  1. I liked Heather, but the nature of RD ultimately leaves me undecided. One thing to note though is Heather manipulated and stole from people because her mother was sick and she needed to buy medicine. Doubt Charlotte's anything like that.
  2. PoR had the better story and better pacing in terms of gameplay. RD had a good story with a really questionable plot, and incredibly wonky pacing, but has great gameplay that I feel trumps PoR's.
  3. You're comparing Fire Emblem to Witcher III and God of War. Something's wrong here. Not that I don't think the face-rubbing is overblown anyway.
  4. The -20 Avo on Warrior Weapons can be pretty daunting for characters that are dodge tanks, but for meat tanks this is basically the perfect weapon for enemy routing. Silver Weapons are definitely the best player-phase weapon however.
  5. Even more amused that it's implied Boyd is better than Nolan.
  6. Blah blah blah bad impractical armor blah. Character-wise I think she can be another amusing person on your team. Being the first female fighter in the series is nothing to write off either. If fighters aren't bad in this game I'll probably use her.
  7. You haven't seen all the parodies of 300 then.
  8. I'll give you expensive, but FE7-8 is basically using Iron to double attack, and Steel to 1HKO to avoid getting counterattacked, then the dynamic going out the window when Promotion(CON Increase) and Silver weapons come to play. Enemies needlessly wearing themselves down with Steel weapons usually allowed you to get away using Steel for default as well. As it stands FE:if's weapon system is much more simplified.
  9. Pretty much how I feel. I actually think the face-rubbing thing is overblown, and is actually just the poster child for people to point at to speak against pandering. That's a whole other subject though.
  10. So far I'm seeing Silver, Reaver, and Warrior weapons as the best. Silver weapons still looking like the best basic melee weapons to use. Even with the -2 STR debuff it still gives you more damage than Steel or Iron, especially if you're double attacking anyway.
  11. NakoKnight addressed this pretty well, but I'll go ahead and leave this here. In other words, the more you pander to something, the more it's expected in the next installment. This is why too much experimentation can be bad.
  12. Seems you're right. Brave Hero is a promoted class. That just makes it worse. I know what you're saying, but let me clarify: I don't care about women showing skin. It's why I'm fine with Tharja and I don't complain at her. I just want them to show it in ways that make sense. Charlotte's and Camilla's doesn't. Charlotte's is just worse. I enjoyed the fact fire emblem tried to keep armor designs in line with their tone, but ever since Awakening things have just made me sad.
  13. Harold's a Brave Hero class. Heroes tend to be exceptionally well-armored. That'd be a good point if Vaike and Basillio's armor designs weren't garbage as well. But now I remember where the tradition is from.
  14. It isn't gross, but it is a conscious action for most people and usually reserved for people you're exceptionally close to. Seeing it used so freely probably puts a lot of people off.
  15. This is an argument used a lot, such as with Casual Mode and Phoenix Mode, but it doesn't doesn't quite work with My Castle due to opportunity costs. Any development time spent on My Castle could've been time spent somewhere else. Similarly, any time loss on the core game experience is time spent on content I either dislike or don't care for. Losing hype from things like My Castle is pretty valid. Personally, I'm tolerable and willing to hope for the best, but I don't need stuff like this to enjoy the Fire Emblem series, so this is all fluff and lacks relevance to me.
  16. On one hand I agree. On the other hand, it'd be pretty unrealistic for even the most moody of people to take themselves seriously 100% of the time. Being able to sit back and relax is important for any army.
  17. I'm more reminded of the bizzare jump from Valkyria Chronicles 1 (war-torn story) to Valkyria Chronicles 2 (High school hijynx ahoy!).
  18. The bow doesn't bother me, nor her top. It's actually the armor or lack thereof. I always appreciated FE for keeping their armor designs somewhat seriously. There has been the occasion where you have a character wearing an armguard and nothing else and that's passable, but Charlotte looks like she's literally missing armor and that's why she's showing off her top since she can't find it. I kinda can't take Camilla seriously for similar reasons, but at least her armor looks... functional.
  19. It is a completely different world. Luna's most likely using the appearance as a call-out to Severa. I wouldn't look into it any deeper than that.
  20. For comparison's sake: Luna looks... slightly younger I guess.
  21. As said before, romance was still a thing. No, you couldn't marry anyone you wished in the game, but that didn't stop people from making head-canons out of it. I'm not seeing why one would think this is some bizarre concept. Feeding a pet is pretty weird I'll admit, but "petting people's faces" is getting pretty overblown. As long as the gameplay and strategy is good, all of this simply gives you things to do outside of the core, which should be appreciated. Stuff like this is expected in RPGs nowadays.
  22. FE7 had Mark (the only person relevant to Lyn). FE12 had Chris. This is not a new thing.
  23. The Marriage system has been relevant ever since FE4. It's just not since Awakening that they brought it back in full force. The only thing different now is the developers are embracing that side of the fandom. Also, I've been playing FE ever since Blazing Sword came out in America. I have a waifu for every FE game (best waifu ever is Marcia). While I admit a lot of this stuff is hilariously silly, there's not enough information here to make a justifiable assumption.
