Chapter 15 - 7/127

Fed arena levels to Radd and Bord, then reclassed Bord to Berserker and Catria to Wings. . .and Ellerean to Bishop. Radd got a Dracoshield, so he'd stop being so squishy. Marth got the Speedwings so he'd double. Catria repossessed the Starsphere.

On turn 1, I had Bord and Catria kill the ballista (Bord got two Strength levels in the arena, which made this possible). Ellerean hit Radd with Barrier, then Ogma and Radd charged forward with Javelins. This was enough to kill the Ridersbane Paladin. Meanwhile, Minerva weaved forward towards the shops. She hit the shops on turn 3, which meant that Marth could open the door (otherwise, I'd have to wait for Rickard). Ogma waited in front of Marth with an Armorslayer. After that, it was a rush forward. Abel died, because he ran away from Est. Missed the Physic, sadly.

Chapter 16 - 4/131

Bord to Hero and Ellerean to Sage.

Catria, Radd, Arran, and Jeorge went Astram's way, while everyone else went the other way. I was lucky enough to have one of the Worm bishops do 17 damage instead of 18 damage; this saved Marth. Ogma took the brunt of the attacks, then rushed between the bishops and hit the stronger one. Bord ran up and introduced the boss to his Hand Axe. Marth killed one of the axe guys (Ogma critkilled the other one). Ellerean fired the genereal (tee-hee~!). Rickard absorbed a Worm hit. Thanks to Catria's promotion caps as a Falcoknight, she was able to double all the Heroes. Recruited Astram, and got the Geosphere (which is why I took 4 turns instead of 3). Also made sure to get the second Rescue staff on the last turn.

Chapter 16x - 2/133

Catria showed Katarina who was boss. Not much to say here.

Chapter 17 - 7/140

Marth got Tomas and the Angelic Robe while everyone else trucked it south. On turn 6, I rescued Marth, who recruited Sheema and Samson (I wanted their weapons). On turn 7, seize.

Chapter 18 - 3/143

Reclassed Bord to Dracoknight so he wouldn't die so quickly. Reclassed Ellerean to Bishop so he could use Physic.

Between Bord, Ogma, and Catria, things died. Radd and Tomas killed a paladin all the way in back, then one of them got to kill a weakened Paladin. On turn 3, Marth was Rescued and seized.

Chapter 19 - 11/154

Reclassed Bord to Hero.

Recruited Roshea and Sedgar (would've recruited Wolf, but he decided that attacking Ellerean was a better idea than attacking Marth). Had Bord been a bit more sturdy, this might not have been so painful (as three people dealing with those reinforcements is better than two), but. . .having reinforcements pop up like that wasn't fun. I might Warp someone to the boss next time, so I don't have to deal with that.

Chapter 20 - 8/162

Catria with the Lightsphere beat up Hardin. Rickard opened quite a few things. So did Marth. Midia refused to die on time, so I burned a Rescue charge on her. Catria and Ogma hit level 20 here.

Chapter 20x - 5/167

Not familiar enough with this chapter to predict everything. Got the Longbow, but didn't have time for the other Excalibur.

Everyone is reclassed so I can do Chapter 21. I hate this chapter with a passion. Radd, Tomas, and Sedgar got some arena time.

Chapter 21 - 9/176

This chapter was stupid. By "stupid" I mean "have Ellerean sponge hits, because the Wyverns like attacking him and he's 3HKO'd". Used an Angelic Robe on Marth, so he wouldn't be 2HKO'd.

Catria flew north as fast as she could, while Ogma went across and down. Marth drew the Poleax/Tomahawk guys, then got Starlight. Roshea went shopping and randomly critkilled a thief. The boss died to Ogma's manliness.

Chapter 22 - 6/182

Ellerean got a few arena levels.

