It improves the cucumber's taste 10,00 fold. Or something. We can't get lime because we just can't afford it x3 As for salt, they still never seem to like vegetables when adding salt to it either. You've never had these, then. They're filled with such savoury goodness that you won't be able to stop eating them; yes, they're amazing even without salt.
