameplay 2nd Place: Marcia, great unit, full stop. 3rd Place: Oscar is in my opinion the strongest mount in the game. Worst Gameplay 2nd Place: Rhys, he isn't a fighter and he is made redundant in my opinion as soon as Mist comes along 3rd Place: Rolf, too much work has to go into him and even then he is useless on enemy phase
  21. Honestly I am glad you mentioned Tauroneo and I think he is the best investment of the boots although you may have to wait a bit longer than you would of liked, just having him keep up with the majority of the party is going to be a major boost I would of thought. Tauroneo with his high base stats and resolve seems to me that he's going to be the only person capable of actually killing anything late-game albeit Ena without relying on a lucky dodge the next turn.
