  1. South African Vuvuzela Philharmonic Angered by Soccer Games Breaking out During Concerts
  2. Uh, give the Germans credit when credit is due. Those were all good shots. It's not like the keeper fumbled as the ball rolled across the field, or like there were own goals. I fully realize that was the score. I'm saying that the goal that was discounted means nothing with a score of 4-1.
  3. Which you're still doing. You disregard something when you can't find evidence for it (whether that's because the evidence isn't there or you can't find it). Does it mean it doesn't exist? No. But there's no damn reason to propagate bullshit you can't prove, either. You can theorize, sure, but that requires some sort of logic and reasoning, which is lost on the 2012 case. Therefore, it should be disregarded. It's not that difficult to understand. I don't know why you're beating a dead horse.
  4. Now you're just splitting hairs. Are you actually trying to make a point or are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? That's not an attack, mind you, but an honest question. What are you getting at? It doesn't seem like anything all that important.
  5. Me too! What a match. That discounted goal for England sucks, but in the end it really didn't matter. Had it been 4-3 or 4-4, then yeah. But 4-1? No.
  6. Okay, but even then it's a red. It was an obvious goal scoring opportunity. He was the defender. He committed a pretty serious foul. Still a red card by that logic. Agreed. 2-1 Germany so far, though England was denied a goal. It should be 2-2.
  7. Who's attacking? If you don't like your statements challenged, don't post here. Revan summed up what I was going to respond with, so I won't bother.
  8. Which is why I'm going to say you don't know me well. The USA not winning has nothing to do with it. It wasn't a BAD match, it just wasn't the best match I've ever seen, and certainly wasn't epic. The first half, again, boring. Second half was indeed awesome. Overtime: annoying. I care because it's against the rules. Dogpiles aren't. I'm asking that the rules be upheld or changed. That's too much?
  9. No. Those are actually worthy causes. You're listing actual scientific endeavors that could help mankind. Some calendar from people who weren't as scientifically advanced as us somehow read that shit in the stars. Think about it. There are just some scientific endeavors that aren't worth pursuing. If that's not PC enough for you, tough. I'd rather these people learn shit about real science and move on to study quantum mechanics or wormholes instead of derping around about some ancient calendar as if it--or Nostradamus--are worth anything beyond historical interest.
  10. We didn't watch the same match, apparently. The first half was painful, the second half was awesome, and overtime was annoying as shit. Yes, Ghana played better (our defense is practically non-existent half the time), but during overtime it was delay of game after delay of game and SEVERAL terrible throw-ins on Ghana's side that didn't get noticed by the refs. And I found it odd how US players were getting carded for shit but it took a while for a few Ghana players to even get noticed. Dempsey got the shit kicked out of him and the refs waved it off time after time. Hopefully the USA has taken a lot from this WM and will do even better in the next WM than they have done in this one. They did play well overall and they did bring together a nation that doesn't even call the sport by its real name. The penalty on Dempsey that landed Donovan the goal should have been a red card since the offending player was the last defender (due to the nature of the offense). The players that ran off the field after the goal should have been given yellows, since that too is in the rulebook. Etc. etc. etc. FIFA needs better refs. (Though at least in this case these failures probably wouldn't have affected the outcome of the match.)
  11. I said that you can't rule England as a favorite because they scored a goal on Slovenia. The USA scored three times and they're not favorites, so why should England be favorites when they scored once? That doesn't really have any connection to what you're on about...
  12. That doesn't do anything to show that the "proof" that the Mayans got the end of the world right (because, you know, they got so much else right) is credible, or that any of the people backing said ideas are credible.
  13. Alternate years are off-topic? And so what if they're religious? If it's a dumb idea, it's a dumb idea. And considering what the Bible has to say on the topic of the end of the world, they're even bigger idiots for buying into the hype. It's hard not to make fun of that kind of stupidity. A fear of violence is not a good excuse to opt out of telling someone when they're wrong.
  14. I meant roster-wise. @mikeftc: Um, what?
  15. I'm not really surprised France and Italy didn't qualify. France didn't have their shit together and sending home Anelka certainly didn't help, and Italy had practically the exact same squad as last year, wrinkles and all. And Buffon's herniated disk certainly didn't help their chances.
  16. Then you'd be off topic, since this isn't about love.
  17. In the words of my friend, "Feel karma's sting, Italy."
  18. Ghana has shown that they are definitely not to be underestimated. The USA is going to have to really focus if they want to defeat Ghana. They lost four years ago (I was at that game actually) and they have a very good chance of losing this weekend. With Ghana they can't get away with missing as many close shots as they did with Algeria. England needs to play consistently well in order to beat Germany. Rooney needs to be on top of his game and I really recommend the coach let Rooney and J Cole work together. Germany's going to have Klose back and they're going to be out to win. They've played consistently well this tournament, even when they were down to ten men. So yeah. I dunno how big of a chance England has, looking at how they've played so far in the tournament.
  19. Famous =/= credible. And of course it's just mocking. It's stupid hyped up bullshit.
  20. I was multitasking at the time, hence the mixup between goals and score, and even with that snarky correction you got my point and my point still stands. The US also beat Slovenia (though we were cheated out of the last goal.) We're no more a favorite than England. So... Anyway, England should not a favorite. Not until they actually consistently play well. And what's homosexual about crying? EDIT: FUCK YEAH OEZIL YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GO AUSTRALIA YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH Soo happy. Every team I wanted to win today did. <3
  21. Yeah, so did the USA (three times actually--I count that goal, dammit), and they've actually played consistently well. So... How is England a favorite? I'm not saying the USA is gonna win the World Cup but there's really no way England is a favorite again.
  22. You believe all that because England scored a goal on Slovenia?
  23. FUCK YEAH USA Our whole house started screaming in joy. Even my Ukrainian friend. It was epic! And the 7-0 game was nothing. It was boring after like 3-0.
  24. And the US are robbed of another goal. Amazing.
