  1. Well I don't disagree with that, but in HM, because Marcus is by far and large the best unit to give an enemy phase and he doesn't ORKO everything like he does in FE7 (lol fe7 marcus base str), then SOMEBODY has to mop up those kills. And Roy can't get everything. That's not to say they get used long term though, just that they're not exactly hard to use units even in HM, despite being heavily overshadowed.
  2. I saved every energy drop in the game for sanaki and rigged her level ups for str and speed so she'd manage to wield rexflame without getting weighed down (which lets her double spirits and shit with rexflame or double with siege tomes with nasir) Miccy just gets bexp so she can physic staff for a good amount, that's all that's needed of her really. Sanaki can't use staves :(
  3. its honestly worth remembering that marcus repeatedly chips enemy units down to OHKO range on FE6 HM early on with his iron sword. If that EXP is going anywhere it may as well go to Alance and Roy. <_<
  4. Well, after that advice and warp, this wasn't so hard.
  5. Wow I completely misunderstood how Forges work in this game. I thought it duplicated the weapon into another one with the changed stats, not just strengthed a current one lol. I hope you can buy more of this thing later, even if its Prf. Is there a benchmark for how strong is ideal, or is repeatedly forging it possible if you decide you later want more? I assume you don't need much for a weapon like this since +1 mt is actually +3 when used on on cavs/armors. Also wondering if I should have been forging more things on previous chapters since I only get one per chapter. Oh well.
  6. Thats the thing though, I don't OHKO the Silver so she gets countered (survives but 1 hp) then I have to rig a dodge on the other one. Unless I forge her something strong enough to oneshot them.
  7. Well I just completely failed at chapter 6 lol, I didn't realise the thieves could escape off the top right of the map. Reset. That silver lance cav also did decide to take a big shit in my cheerios. Giving it some thought, I figured this seems like a good a time as any to use warp to get someone up to the north ASAP, since there is a lovely choke to stop the thieves ecsaping. Unfortunately, I don't have anybody tanky enough to survive those cavs... All I've got for a solution right now I guess involves forging a +MT Ridersbane or Winged Spear so I can OHKO the Silver, since otherwise I have to rig a dodge. If I attempt to use the choke to avoid getting attacked twice by cavs, then I aggro another armor, so I get attacked twice anyway. Blaaaagh, maybe I need to warp twice so I can defend it properly? I dunno. Vulneraries wont cut it.
  8. well yeah, sandstorm by itself wasn't really that big of a deal (at least once the mole got bumped to ubers), but so many times I ended up playing games that just revolved around trying to cockblock the opponent's weather and get your own out, making everyhting so tedious and annoying, and sandstorm is involved in that (even if it isn't directly that powerful). That's why I also listed dream world OU as a thing again, like it was back near the start of gen v. Sandstorm can exist then without Droughtails and Drizzletoed.
  9. Quite frankly, the only single thing I want is weather to get its own fucking tier above OU/bring back Dream World OU. I am 100% sick of Drought/Drizzle/Sandstorm shit, that's why I quit/rarely play UU instead.
  10. Can you actually arrow wave burn RNs before seizing to affect starting stats for enemy recruit units in the next map? I wasn't actually aware of that. I did know that it variates slightly depending on if you "carry over" rns from the last chapter but huh, that's cool.
  11. I'm not the most efficient player, but to be honest I find that if you're a stat whore (like me) you can usually get away with rigging some stats early on in the game due to short chapters and stuff, regardless of savestate. In that case I really don't think it matters, its basically just making it easier for what I would be restarting for anyway <_< Getting the crucial early procs is far more important than stuff later on when you have enough units and options to make it work. You can also just make sure you end maps close to a level up, so you can reset for level ups at the start of the next map (something else I tend to do a lot) which basically makes savestate rigging/arrow waving/turn order changes just a time saver. Otherwise I just let it roll. If the game has facilities like Battle save or Map save then I definitely use those though. Savestating for strategy problems I don't do unless the chapter is just really fucking tedious and long (hi radiant dawn...), because I frankly just lose focus and find it a lot less interesting when theres giant splurges of units dying everywhere as opposed to micromanagement, and thus am more liable to make poor decisions (that end up resulting in having to redo more boring tedious shit ugh).
  12. lol I'm actually looking at his reclass options right now, these are just hilarious. What is it with old men kicking ass in this game? Wolf and Sedgar as generals is also really silly.
