It's not as if mages can even hit him particularly often, and once he gets Ragnell they leave him alone unless he's the only thing they can attack that turn. The mages may wish to consume him, but that doesn't mean they have much chance of pulling that off. And if you have transfer Ike he'll have an alarming amount of res by the time he gets Ragnell, too, provided you use bexp.

It's funny, though.

In one game, his 20/20 res is higher than his 20/20/20 res in the following game.

His 20/11 res in one game in 6.6 higher than his 20/11 res in the next game.

His cap is one higher when he is an entire tier higher.

and if not for his +4 promotion bonus in RD it would look even worse. (his promo bonus in PoR was just +2)

In PoR, Ike actually reaches his RD base res before he even promotes. His level 19 Ranger res is 7.2.

See kids, this is why you shouldn't do steroids. Sure, you might impress a few girls with that Energy Drop or Statue Frag, but it ruins your RES growth.

(And there are plenty of other weird changes between RD and PoR. Tanith joins 6 levels higher, but her base speed actually goes down, FE10 Gatrie's base speed is 6 higher than his FE9 20/20 average, and Tauroneo gets +6 SPD compared to his FE9 base... but -10 HP!)

Well, I'm not going to make an argument about Lucia's personality or anything, but really, Lucia has very bad availability, and then shows up in part 4 significantly underleveled compared to a team that should be third tier or very close to it. (She'll probably be around her base level of 20/14? while other units are just getting their third tier promotions).

And yes, Mist marries Boyd if they have an A support at endgame.

PoR really made it seem more like Mist and Rolf were to be the canon pairing, but then again, PoR also made Ike X Lethe, Mia, or Elincia seem canon as well, and we know how that turned out in the end.
