Several other games since have had Mafia lynch canceling powers that played out similar in effect to the main purpose you leveraged her for. The main thing was at that time, probably nobody even thought to consider it. And yeah, certain curveballs were thrown that made my expectations not exactly line up with how things played out. I was bulletproof in Disgaea (until I got my powers taken by Jennifer - granted, I happened not to need it).
