Worst: Light magic. Yeah, even though it's my favorite, it pretty much sucks in most FEs. It's the heaviest and has the lowest Mt.

Best: Wind Magic. It sucks in FE9 and 10 where all magic sucks while in FE4 (lolHolsety) and FE5, its the best thing to use. More reason if you throw in the spells that belong in its category like Excalibur of FE Gaiden, Aircalibur of FE6, Shaver and Excalibur of the Achanea games.

Worst: Knives. Low MT for units that already have poor STR? Genius.

I'm just a little unsure about this, but whatever...

Best: Definitely Wind magic, nothing else needs to be said here. Despite that it kinda stinks in the Tellius games, there's always Holsety, which by the way is hax. Also there's Aircalibur in FE6 and Shaver and Excalibur in the Archanea games.

Worst: Knives. Can you get any weaker than having the lowest might out of all weapons? And there's the fact that thieves aren't strong to begin with. (Unless if you're in FE10.)

Honorable mention to wind magic simply because it's generally lightweight, accurate, and I like it.

Worst: Dark Magic. Love it to death, but it's heavy and inaccurate.

It varies greatly by game, but disregarding the broken stuff. . .

Worst: Axes

Lances have an extremely common 1-2 range weapon (which IMHO gives it the edge over swords), and most of the lances are fairly accurate. Axes are powerful but inaccurate, and reside in the worst part of the weapon triangle (the part that makes it hard to hit a Swordmaster).

Best - Swords. Accurate, reliable, comes in many varieties and my favorite classes use them. Tbqh, Axes are only awesome in the Tellius games and Shadow Dragon. In the GBA games, they suck when not wielded by a Berserker, General, or Hector. And in 3 & 4, they're just baaaaaad.

Worst - Light Magic. Low mt, weak against Anima (the most common magic in the games). The only thing going for it is it's high accuracy and in FE8, the Slayer skill.

Worst: Dark magic. It's heavy and inaccurate, and the ultimate dark tomes being wtfterrible doesn't help. ALso, the users don't really help its case either. Dishonorable mention to axes because personally, I feel that good axe mainers were as rare as hens' teeth in the GBA FEs.
