Refa, 15+7=22, so you're a turn shorter than you're claiming. Also, you recruited Legault just for his stuff? Could you have 5-turned otherwise?

26x 19 -> free / 126

It's been a while since I didn't need a whack of restarts (okay, 26 didn't either, because Jaffar decided not to be an idiot). Delayed a turn at the end so that Louise could pick off the Luna!Druid who I managed not to bait earlier. Harken got Sonia. He would have exactly ORKOd with the Brave Sword except he missed one of the four attacks. He also wtfpwned a bunch of other stuff that I probably could have dealt with more efficiently. Suddenly I only have 7 uses of it for the rest of the game o_O Oh well, there's still the Lance. The Berzerk staff missed all three times (against Harken all three times I think), but Serra still managed to staffbot Restore a bit due to poison, and continued to Mend of course. She used Physic once, forgot why exactly. She's now promotable, and will use the delicious Ch23 Earth Seal. Wallace held off a bunch of reinforcements, standing in a puddle most of the time and then getting stranded on a 4x4 island. Jaffar held on to Nino pretty much the whole time and kept her out of enemy range, HOW ROMANTIC. That extra Killing Edge and Elixir are appreciated.

Eliwood 13.47, 30hp 8/10/11/10/12/3, again with the perfect HP. He still won't be able to attack the Dragon though. That's kinda sad.

Marcus 18.21, 45hp 18/22/17/14/13/15

Lowen 13/5.08, 39hp 10/11/11/12/15/7

Bartre 11/4.58, 42hp 14/10/7/7/10/8

Serra 10.61, 19hp 10/10/11/11/5/10, nice last two level-ups there. That's my girl.

Canas 11/5.60, 30hp 14/12/13/9/8/12

Wallace 7.39, 38hp 20/11/8/14/20/7

Louise 8.46, 31hp 12/16/19/19/9/13

HARKEN <3 14.35, 43hp 23/22/19/13/18/13

Did you know?

Unlike every other survival chapter, 26 does NOT end early if you kill the boss?

Ugh.

Hey. Chapters 4, 13x, 15, 24, and 31 want to talk with you. Only 22 ends early.

Chapter 18x: 6/61

Standard Marcus + Eliwood rush. Stealing the Silver card would have been possible but cost a few turns.

Chapter 19: 5/66

Standard Marcus rush yet again. I have to force my luck, making Marcus hit a 10% hammer crit to 5 turn it.

Chapter 20: 4/70

Marcus rushes, draws Oleg, Matthew grabs the Hero Crest. The end. I also grab the elysian whip just because.

Chapter 21: 1/71

Marcus crits with his short spear.

Chapter 22: 9/80

Pent decides to take very long, one of two bosses decides to chase Pent instead of me. Costs lots of turns =/ Matt grabs the Ocean Seal.

Hey. Chapters 4, 13x, 15, 24, and 31 want to talk with you. Only 22 ends early.

I assume you mean 15 and 31 by Hector mode numbering (the first one not existing in Eliwood's tale, which we're playing here), although that would be 24 by Eliwood mode numbering. Also, 17(E)/18(H) can be ended early as well.

Chapter 20: 4/70

Marcus rushes, draws Oleg, Matthew grabs the Knight Crest. The end. I also grab the elysian whip just because.

I pictured Oleg committing ritual suicide due to the dishonour of having his Knight Crest stolen. :)

Ch 27 13/139

It's amazing how much easier this is once you know the recruitment patterns. I feel like I ought to be able to improve even more here. Eliwood doesn't get very much exp here, and auto-promotes still at lv 13.

Canas handles the aggro mounted units in the east (standing before the bridge to avoid the reinforcement trigger), eventually doubling back to help Louise and Eliwood who stay in the corner to recruit Vaida and dispatch wyverns. Marcus, Lowen and Harken work as a team to rush to the vertical line of forts. Harken goes crazy with a Hammer and Light Brand while Marcus does his usual thing and Lowen... chips mostly, because he 3HKOs even the Knights. Bartre and Serra manage some assists here, although they have to stay back once the nomadic troopers are aggro'd. Wallace, meanwhile, lures the 3 south island swordsmen on turn 1 EP, then goes around (avoiding the reinforcement trigger) and mostly solos the area around the ballistae (the Warp village gets destroyed, and not a single fuck is given) until Lowen can assist near the end because he had a few unlucky misses. Once recruited, Vaida stows the Spear and picks up the Fell Contract from Merlinus, carefully picks a path to the shops, and buys a bunch of Silvers plus more stuff for Canas. Swordslayer!Harken and Brave Lance!Marcus tag-team the boss and still need 2 turns. Sigh.

