  1. Um, who else would define a bad person, considering the topic? And I'm not talking about killing bad people. I'm talking about making it so they don't come into existence, and considering God is supposed to be unbiased and all-powerful, that should be an easy task for him. Please read the post before replying, k? Thanks. Irrelevant question. Yes, the idea of perfection is--for the most part--at least partly subjective, but I don't know anyone at all who uses "all powerful" as a defining characteristic. Many say things like, "not making mistakes," but I don't know anyone who is like, "Yeah a perfect person would have to be able to control the universe, otherwise they aren't perfect."
  2. God the Spain Paraguay game was terrible. Anyone who thinks they're gonna take Germany has been taking too much LSD. As for Holland, I expect them to beat Uruguay but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Uruguay won. If Uruguay can shut Sneijder down they should be good. I'm still calling a Germany-Netherlands final though. I think it'd be epic considering the rivalry.
  3. Perfect =/= all powerful There's no reason for him NOT to design us as perfect. On the actual topic, now that I've painfully skimmed the other topic: God has a plan right? But he's all-powerful right? So why did he have to kill people to get there? Couldn't he do something else, you know, considering that's he's supposedly omni-benevolent? Like make it so those "bad people" never existed in the first place?
  4. Wow... Just... wow. I can't believe Federer lost.
  5. The problem with that video is that it shows the aftershot and not the lead up. I agree if it the elbow hit the guy in the face it's a red, but I just don't think it happened. I think it's a dive. My real question is where the ref was. Did he even see this or did he give the card based on Capdevila falling over?
  6. FIFA blocked the video on "copyright grounds." But I dunno when they showed it, it didn't look like enough to red card. Then again they were also showing it in slow motion, which either makes things look 100x worse or 100x not as big of a deal. That doesn't surprise me, about Seppy Weppy.
  7. The BBC showed one scene several times, and what I'm guessing is that he got carded for that, but he didn't even touch him. The Spanish player just fell to the ground holding his face and the Portuguese player didn't even notice and then the ball came and he tried to head the ball but didn't jump high enough. If that's not what he got carded for I'm not really sure why they showed that one scene over and over again. And has Sepp Blatter definied goal line technology? Is it just that: literally, goal line technology? Because if it is, then the Argentinian and Brazillian goals that weren't goals wouldn't be affected. The US goal that wasn't would not have been affected either. Only the British have to gain from that. (Speaking in terms of types of goals, not that it actually affects THIS World Cup.) If it's more of a general AREA type of thing, then that's something else.
  8. Really? I didn't see that at all, either in real time or in any of the replays. (I'm not saying you're wrong or lying, just that it's strange...)
  9. Does anyone know what that red card was actually for? I saw nothing. Well, I saw a dive from the other team... but...
  10. If I said as much, then I misspoke. Sorry.
  11. Um, yeah, but you'd be an idiot to let it all off. EDIT: I realize that you're pointing that out to Revan that it is possible. I'm just saying that doesn't mean there's a "high chance" the world is going to end.
  12. No, it doesn't mean anything to me, actually. Who are the favorites? Brazil, Argentina, Germany, etc. Unless Japan or someone has a secret they've been hiding specifically for the knockout stages. That's the luck of the draw sometimes. The only team I would say is a potential favorite that isn't one of the typical ones is Ghana, and even then their chances are slim. I mean the only (well maybe not ONLY) reason England is out is because they happened to have to go against Germany, which isn't a typical round of 16 match. Oh well. No, I don't remember 2002, as I was in like 8th grade and living in a country that didn't really give a shit about football at the time, so it wasn't on television. And a lot of the stuff you're describing doesn't sound that much different from what is going on now, so I don't know why you're getting all uppity, lol.
  13. They wouldn't have been leading. That goal would have tied things up. It was 2-0 before England even scored their first goal. And well, if that would have happened, it's not like England has a great history of penalties.
  14. I was sad to see Roddick lose, but what I saw of the match was good. Roddick wasn't playing his best, but it was still really awesome to see him still service acing.
  15. Not an upset (and definitely not surprising), not huge, perhaps, and not huge (or surprising, considering Switzerland has the record for longest period of time in WC play without being scored upon). EDIT: And actually now that I think about it, there were more than a few murmurs about shitty reffing in the Ghana-Serbia game. I think I fell asleep during it, but it wasn't just Serbians complaining. So perhaps the refs helped with that, yes. Who said anything about them being free of controversy? No World Cup has been without it. But counting all the refs' mistakes in this one... and well, I haven't seen reffing this bad, at least consistently, in a tournament. Sorry if that doesn't click with your opinion.
  16. Still looked like a pretty obvious goal scoring opportunity to me with that definition. Even if it wasn't, he was tackled without the ball. Still deserved a red card. I would be more excited of these "huge" upsets if most of them weren't propagated by horrible reffing. This is most definitely NOT better than 2002 or especially 2006.
  17. I hope Holland do well, but I don't think they'll win the cup.
  18. At least it won't be a shutout I guess.
  19. All I can say is I'm glad it's going to be Argentina moving on. A nice revenge match for Germany, and a much cleaner match too, I expect. Nice goal from Mexico, by the way.
  20. You did fail miserably, and you're right: you aren't arguing with me. You're digging yourself a hole. You just said you didn't have a point, so why bring anything up to begin with? Anyway, I'm done. Have the last word if you will but I'm ignoring this bullshit after this. 2012 theories are stupid. As mentioned before, it's the same thing over and over again, y2k, etc., and it certainly won't be the last, though of course no one who buys into this crap is going to remember the failed "prophecies" from before.
  21. Can we have ONE game this World Cup where the refs don't absolutely suck? A cheated goal, Messi getting the shit kicked out of him, and now a blatant shove doesn't get a card. The Mexicans are playing really dirty and all they're getting is "a word from the ref." No. If you're out for blood, you get a card. End of story.
  22. That's not dramatic nor an interpretation, and so what if it's your OPINION? If it doesn't mean anything or have an effect on the topic, if doesn't mean anything and doesn't have an affect on the topic. Continue beating your dead horse but you've failed to make even a remotely useful point in regards to this topic.
  23. I will agree with you that the English defense wasn't what it needed to be. It was like they weren't there mentally. They allowed the opportunities to happen.
  24. No. I'm asking you why you keep posting stuff when you're not going anywhere with anything. You tried to pick apart someone's post and you failed miserably. You knew what Revan was saying but you still tried to split hairs that weren't meant for splitting.