  13. Did you dl that different VBA version? theres still a lot of desynched sound :( Also, are you resetting/reloading between chapters or continuing over? I know GBA rns are "fixed" but iirc carrying over rns from a chapter load isn't the same as the RNs in just loading a chapter. Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe that might help with your level ups.
  14. Sorry for the delay, but I'm back with chapter 5 Thoughts - this would have been a stupidly easy chapter to warpskip on. I also could have probably let Hardin get some EXP down there if I gave him a Javelin and Vulneraries but w/e I needed more WEXP for the rest of my team. I should also stop using battle saves to rig growths but it's so tempting and it's not like they're getting used for anything else at this point I hope the later maps are more interesting :(
  15. [spoiler=Tellius spoilers galore]Gallia doesn't "do anything" but Gallians were definitely not fond of humans, and it's pretty explictly stated that the relationship that Crimea and Gallia had was pretty much both royal families only. Gallia doesn't really do anything to help or oppose in FE9 until the late portion of the game anyway, so how exactly are you proposing that laguz there get portrayed any more badly than the usual prejudiced character like Lethe? They're avoiding a conflict that isn't theirs for the most part, and they avoid contact with Beorc. The hawks and ravens are basically pirates and take a big shit all over Begnion trade all the time. They tried to fuck up Ike and crew and the only reason they help him out later is because he saved Leanne and Reyson. Tibarn is just blatantly racist all the time. They're the only tribes that actually repeatedly interact with humans, and I'm pretty sure what they do was clearly established. I don't really know how you expect any more of the Laguz to get portrayed badly when two countries try not to get involved, and the other two are pirates. The mad king's war was primarily a Beorc conflict, most of the Laguz stuff was far more to do with Ike unifying the land under one banner to take back Crimea. Daein had its fair share of assholes and people just following orders, Begnion's senators didn't really become "bad" until RD. I don't legitimately believe anyone in PoR was portrayed to be just actually "evil" beyond Ashnard being completely power mad and Izuka who is pretty much deranged. In RD, Laguz start razing through Begnion due to a bunch of hotheads, getting a lot of Beorc civies and soldiers dragged into a pointless conflict. The senators are also pretty much there to be over the top assholes, and the whole conflict just feels really stupid and inconsistent with what we knew of Begnion before (in terms of them actually adhering to Sephiran and Sanaki, who jump through hoops because lol conservative values). The Crimea chapters are fine, nobody there really feels "off" or bad, but the whole blood pact thing with Daein feels like something out a bad fanfic, like they had no better excuse to force Miccy to fight other than EVERYONE WILL DIIIIIE. Then Lehran comes out and is like MASTERPLAN to litearlly everything in the plot, which puts a Laguz at the head of everything. Fuck RD's story.
  16. probably doesn't really count as much towards something being "good" but man I really really underestimated how useful terrain could be until I played FE6 HM and now SD H5. I prety much almost forgot about it most of the time in the other games. I used to always use iron weapons and hoard my steels, silvers and killers. I kind of still do but at least I dont kit units out with iron ALL the time anymore to "save money".
  17. replace armors with tier 1 great knights equivilants. allow them to mount and dismount with a boost to speed whilst mounted, and a boost to def whilst unmounted. limit movement to -1 from infantry average as unmounted, and equal (maybe +1?) to infantry whilst mounted. whilst I've entertained this idea before, it feels redundant because an idea that might help fix armors involves giving them an attribute of an op unit type lol.
  18. +1 to PKL. Also, PoR is a lovely game, why wouldn't you want to play it first? [spoiler=(Don't click this either OP) ]BK showing up in part 1 and helping Miccy and then HAVING HIM AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER also blew my fucking mind
  19. Shiida is the real Jagen in this game lol Considering this is H5 difficulty yeah I am pretty shocked that she can pull that off. Looking at ch5 she'll smash the armor knights in this chapter too. I'm not really sure what they were thinking with her Winged Spear.
  20. This still makes me facepalm. He even gets one rounded with Soren close enough to trigger their support. Total joke compared to FE9's BK fight.
  21. Chapter 4 time~ Yay for inefficiency! This chapter was a LOT easier though, aside from a the annoying first hunter to the north. I hope some of the later chapters are more difficult...
  22. Titania looks a bit derpy in her RD portrait, Jill looks too angry in her PoR portrait. In terms of official artwork, I think they both look great though. It's really hard for me to decide, but I think Jill ever so slightly edges it.