I delayed a turn because Catria had to stay behind to take care of some jerk with a Levin Sword. Otherwise, it was a mad dash forward. I was able to kill one of the Swordmasters via Tomas (Longbow) and Ellerean (Excaliblick). The Glower guys decided that Tomas and Jeorge were good attack targets, which meant that my melee guys could survive the one turn needed to get Marth to the throne.

Chapter 23 - 8/190

Reclassed Arran to Bishop, 'cause I needed an extra Barrier user. Reclassed Roshea to Paladin for the extra Res.

Fed a level to Ellerean, so he'd gain Magic. Then, I stuffed him with the four Spirit Dusts I had. I also stuffed Marth full of Energy Drops, and gave a Talisman to Catria. Oh, and gave Ellerean a spare Arms Scroll so he'd have enough oomph to ORKO Gharnef.

Pissing off the AI intelligently was hard. Luckily, I'd picked up the Brave Sword, so killing Glower enemies wasn't too much of an issue. I got to the point where everything tried (and failed) to kill Ellerean - Gharnef and two Meteors wasn't enough. Mar-Mar seized shortly afterwards.

Endgame - 6/196

Reclassed Ogma to Hero and Radd to Swordmaster. Stat boosters distributed all over the damn place.

Managed to sell just enough stuff to level Tomas twice in the arena. This allowed him to get enough Speed so that I wouldn't have to worry so much about him randomly dying. He also got a Speedwings.

Thanks to the "no meatshielding" rule, I had to carefully pick my way around the dragons to recruit the sisters. The only one that survived that mess was Lena. I eventually got to the boss, who died to a Marth crit (which was irrelevant, because Catria was close enough to finish Medeus).

UNIT IMPRESSIONS

Marth - Started out kinda slow, but once I got out of dragonland, he was able to improve quite a bit. The Shield of Seals gave him one more Speed than Catria, which meant he could double even the fastest of the fire dragons. Falchion was absolutely godly here!

Arran - Scratch what I said about being useful half the game, and make it more like two-thirds of it. Wyrmslayer/Levin Sword really help him a lot. He can also go Bishop to get insta-Barrier.

Catria - Waiting for the Whip was well worth it; there's a lot of things a Falcoknight can double that a Dracoknight can't (like the heroes near Astram in Chapter 16). Falcoknight also gets better Res, to boot. Co-MVP of the run.

Bord - Early Hammering was really nice, and while I think I promoted him way too early, it was enough. He wasn't as sturdy as Ogma/Catria, but he had enough offense to be worth it. He also supported Ogma, which meant that when he hit, it hurt like hell.

Ogma - Armorslayer/Wyrmslayer on wheels, with the added bonus of having decent stats and growths. In later chapters, he helped tank things alongside Catria. Co-MVP of the run.

Rickard - Squishy.

Radd - He needs quite a few resources to catch up, but his sword rank meant that he was mini-Ogma for most of the game. He made a useful stand-in staffbot during those two chapters where I absolutely needed one.

Jeorge - Absolutely amazing. . .until Tomas shows up. He did okay as chip, and he had just enough durability to survive most of the chapters. Wyverns hated him with a passion.

Ellerean - Slap the Arms Scroll from Chapter 8 on him and watch him wreck everything with Excalibur. He turned out really bulky, and thanks to my lack of magic users, he had a monopoly on Spirit Dusts. Gharnef didn't stand a chance against him. Co-MVP of the run.

Tomas - The first of the latecomers, who requires quite a bit of babying to catch up (read: loads of arena levels). He's extremely frail, so he'll need a Robe to sponge hits, but once he gets going, he'll turn out pretty good.

Roshea - Got some odd Dragonpike hits in here and there, and was my shopper for Chapter 21. Probably not worth the turns, but it did save me the trouble of killing Vyland and Sedgar.

Sedgar - He's nowhere near as godly as he was in FE11, but he was the third chipper of the team. He had eternal Speed problems, though.

Overall

The rules weren't too bad for a second draft, and it was an interesting experience. I'll see if I can recruit Merric and Ellerean at the same time one day (even if this will hamper the latter's usefulness).
