geozeldadude
so far i've played yellow, colosseum, gold, and now finishing up ruby. should i play fire/leaf next, or emerald, or jump to diamond/pearl? i think i'm prob. going to skip over fire/leaf/emerald unless there's some really new game feature in those games. Galenforcer
Stop right now. Pokemon is dead Firered/Leafgreen are pretty much the same as the originals(inB4 flamed by fanboys), and so is Emerald, with the additions for extra tutor moves for Wi-Fi teams for DPP and HGSS. It's fine to go straight to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum for a change of generation.
Momo
FR/LG are fun and all, but if you don't really wanna play them, don't bother. Go directly to Platinum.
riariadne
HeartGold and Soulsilver are the best, I think. That or Platinum, but I personally find it a bit meh.

Surando
If you can do a little Japanese, you can buy to yourself the Japanese games of the fifth generation for the Nintendo Ds, called Pokémon White and Pokémon Black. Both contain only new Pokémon and are to be recommended absolutely on account of the new crazy graphic arts, by the new cool Pokémon sometimes seen, but if you are no so the special fan of the new Pokémon and/or you can't speak Japanese, I would advise you rather first Heartgold or Soulsilver. In my opinion. Ps: Sorry if my English here so bad, thats all because my English is very bad and in the school we learning now the vocubalary because I'm a german kid. That's why my English is soo bad, and because I wont to sleep right now. Thank you for the Understanding. And sorry again. The half of the text is wrong, right? ~ Surando. The first paragraph is not that bad. Its actually pretty good. Anyways, I'd say get heartgold/Soulsilver. Tons of pokemons. Although you'll need D/P/Pt to get some pokemons incase you want to complete your pokedex.