Oh crap, I forgot to get Lightning for the newly promoted Serra. She'll be furious with me, especially since I can't make good use of her in Ch28 now.

Eliwood 13/1.00, 34hp 10/10/12/10/13/6

Marcus 18.96, 45hp 18/22/17/14/13/15

Lowen 13/6.71, 40hp 11/11/12/12/15/8

Bartre 11/5.06, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9

Serra 10/1.41, 22hp 11/12/12/11/7/12, gorgeous.

Canas 11/6.32, 30hp 14/12/13/10/8/13

Wallace 9.35, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7, +skill both times. He's got skillz.

Louise 8.71, 31hp 12/16/19/19/9/13

HARKEN <3 16.46, 45hp 24/22/19/13/20/13, an absolute monster imo.

Ch 28 9/148

I tried a few different things but it seems that this can't really be done faster without a good magical unit like Pent to (a) Physic Eliwood and (b) use long-range magic to take out various annoyances (like the enemy Bolting!Sage). Harken on the left, Marcus on the right distracting Georg. Harken takes out the Warrior near Eliwood while he waits out of range. A bunch of heavily-used Hand Axes and Javelins get used up, as well as the last of the Light Brand (oops - well, it probably wouldn't have done much anyway). Merlinus wagon-ifies post chapter.

Eliwood 13/1.51, 34hp 10/10/12/10/13/6

Marcus 19.27, 46hp 18/23/17/14/13/15

Lowen 13/6.71, 40hp 11/11/12/12/15/8

Bartre 11/5.06, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9

Serra 10/1.41, 22hp 11/12/12/11/7/12, gorgeous.

Canas 11/6.32, 30hp 14/12/13/10/8/13

Wallace 9.35, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7, +skill both times. He's got skillz.

Louise 8.71, 31hp 12/16/19/19/9/13

HARKEN <3 16.74, 45hp 24/22/19/13/20/13, an absolute monster imo.

Ch 29 LOL/159

This actually took some strategy, which is some more than expected. Wallace dodged some status at 84% hit rates a few times, which saved annoyance but wasn't really necessary. Serra staffbotted Restore all over the place. Canas was the usual target of Silence instead of Serra, which is fortunate. Lots of enemies were taken out, but Denning survived (I was a bit slow getting to the south, plus Harken ran out of weapons due to bad planning). A couple of thieves were killed for sellable stuff, not that I need the gold or anything. Physic gets worn out >_< Marcus maxes out his exp.

Eliwood 13/2.17, 35hp 10/11/12/10/14/6

Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15, fail final level is fail.

Lowen 13/7.77, 41hp 11/11/12/13/16/8

Bartre 11/5.59, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9, upset that Karla is only in Hector's Tale after all that work.

Serra 10/2.39, 23hp 12/12/13/11/7/12

Canas 11/7.60, 31hp 14/12/14/10/8/14

Wallace 9.83, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7

Louise 10.01, 33hp 12/16/20/20/9/13, I laughed when a Luna!Shaman had 0 crit on her.

HARKEN <3 17.55, 46hp 24/22/19/13/20/13, another fail level :(

EDIT I forgot to mention: I got Marcus x Lowen C support here. Also, I deployed my units such that the southeast room started out empty. That might not have been the best decision in terms of maximizing Exp gains.

Ch 29x LOL/164

Opposite day. Craploads of useless stuff is sold pre-chapter, everyone assembles a full inventory of good stuff, and I conclude that I don't really need to buy anything except some Lightning and Shine for Serra and a round of Elixirs. Vaida is fielded to do that while others use the arena. The arena operator seems to really hate Eliwood and, for some reason, Canas. Eliwood almost dies in his one fight after a crucial miss, followed by an enemy miss, a miss on his double attack, and finally a hit. Merlinus visits the house (how many of you have ever done that?) and gets some of the most dull advice ever.

