I voted "I Don't Know", since I think making another contest is silly, and pointless, especially since it's about mapping. Like Feaw said, map contests didn't bring in very many entrants. I mean, now that this is out, there ought to be more entries--and hey, mapping is a useful skill, even if only because it forces you to be resourceful and creative. I can agree to the latter part of your statement. Maps do force you to actually make sure everything looks right, and is presented in a way that is fun to play on.
