  1. Is there still plans to reimplement the amie minigame? The OP says there is but it hasn't been updated in months...
  2. Yeah you're right, but the project naga patch increases it to 8mb.
  3. I wish the project naga patch worked with virtual console injection...
  4. I believe shadow dragon's Japanese script is identical to the original fe1 script, so the endings for shadow dragon would be the full ones iirc.
  5. Nice, this is really helpful! I'm almost done with a complete patch for the first chapter just in case you want to update it when it comes out (also thanks for mentioning my patch in this :) )
  6. That'd be great, but I'm actually not planning on starting any voice acting restoration. I'm just going to lay the hacking groundwork for that kind of thing, if someone else wants to take it up that would be awesome :) Also, the text in this game was actually rewritten in fe12, so I'm not exactly sure yet. I'll try to get the first chapter finalized in a few days after I insert the actual dialogue.
  7. Ok it's been a while since this has been updated But I'm actually going to restart this project and try to actually finish at least the first game. I realized that some edits I made to the game that I thought fixed compatibility with zsnes actually f****d up the clock, as Kiddo mentioned earlier in this thread. Also, I kind of just threw the translation into some empty space as I went through with translating, so internally it's a bit of a mess. So I'm basically going to start over with a clean rom. I'm also going to try to implement a better menu font and try to make the the dialogue font variable width. Now, as for what Kiddo said earlier on as far as a restoration project, that may happen. I'm pretty confident that I can implement a msu1 solution into the roms a la the bs zelda project. This would allow for the introduction, complete soundtrack, and ending to be restored; maybe even the voice acting if it were redone like BS Zelda was. Of course that would all be up to someone else after I implement the msu1, I don't have any experience in those areas. So yeah, that's where we are right now.
  8. From the rhdn thread: http://www.mediafire.com/download/047bdpvvl8yiv5t/project_naga_beta_5_6mb_test.zip
  9. Yeah, sorry about that. I unblocked it, not sure what I did to block it to begin with.
  10. Yeah, I have played FE12 so I'm familiar with the story. I agree, it has a really great story. It's more than just you're usual "bad kingdom invades good kingdom" story that a lot of the games seem to follow.
  11. Wow, I forgot about this. I'm really excited for this to be completed! I've never played FE3 before, but I plan on giving it a try when this is complete :)
  12. Wow, glad to see someone's working on this! Finally I can play FE1 and my OCD will be happy :)
  13. Wow, this topic is long overdue for an update I have to apologize for my absence, I haven't been able to work on this over the last few months due to a hard drive failure involving a cup of coffee Luckily I had most of my important files backed up, but not the work on this translation. But I don't think I did much after I released the current patch, so hopefully I can resume working on this very soon.
  14. Thanks for testing it! Yeah, I haven't touched any of the dialogue except the boss's dialogue. bookofholsety, if you don't mind could you check that one when you get a chance as well? I just guessed using google translate for that one since I wanted to test editing the dialogue. What is that in the second to last screenshot? I thought it was the "enemy stole" message but I'm not sure. As soon as I get the translations I'll insert them and move onto chapter 2. Also, I know the option is probably somewhere, but I can't find it. Is there a way to edit the title of a thread? I'd like to change it and make it more general since I'm doing all four of them.
  15. Well, I haven't tried every snes emulator out there, mainly just higan and snes9x. I heard that two versions of snes9x called snes9x SE and snes9x GT have good compatibility with satellaview roms so I'll try to test them asap and let you guys know.
  16. No, it hasn't been translated, but the remake in FE12 has. Actually, the game takes exactly 4 hours to play. Each "chapter" is 1 hour. In each chapter, the objective is to basically survive and collect points for opening chests, killing enemies, etc. Reinforcements continue to pour in until the chapter is over, making it a lot more difficult than the remake.
  17. BS Fire Emblem Archanean Chronicles Serenes Forest page - http://serenesforest.net/general/bs-fire-emblem/ More info and script translations - http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8989 Basically I'm redoing the entire patch (not like there was much to begin with). I'll be focusing on the first chapter right now, but the plan is to eventually move onto the other three. Compatibility with SNES GT is the priority for this patch; the old one ran on SNESGT and ZSNES but the clock had issues. Rather than fixing it to work with an obsolete emulator I'm just going to make sure it works on SNESGT. Download SNESGT here. Version 0.5 Download (7/9/16, 10:27 PM EST) So there's the first "official version". I used the menus from the old patch, I know they're pretty ugly but they'll be improved in the next release; I just wanted to get this one out. Credit for translation goes to bookofholsety. What's Done? - All dialogue (pre-battle quotes, death quotes, etc) - Menus (they're in rough shape, will be revised soon) What's Left to Do? - Reinforcement message - Adjusting width of letters* (it looks rather ugly right now) - Item descriptions - Anything I may have missed *About the font ~ The game appears to have a VWF built in already for the dialogue font. If this is the case then it is just a matter of finding the width table and adjusting the values accordingly. If anyone has any knowledge as far as FE3 hacking goes and knows how to manipulate the letter widths, please let me know . (FE3 and BSFE share the same engine, so most of the time what's applicable to one is also applicable to the other)
  18. Not yet :) After MP2E releases Resire, the script still needs to be retranslated/rewritten. I'm not sure who's going to be doing that, I'm sure bookofholsety or gringe can answer that. And then of course there's the graphics. I've been trying to find out how to edit the intro but I haven't had any success. I'm relatively new to asm on SNES so its pretty difficult. The original patch for FE4 that I mentioned in the first post is on serenes forest. The one you linked to is the exact same one, its just updated with official names.
  19. I haven't actually ever played FE6 with this patch, my last playthrough was with the old patch. I must say I'm impressed. It was like playing a whole new game. The dialogue is interesting and flows nicely. When I played the old patch some of the dialogue was just a chore to read. Plus it's also nice to see the intro and class roll translated. Most translation patches don't even touch that stuff, but this one went above and beyond to provide a very professional translation. Great job guys! Oh, and yeah I plan to use the link arena too. It'd be nice if you cleaned it up a little, but it's not really necessary.
  20. Now, I know this isn't an error, but shouldn't FE1 be called "Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light"? It was called that in SSBB. Even if you don't want to go by Brawl since SSB isn't consistent with names (Sword of Seals vs Binding Blade), at the end of Shadow Dragon, it does translate 'Dark' as 'Shadow' and 'Sword' to 'Blade'. (I'll put it in a spoiler tag just in case) Plus throughout FE11 "dark" is replaced by "shadow" many times (ex War of Darkness -> War of Shadows)
  21. Yes, that's what it's from. Anyways, the patch has been updated. Just some minor fixes, and I also fixed the dance and trade commands. I'm going to see if I can expand the menu box next so we can fit the entire command, rather then just "Trd" or "Atk". If it's anything like the FE3/BSFE menu box then it shouldn't be too hard.
  22. Hmm, its not translated in the patch on serenes forest.
  23. Okay, I fixed the staves and updated some of the other items to their official names. The combat window sadly is compressed just like the status labels, so for now it's not editable. The patch is available in the first post. I'm going to try my best to figure out how to edit the status labels, but so far everything I've tried doesn't work. Edit - I've managed to find the email of Luxifer Angel, the guy who made the original menu patch. I emailed him about editing the compressed text. I'm not getting my hopes up though, the patch was last updated over 10 years ago. Even if he still uses that email, he may not remember. Oh well, it's worth a shot!
