When you purchase a game, do you read the instruction manual or not? Some people consider it wimpy to read them before playing the game, so I'm wondering if you guys read 'em.

No i don't, my brother does though and it annoys me because he won't let me play until he reds them.

Well that is for 360 and wii games, he doesn't look at them fore the DS because he doesn't play it.

I voted yes, because I like to look through things later on for fun. Not really to pay attention to it, but for its own self-value--anyone with some of the better manuals of the NES days, like the original Zelda, could appreciate this.

I never read them to know what's going on, as few, if any, games these days give a need to do such. This isn't back in the day where you needed to dip a letter in water to get the magic code 747, or look up a reference character chart to input a few symbols to continue a game. Most "manuals" are integrated into gameplay nowadays.

I always skim through them just to get a feel for what's going to be in the game. Then, if I can't find adequate help in-game, I go back and take a look at the manual, or online.

On a random note, I remember how I couldn't get past the first boss in Illusion of Gaia, when I was younger, so I had to make do with reading the mini walkthrough in the instruction manual.

Huh?

WHAT!?

Who was the first boss? I don't even remember it cause it wasn't... memorable. Tell ol' Terranigma Freak who's the big bad bully that's in your way. You should know I would be to one to ask about the Soul Blazer trilogy.

Ha! Your brother is like me then. I prevent my younger siblings from playing a game until I've read through the instruction manual first. Not for instructions mind you, but rather for any backstory, art or character bios in it.

I miss the olden days when Instruction manuals were tomes that had listed the complete backstory of every faction and character in the game. *Sigh* :(

I used to be a big game manual junky, but not anymore. Most manuals nowadays are completely uninteresting. Working Designs used to make the best manuals ever, but they no longer exist. :[

This reminds me of a time when I got my GameCube. We were heading out for vacation, and I couldn't bring my GameCube, so I just brought the games instead. XD I ended up spending the whole car ride reading through the instructions and whatnot.

Oh him. Holy shit, you suck. Just destroy his hands, then run around the place avoiding the shit, then hit his eye when it opens. Of course you should know that after seeing the video. I could understand if you guys were complaining about the Vampire boss in Mu, but this guy's nothing.