Eliwood 13/2.44, 35hp 10/11/12/10/14/6, so little exp for such an epic battle.

Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15, fail final level is fail.

Lowen 13/8.00, 42hp 11/12/12/13/16/9

Bartre 11/5.96, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9, must have missed that level just to spite me.

Serra 10/2.73, 23hp 12/12/13/11/7/12

Canas 11/7.70, 31hp 14/12/14/10/8/14

Wallace 9.83, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7

Louise 10.82, 33hp 12/16/20/20/9/13

HARKEN <3 18.12, 47hp 24/22/19/13/21/13

Chapter 20 - 3/70

So it was ANOTHER Marcus rush with everyone clearing the way. Man, this game goes down easy with Marcus at the forefront. Fire Emblem Blazing Sword, you don't impress me.

Name Class Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Eliwood Lord 8.89 23 10 07 12 10 07 01
Marcus Paladin 11.08 36 20 19 14 10 11 13
Rebecca Archer 9.76 21 09 09 13 10 04 04
Hector Lord 12.51 30 12 13 10 07 18 03
Serra Cleric 4.83 19 02 08 11 08 03 08
Lyndis Lord 12.64 25 10 16 15 09 03 02
Wil Archer 8.94 23 08 08 08 09 06 03

Chapter 21 - 3/73

So I had Marcus drop Eliwood to recruit Heath (with Legault opening the door), and had Hector draw out bossman before Lyn killed him. Of note is that Rebecca finally got B in Bows, so she can use the BRAVE BOW.

Name Class Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Eliwood Lord 8.91 23 10 07 12 10 07 01
Marcus Paladin 11.18 36 20 19 14 10 11 13
Rebecca Archer 10.22 21 10 09 14 11 04 05
Hector Lord 12.92 30 12 13 10 07 18 03
Serra Cleric 5.06 20 02 08 12 09 03 08
Lyndis Lord 13.64 25 10 17 16 09 04 03
Wil Archer 9.43 24 09 09 09 09 07 03
Heath W.Knigt 7.30 27 11 08 07 07 10 01

Chapter 22 - 7/80

FUCKING reinforcements. Could've finished this in like Turn 4 or something otherwise.

Name Class Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Eliwood Lord 9.24 24 10 08 12 11 07 01
Marcus Paladin 11.50 36 20 19 14 10 11 13
Rebecca Archer 11.25 21 11 09 15 11 05 06
Hector Lord 14.30 32 12 15 11 09 20 05
Serra Cleric 5.54 20 02 08 12 09 03 08
Lyndis Lord 14.13 26 10 17 17 10 04 03
Wil Archer 9.83 24 09 09 09 09 07 03
Heath W.Knigt 9.01 30 12 09 08 07 10 02

Holy shit, Hector gained defense on practically EVERY SINGLE LEVEL.

Chapter 23 - 5/85

So I basically sent Marcus, the Lords, and Wil up to take out Lloyd and the main force while Rebecca and Heath helped Wallace out. Heath got the Earth Seal at the end.

Name Class Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Eliwood Lord 9.86 24 10 08 12 11 07 01
Marcus Paladin 13.01 38 21 21 14 11 12 13
Rebecca Archer 11.94 21 11 09 15 11 05 06
Hector Lord 14.75 32 12 15 11 09 20 05
Serra Cleric 5.54 20 02 08 12 09 03 08
Lyndis Lord 15.16 27 10 18 17 11 04 04
Wil Archer 10.73 25 10 09 10 09 07 04
Heath W.Knigt 9.25 30 12 09 08 07 10 02

Chapter 24 - 15/90

So Marcus and Heath take the south, while Rebecca and Wil take the middle, and Hector soloes the right side of mages (and later, Wyvern Knights) while Eliwood and Lyn just meander for the 15 turns and sometimes kill stuff.

Name Class Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Eliwood Lord 10.44 25 11 08 13 11 07 01
Marcus Paladin 13.42 38 21 21 14 11 12 13
Rebecca Archer 13.65 24 12 09 17 12 06 07
Hector Lord 19.69 32 15 17 12 10 20 05
Serra Cleric 7.31 21 03 09 12 09 03 10
Lyndis Lord 16.01 27 10 19 17 12 04 04
Wil Archer 12.88 27 10 10 12 09 08 05
Heath W.Knight 14.06 34 16 13 12 08 11 03

Chapter 25 - 10/100

So I had everyone rush the left side, and after the snow ended, Eliwood/Marcus went to the boss, Hector went back and took care of the other Wyvern Knights, Lyn waited for Karel (who I had to waste two turns to get), and everyone else did their stuff. Embarrasingly, I forgot to bring a lockpick, but I'll deal with it, I suppose.

