  1. lolwut? Have you SEEN Sheema's bases? Explain to me why I'm giving some 8 str-non durability failure my slayers. Now. You don't get a free pass on slayers just because you have the rank for them. Pretty much every enemy in this game comes in groups (if you're in range of one thing, you're in range of another, too) and in addition, if the failure has low enough str they might not one shot WITH forges. Why the hell am I sacrificing Sheema to Ridersbane bomb somebody when I could have had Draug do it and live? It's completely illogical. I can agree that Zag and Wolf aren't exactly stupendous, but I'd honestly TAKE B rank Silver/Brave chip over failing ass with slayers.

  3. Besides the point. A quick pass through NM doesn't take that much time. It's the equivalent of a blaze through FE9 Easy Mode for FE10 transfers.

  6. I don't recall saying he was "good", or even "good but not high tier good". Just better than loads of other schmucks available, especially if you can invest into a Longbow (which may or may not be available to buy yet). I'm not saying he's Upper Mid or even Mid, here.

  8. Again, not arguing him for Top of Top tier or anything. I'm pretty aware he's going to rank on the lower ends of low-mid, bordering on Low.
  9. Seals are worth 1250, not 2500. Items sell for half their value. I'd only consider using one to be so much of a cost; personally, I had a surplus, and I wasn't using too many pre-promotes (Julian, Sirius, Minerva, Feena, and Zag were the only guys not eating up a seal; I guess that does seem like a bit much, but consider that Feena should be a team staple anyway) Speaking of all this shit about dragons, Maric needs to be ranked high, too. Prologue utility, can OHK flying dragons with no training at all, has good move in the desert...I don't really get why PB didn't use him or any other Excalibur-bomber in C11. Seems to me a Dragon-killer with mobility would have been absurdly useful to have. C13 is one chapter. You can't tell me every single enemy from C13 onwards is loaded with 1-2 range weapons.

  11. Prologues 3 and 4, maybe. Then he gets overwritten by Merric for the rest of it's duration. btw, nobody answered me. How much should Athena's prologue utility override her being absolutely useless in the maingame? I'm not going to attempt Lunatic again until I can plan out a decent team and such; so don't wait up for me. As for Belf and Raiden, I can agree they're kinda screwed (seal for outdoing Abel probably isn't worth it, but I didn't get a good look at Abel anyway), but I think you guys are being a bit too hasty on Robert. He's got pretty decent bases as Hero (36 HP 11 str 18 spd 9 def) and doable weapon ranks (D and then some, no slayers, but just steel's workable since it'd only be on dragons, and eff robert fighting dragons) He's not the best unit in the world or anything but I could name you off guys that are way worse. Heck, just him fitting into the horseman class (if he is that fucked as Hero, which me might be, didn't get far into lunatic) for mobile chip right away tells me he's nowhere near as boned as those two are. I don't even remember what Robbo's starting bow rank is. D? C? Even B? If it's B, then he's definitely not rubbish. Also, Longbows don't seem to be sniper-locked anymore (but I didn't see any in the maingame, maybe they're in shops I didn't go to because of funds issues) so that wouldn't hurt him at all either.

  13. And if you're not an axeman (who might not even have the rank, I'm not sure) then who not named Bord is using the hammer?
  14. I would recruit Bord anyway just for the hammer he starts with (and the fact he's like the only guy who might be able to use it)
  15. There's only one Master Key (That I saw on NM) and it's gotten quite late in the game, so the only dough they'll be saving for you is from door keys; which are 150 a pop. You're going to need to sell a LOT of those before it amounts to any real sum...
  16. Okeydoke then. Unless thief utility is that vital (and really, you'll probably waste as many turns trying to recruit Julian as you will nabbing chests), down goes Julian. Oh, and was anybody else getting horrible speed out of Linde? (I'm talking 10 at lvl 10 horrible) I think it's possible her speed growth took a hit. (Maybe to compensate for Nosferatu?) That's pretty bad if it's screwage, so it might be me, but... Since we were talking about utility earlier, I'd like to inquire about Athena...should we just peg her at lo-mid or something for prologue utility? I found her extremley useful for those chapters, though obviously she's a total joke when she returns.
  17. I didn't say he was wtfpwnsome utility. I just said he was contributing something to the field. And since he can be nabbed on Turn 1, why wouldn't you? I don't really buy "Outclassed by Draug" as an argument, btw. Draug's growths got souped up absurdly. (Smash might say he's inherited Gatrie's growth spread) I can see how he has trouble because of eh bases and all, but that's not really a good argument. Draug's mid tier for being growths+early join if nothing else. Cord may or may not pass for mid-low. Well, due to the whole Lena deal, there's actual incentive to recruit Julian whereas there isn't any for Matthis. But if that's not being considered, then yeah, I 100% agree. Besides, it's also worth mentioning the no Julian equals no thieving utility whatsoever, because No Julian pans out to no Rickard. I guess thieving's a bit less useful because of the Thief staff, but that's only 5 uses.
  18. D axes is doable for Barst. No slayers, but he's got plenty of time to get access to those (And there's a long period where Slayers wouldn't have helped him, anyway). C would have been nice if only to get Silver quicker, but he can live with D. Considering how horrible her start is, I think asking ONE level out of her is a lot. By the way? I think people are coming down too hard on Cord. He's got C2 utility if absolutely nothing else. I found him rather helpful in that chapter, anyway (3HKOs soldiers and can take 2 hits before dying) He's not great, but he's a free extra pair of hands, and that's always nice to have. Matthis should just go down to below Est. Seriously. You have to go WAY out of your way to recruit the goddamn guy and all you get is a piece of rubbish for your troubles. I don't even want to hear that "recruitment costs shouldn't cost against a character" because anybody who's said that must not have tried to recruit the asshole. If nothing else? It's absurdly time-consuming.
  19. I still don't see the point in saying how no Silver Lance is a "nerf", because face it, everybody saw it coming. I consider it a result of the Weapon Rank system not being retarded, not an actual Nerf to Cecile. What I DON'T get is why they made her bases take a nosedive. Is this IS's way of saying gingers have no souls?
  20. Actually, that's exactly why I propose to just divvy it up into class sets. It only makes so much sense to tier My Knight when he's going to be shipped off to Hunter or something ASAP instead, you know?
  21. Mage has hideous bases though. 3 mag and 6 speed is disgusting. It'll take her ages to piece together any form of offense.
  22. She's at risk for it ever since her joining chapter in the prologue. Thieves in P-8 are even one rounding her if she hasn't procd enough speed (and with such a bad start of hers, she's going to have issues getting even one level; besides, that only blocks out low-end 13 AS theives) Yeah....but do you really want to make it worse? Now her move is average, it's even harder for her to snipe kills due to her lower strength, and it takes her even longer to get out of getting one shotted. If you can somehow make it work, the payoff won't be worth all the effort. If we're reclassing Cecile to anything (and we are, absolutely, but I don't think Archer/Mage saves her, it's just kind of like finding a half-full canteen in the desert), it's a chipper class. No, it happens all the time in the prologue as well. I've seen it. Oh, and dividing EVERY possible My Unit class seems like too much of a hassle since it's really just for prologue performance. I vote that three My Units are tiered; My Class A Unit, My Class B Unit, My Female Unit.
