  1. This is fantastic, really. I'm glad FEXNA is exceeding my expectations by a long mark. Incidentally, though I'm not a big fan of what appear to be Anime girls with bunny/cat ears (I know, my avatar would suggest otherwise but to put simply I don't really watch much Anime) everything looks really well-done. Also, if music can be inserted without it having to be a certain file or have certain restrictions I am able to provide some musical compositions. I have an FE-styled boss theme sitting on my computer that I did months ago already, but I can do more.
  2. I urge anybody to check out this all-girls Japanese fusion/avant garde rock band. I NEVER thought I'd say that, cause I don't listen to music like that at ALL. Seriously, these girls are bloody incredible. If you like them, I would love it if you spread the word about them. It's one of the first times I've actually felt like this for a new band. For any music geeks, they play in complex time signatures, such as 9/8, 3/4, 6/4, 7/4 and 11/4.   3. Hmm, they look good, but I think the female and males look a little TOO alike. I know you want to make them look practically the same, but you should add a few more distinctive features. For example, long hair on the female, more refined eyebrows, perhaps earrings or a slightly smaller body structure. Wait for more expert opinions, I'm just throwing them out so you have an opinion on the site.

  6. I haven't uploaded anything in a while so I decided to get back into the swing of let's playing. While Bloodlines 1.4 is still in beta testing, I'm gonna be playing Final Fantasy VI and possibly another game or two depending on my mood. Final Fantasy VI is one of my favourite RPGs of all time, along with overall games for its incredible story and characters. My upload rate will be just like Bloodlines: Depending on my mood. I'd like to upload daily before I go back to school in a few days, so that may happen.   7. Well, of course it has to be your Bloodlines Sprites <3 But to be more specific, in regards to sprite animations, probably Mal's in Bloodlines. For portraits, perhaps anything from Dream of Five, cause I just think the sprites look beautiful.
  8. WOWEE THIS IS FANTASTIC. WHY, THIS MIGHT BE THE GREATEST DISCOVERY SINCE... AIR... On a serious note, 'tis lookin' absolutely spankly dankly; in other words it looks amazing. Is the map you showed going to be like a pre-chapter area? With the rapport system existing there I figured it was going to be as such, but then again it might follow you throughout the game so I'm just takin' a jab at it.

  10. I remember a couple of years ago I was talking with Markyjoe about FE hacking, so I joined this site, but I was too young to sit still and get down with the tutorials. I stopped out of nowhere from about 5 years ago then since about a year ago, I came back to FE scene after Awakening came out. I was hooked on Awakening and remembered that FE hacking was a thing so I came back and checked out to see how much progress everyone made. To my surprise, The Last Promise wasn't Tactics Universe and was completely finished, Elibean Nights was practically finished and many other hacks I had never heard of that looked incredible had come out of the woodwork. It got me really excited, thinking, "well, if all these people can do something so incredible, I can at least give it a shot." Unfortunately due to lack of time I hadn't been able to sit down and solidify a story that I have written. So, in the mean time I've occasionally come on and posted mostly on concepts to help those that ARE doing something move along their project. Recently, I did a beta test for Scions of Kings, mainly for the text and directional writing. I hope to do more with it, as I have many things I have to show Oreo in regards to the hack. That's my story, so now you know. Move onto another, give us a show!

  14. Well, I suppose you could. I think map design would be vital to make it feel different every chapter rather than a monotonous process. I think one of the things I'd like to add is that only she can go to villages and get items in the process, or she's the only one that can recruit characters, making it more of a challenge to recruit someone. I suppose she could class change at level 10 as even if every chapter felt different it's bound to get annoying to do after 10 chapters.
  15. The story is still heavily in progress, so I just want to share an idea until I have more to share. So I have a concept of a main character who has absolutely no fighting ability but you must use in every chapter. She has low stats that aren't suited for combat and is treated like a mounted Merlinus and the goal throughout every chapter is to not only pass the conditions, but you must prevent her from dying every chapter. At the end of the chapter, like Merlinus, she levels up. She does not receive exp when she's attack and lives. When reaching level 20, she promotes into a combat class. I know this is a difficult gimmick to pull off without making it feel redundant, but is the idea a good one if I were to implement it well?
  16. I had an idea like this, but the difference was that the Princess wasn't a usable character and there were many other plot things related to the reason. I hope to see something made out of this eventually. Good to see a bunch of new hacks coming to light, whether they're work-in-progress or just ideas written on paper.

U-Umm, I too can beta test, b-but no one can vouch for me so you'd probably not want my petty views and opinions. :^( I have a Bloodlines let's play that I haven't finished but am continuing within 2-3 days that you can check out (Finally caught up on school work and can chill out for the next month or so, so I'll be able to finish it and give a more "review" perspective if it'd please you). Overall, I can provide good insight on things to improve, like dialogue interpretation, characterisation, enemy placement, etc. In other words, the little, more in-depth things. On the other hand, if you're already up to your neck with beta testers I'll sit it out; I know what it's like when someone you probably haven't seen on this forum before just bargin' inta yo' hood askin' to beta test.
  18. Personally I think Radiant Dawn had the best mechanics. It just felt perfect for me. Problem is, the game was all over the place and there was never a solid point where you could chill out with 1 team for more than 6-7 chapters, besides the first part. I'd like to go back to a simplistic story with a whole new background, as Awakening felt the need to force itself as a distant Akaneia sequel. In regards to mechanics, I'd like to see the magic triangle back for sure. I'm not too concerned with the split class system for mages, but a magic split would be good, like in Path of Radiance. I also feel the need to have playable soldiers back, as well as split classes for the cavalier and armour soldiers.

  20. Well first off do you want to do a screenshot or a video let's play? What game do you want to play through? Personally I think if you want to make something interesting or fun, it's setting guidelines (using shit characters in an FE game) or having a very informative let's play that pretty much covers everything you need to know about the game. Also doing something casual, like playing through a game while talking with a friend on Skype, just talking about games and things in the game you're playing (e.g. Slowbeef and Diabetus do it a lot, check them to see what I mean).
  21. I'm pretty surprised that Lot got TWO strength increases, with a growth rate that's really low (the same as Shanna's, I shit you not). Don't be expecting 6-7 stat level ups every now and then; it's a blue moon experience. Personally, I think if you can get lucky with 4-6 speed before promoting Wade, he can be decent, but that's pretty lucky.
  22. God, everyone is so frantic for a release on this project, along with what its capabilities are. I'm gonna be bluntly honest; there won't be that many people that will actually complete a project with FEXNA who have never touched ROM hacking before. Only those that are truly passionate about making an FE game will actually keep something consistent, while most people that are overzealous will get disappointed that you still have to do a lot of work in FEXNA. There will also be others that realise that making and completing a project is a lot harder than simply coming up with an idea. You can write an idea and I mean a bloody good one, but actually making a game revolve around it is not an easy job at all. Just because it's made in a program and is a standalone tool doesn't mean it's going to be piss easy to use. I'm annoyed that Yeti (Klok and Skitty answer some too I suppose) gets all these questions that have been asked a million times, along with people that won't stop asking for its release. If you really want to use it for your project, you'll wait patiently. Or if you're really THAT impatient, start on this so-called "project" of yours with a rom. If you can't handle basic commands in Nightmare or FE Adv, I can ensure you that FEXNA won't be a cakewalk either.
