Deity
Playing FE7 again, and I found out something that made me laugh...sorta. Serra says in chapter 6 something about only good-sided practitioners of magic can use staffs, but when you promote shaman into druid, they can use staffs too. ^^ So Cerra was wrong, just like I am with spelling her name there. Fireman
Well, what Serra said is controversial, but perhaps it's because all the staff-wielding enemies we face used to be 'good practitioners'?
Yuli
What about the enemy healers who aren't Druids? :x Edit: I post too slow. Edited December 27, 2008 by Yuli
luigi bros
Nergal can use staffs so she is wrong. Something simalar in Radiant Dawn all the light spells say it can only be used by those dedicated to justice but Sephiran and Ashera can. Kintenbo
Than how do you explain Nergal? Nergal used to have good intentions, but then his thirst for power corrupted him?
Herr Wozzeck
Serra says in chapter 6 something about only good-sided practitioners of magic can use staffs, but when you promote shaman into druid, they can use staffs too. ^^ So Cerra was wrong, just like I am with spelling her name there. As Canas says in the same game, the term 'dark magic' is misleading; it's supposed to be ancient magic. So that can kill the argument. It's probably a result of her own pride, though; she acts more like your average teenage girl from the eighties than anything else (me me me me me!) Mekkah
Everyone who can ever wield Light Magic in any FE game seems to be acting out of their own beliefs and justice. Then again, I think any FE enemy fights for nothing but what they believe is right. If not, then they were probably sick of being red anyway, if you catch my drift. luigi bros
How is Sephiran doing justice he wants to destroy the world. Oliver keeps slaves. That doesn't sound like justice to me. I imagine Nergal started as a shaman than druid when he started stealing quintessence and thats when he would get staffs. when he targeted dragons he became a dark druid thats when he got light and anima. That doesn't sound like good to me.
Ϲharlie
Nergal was alive for centuries and probably researched all sorts of magic out of interest. I don't think its as simple as "oh he promoted, and now he can use other types of magic". Edited December 27, 2008 by Gustave
riariadne
Everyone classifies what they do as 'good'.

It's simply up to the individual to figure it out for themselves. Everyone classifies what they do as 'good'. Not necessarily. Many people in the world do 'wrong things' and know it, but for reasons of their own, they choose not to stop or simply can't stop. Deity
I guess it is safe to say that the story creators messed up with that line. ^^ Its not a big deal, because there is nothing we can do, all I can do about it is laugh and move on. I believe that we've been discussing whether it was a mistake. I don't think anything's definite. :/

That doesn't sound like good to me. Sephiran believed that the world deserved to be destroyed. That is what justice IS. Blah blah blah. Justice, good, and the like are all subjective, so really it's not that difficult to see how each person could still us said items.
Mekkah
I guess it is safe to say that the story creators messed up with that line. Yeah, we can make up silly excuses all we want, but that line generally didn't really belong there imo.

Dr. Tarrasque
Serra's even more wrong when you look at FE6. Bishops there are nothing but pathetic magic tanks while the enemy Druids pack higher magic which results in better healing, better staff range and better status effect accuracies. "good-sided practitioners" are pussies.
