  1. Oh, right, Meredith does look kind of elvish... Other than that, Sonia couldn't tell how serious the woman was being, especially after that laugh. "There isn't as much news coming out of the tundra as the woods, that seems like enough of a reason to travel there, right?"
  2. "And if you don't have a particular destination in mind, I'm sure the others would welcome you regardless?" None of them were really in a position to be recruiting, but the opportunity was there.
  3. Hm? Is she trying to imply something? And apparently the shopkeeper was on good terms with Meredith? Perhaps she was less dour than she seemed. "That shouldn't be a problem as long as they're warm and they fit." The latter part would probably be more difficult.
  4. Especially when Toon has around the same level of power (Kid uses swords sized for Darknuts) and an equally large arsenal at a much younger age.
  5. Aah, but Zinnia's part of the plot is riddled with implications~ I thought it was stated outright that she named the Whismur after another Aster, who died prior to the plot, and you could pretty easily read her as being suicidal and/or unable to move on after that.

I think the point is more "Persian actually does something well enough to exist in OU" Just looking at damage calculations for the thing, I'm surprised at how far Absol-tier defenses actually went in RBY.
  7. That's what I'm assuming, since I originally got the thing in a trade myself and couldn't even trade the original back to the friend that gave it to me. Definitely going to try again then.
  8. There are/were already some floating around, actually (yay wonder trade~). I've been breeding them like crazy for a few days now, though the game isn't allowing me to trade them.
  9. Is it just me or do all of these shops look the same? "I've just heard that it's dangerous out there, is all. I'm not sure how much of it is true." The less that was said about just how dangerous it was supposed to be, the better. "You're probably right, though, no sense in worrying about it." The rumors probably do more to keep people away than whatever monsters might be in there.
  10. ^ Complete the national dex for it, just like BW2 and XY~ So dexnav chaining doesn't work? Odd, I've heard of people (successfully) chaining for shinies with it. Confirmation bias, then?
  11. Lilycove has the 110 power moves, yes. Thunderbolt is after the legendary plot (so you can bring it to Wallace) and Flamethrower is in Victory Road.

I think it's more that offense was at least a bit less crazy, as Dondon mentioned, and there's also the older EV mechanics to consider. Basically, weaker offense and stronger defense: In gens 1-2, Tauros has 299 attack in a metagame where even the glass cannons got full defensive investment, today you have things like Kyurem-B (the LO set's attack is more than double that, I think?) running around in OU without being grossly overpowered, and only 508 EVs to play with. It might not have been stally, but I don't think it was as rocket tag-y. It's kind of telling when mega evolution can spike up a mon's offenses into the 160+ range and they would still not hit as hard as if they had a life orb or choice item unless they had a really good ability... Which might be why tough claws and adaptability are on all of them.
  13. 'We'd better make it! Just think of the things we might find in there!' ...Is what Sonia would have said if she didn't think another outburst would make them uncomfortable. A simple "I'm ready" seemed like a much safer choice . "Neither of you seem that worried about this", on the other hand...

Thanks! I'm as quick at responding to these as I am at making Masquerade posts.

  15. That stopped her dead in her tracks. "You're joking. Tell me you're joking." Angus's complete lack of mirth suggested that he was not. That, or he had the world's best poker face. "You're serious! That's incredible! I mean, there are stories, but to actually see it in person? Nobody's ever made it out alive, we could be the first! Gods, I can't even begin to imagine the kinds of things that might be in there! It's just..." Right. Normal people don't gush about ancient haunted castles in the middle of a crowded street. Oops. "Er, sorry. Still... Karstell. Amazing~"
  16. "I'm coming too. I don't think I have anything warm enough for a tundra" Sonia added. Speaking of... "The only things out there are caves and Karstell, right? And I don't think we'll be going to Karstell."
  17. "Did she say where, exactly? I must have missed whatever announcement she made about it." Hopefully that was the case, and the boss didn't just forget to tell half of the group or something.

Same kind of thing as Lucario, right? Where you won't know which set you have to counter until it's killed your would-be check?
  19. You start there in Hordes of the Underdark, I think? The Galatine in Warframe seems pretty cool. Asala and Vigilance in Dragon Age, too. Also have a bit of a soft spot for the generic scimitar in Dark Souls.
  20. "I guess she's's in a good mood today...? " Certainly a vast improvement over last night, though the speed at which it happened was strange... "Er, nice to meet you too, Meredith. Why would you be worried about freezing to death? It hasn't been that cold lately, has it?"
  21. A poison move that hits steels, maybe? It's almost disappointing that such a thing doesn't already exist.
  22. Instead of a shop, Sonia came across a group of familiar faces that would probably have stood out even if they weren't armed to the teeth and so, rather than spend another day mostly alone, she approached them, noticing a decidedly unfamiliar individual this time. One that looked somewhat guard-ish at a second glance. Instinct told her to hide (even if she probably didn't have any reason to appear thief-ish), but that wouldn't have made a particularly good impression. "Hey. Another new person?"

Metagame shift, I think? Its primary role isn't as valuable now, and it literally cannot do anything else.
  24. "A wall? ...Kind of? Is it really that bad?" It would have been an understatement to say that the sword wasn't the most well-made weapon out there, but destroying it so casually still seemed more than a little wasteful. The book was another matter entirely. I've poured more money into this thing than I've had in months, whatever it does to undead had better be worth it. That was an issue for another day, though, especially since she wasn't completely broke on leaving the building. As for what to do with it... Clothes that weren't covered in dirt, blood, and sword-holes would probably make for a good start, so she went searching for a shop, having ignored everything that looked even remotely expensive during the walk yesterday.
