In his defence (though I have no idea why I'm doing this) he was clearly going for each character getting no more than one pairing.

In his list:

Tibarn is taken by Cain. Nailah is taken by Volug (arguably vice versa). Elincia was stolen away from Ike by Geoffrey (Stupid I.S. Don't tease us in fe9 and then pair Elincia with the retard in RD). Reyson was taken by Rafiel. Ike by Soren and Ranulf by Kyza.

Now, obviously a lot of his choices make no sense or are downright weird, and his "justifications" even more so, but the point is that he didn't "miss" three different options for Tibarn.

PoR really made it seem more like Mist and Rolf were to be the canon pairing, but then again, PoR also made Ike X Lethe, Mia, or Elincia seem canon as well, and we know how that turned out in the end.

... Ike talks to Mia like twice in the entire game (recruitment + endgame thing with everyone). Maybe three times if there's an Info conversation (Can't seem to find a list of FE9 ones). Ike/Mia is crack. Popular crack, but crack nonetheless.

Anyway, I chose Other, because every line that's not from Shinon in the GM's Return is terrible.

Since you missed both Lyre and Gatrie, they should be paired together, especially since there actually is a whole 1 info conversation to substantiate it.

How would that make sense? He explains that laguz have a better sense of smell or something and that's how he knows, right? Though, really, if that's the case couldn't he have smelled Zelgius 3 years prior in PoR? He caught a whiff of the BK at the end of chapter 11, after all.
