  1. Hmm, fair enough. I figured that it wouldn't be too hard to follow both, plus I never thought it was that necessary to read the dialogue unless it went over my head and I have to reread it myself. Seeing this is a hack, I guess I'll pay more attention to the story from now on. Mah bad :<

  3. Fraps and audacity are good. Just play audacity while recording and sync them up together in Camtasia, Sony Vegas or Movie Maker. I recommend the first two though.

  6. Gah! What are ya doin', Ghast! All jokes aside, I'm happy this is finally out. From what I've seen so far the changes are much needed. Now I can continue my let's play of it
  7. Oh, I'd also like to add that IF you do get something solid, I'd be happy to write out a story, supports and some music. I don't know much about iDOLM@ASTER, but I have friends that like it, plus a little researching on the subject never hurts. Until you have something solid however (portraits, vague plot, etc), I'll wait. I do have my own project I'm working on so I'd only like to work on this if something is made out of it.

  10. In all honesty I think this is a really interesting, but interesting/difficult ideas are often hard to pull off. If you can get something started I'd like to see where it goes though.

  14. Gee, with literally every hack having an LP done on it it seems like only one hack isn't getting any love... *cough* Err, anyways, gotta love this chapter. And yeah, you should stick with one LP until you finish it.
  15. I once had a few stories involving characters that weren't a mercenary or royal status. One was with a merchant as the main protagonist and another was a historian which was eventually changed into a historian and socially hardened princess :^) And of course, there's Death or Glory which stars a regular soldier. You can do pretty much anything as long as you can justify it in the story. I also saw this coming with multiple people being beta testers. Though, I didn't see anyone being capable of starting a full-fledged project with the first release assumed being a lot later in the year. Still, I am interested at seeing where this project will go with it being the first XNA project on the site. Guess this is my queue to get back to working on my hack and wait patiently for XNA.
  16. In all seriousness, that's a nice lookin' map. I suppose I can assume that this is being done in XNA, seeing it looks different to EXP. I could be wrong though because I'm never keeping up with these things.
  17. Although I think it's cool someone thought of that, the only problem I see is that there were a lot of real-time events in that game, like destroying towers or reinforcing them. If you could find a way to work around it however, then go for it for sure.

I feel like it should be up there as a subforum with Hacking concepts, etc. called something like Let's Plays and Guides, seeing someone posted a guide to Elibian Nights rather than it being a let's play. I mean, if you want to look at a let's play wouldn't you usually want to look only at that let's play? Sometimes people just want to focus on hacks, other times, let's plays. When both are on the same forum it can be annoying, as one can overshadow the other.
  19. Just a random ass question, but will there be capabilities of having S rank supports? For my particular intention it isn't exactly for children, but just for more personal character development.
  20. Gotta put this out, these are fucking sexy. I ain't even a (fury) and I'll admit that. My interest in this hack has shot up to the no. 2 spot (Death or Glory wins, soz ;_;).
  21. Alright, so I finally finished this hack, mainly due to the difficulties I was having with chapter 10 due to not buying healing items in the previous chapter because I'm stupid. Anyways... really impressed. The story, the gameplay, the characters; everything speaks to you. You feel the characters, you don't just play the game for fun, the characters are an integral part of it. I don't have any screenshots for the characters by the end, but all I can say is that most of the characters felt fine. - I think I got RNG fucked with Vidar though, while Tero was a monster, having 19 strength, 16 skill and 14 speed at level 18, with the rest of his stats being all near 10. - Ragnar was a smack-in-the-middle of the road character; he had no strengths, no weaknesses. Every stat except for luck reached at least 10 by level 17, which is exactly what I expect from a regular soldier aiming to make a difference, as you stated. - Abner was a MONSTER. He had 12 for everything except for resistance, which was at 6 and speed, which was at 19, all at level 18. The rest of the cast was pretty much normal, having growths that complimented their class well.