Name Class Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Eliwood Lord 10.85 25 11 08 13 11 07 01
Marcus Paladin 14.46 39 21 21 14 12 12 13
Rebecca Sniper 1.85 28 15 10 18 12 08 09
Hector G.Lord 2.04 41 16 20 15 10 21 10
Serra Cleric 8.76 21 03 10 12 09 03 11
Lyndis Lord 16.43 27 10 19 17 12 04 04
Wil Sniper 1.80 30 11 11 14 09 10 08
Heath W.Lord 2.58 39 16 15 14 08 11 05
Karel Smaster 8.00 31 16 23 20 15 13 12

Damn, Karel is awesome.

Refa, 15+7=22, so you're a turn shorter than you're claiming. Also, you recruited Legault just for his stuff? Could you have 5-turned otherwise?

OK, I fixed it. Wierdly enough, I made ANOTHER math error, expect +1 in my favor, so it all balanced out in the end. laugh.gif

PS FUCK I HATE EDITING CODE.

Ch 30 10/174

A handful of restarts because Eliwood is too good at attracting the attention of random stray arrows when low on HP, the two Heroes in the north are douchebags and Limstella is, like, allergic to criticals or something.

Everyone except Wallace and Louise rushes north and then east. Louise uses the ballistae to snipe some long-range magic users and other annoyances, and Wallace rescues Nils and wanders into the center of the map, where he's practically untouchable. Serra, Bartre (true story: I keep writing Dorcas instead), Canas and Renault (recruited by Merlinus) grind the wyvern reinforcements while all the horsies head for Limstella's stable. I accidentally burn a charge of Fortify for no reason. Spear!Marcus and Brave Sword!Harken kill Limstella with 1 round each, needing any one of those six attacks to crit, and Eliwood seizes.

Eliwood 13/3.48, 35hp 11/12/13/11/14/6, nice level-up.

Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15

Lowen 13/8.92, 42hp 11/12/12/13/16/9

Bartre 11/6.43, 44hp 15/11/9/8/10/10 that's TEN fucking res.

Serra 10/5.33, 26hp 13/13/14/12/7/12

Canas 11/8.45, 31hp 14/13/14/10/8/14

Wallace 12.69, 41hp 23/13/10/15/22/9

Louise 11.95, 33hp 12/17/20/20/10/13

HARKEN <3 19.29, 47hp 25/22/20/14/21/13, yes, one of my units capped a stat in a draft.

Renault 16.40, base, lower MAG as a lv 16 prepromote than fucking SERRA, now that's sad.

Holy shit I'm almost done.

Chapter 23 - 6/84

For Horace's 3-turn strategy to work, Marcus cannot be doubled by Lloyd. Guess what stat my Marcus is screwed in?

Instead, I had Oswin walk up to Lloyd, because he could take all the other hits, and live. Marcus finished with the Swordreaver. Got the Earth Seal, some reavers, a bunch of healing items, and Wallace on the last turn.

Name Class Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Eliwood Lord 13.64 29 13 9 12 14 7 3
Marcus Paladin 13.41 40 19 19 12 14 12 11
Oswin General 2.77 38 18 11 10 5 18 9
Serra Cleric 3.97 18 3 5 9 7 2 6
Florina Peggy 10.34 24 8 13 14 12 5 6
Legault Thief 14.13 28 8 12 17 12 8 4
Isadora Paladin 2.84 29 13 12 16 10 8 6

Now, quick mid-game notes:

Eliwood - Strength blessed, and a little off on the defensive parameters.

Marcus - HP and Luck blessed, and a full two points screwed in Skill and Speed. Bloody hell.

Oswin - If I've calculated this right, he's doing okay. I think.

Serra - Pfeh.

Florina - She's HP blessed, and everything else (sans RES) is more-or-less on target.

Legault - Gained all of two levels, but seems to be doing okay.

Isadora - Yay HP level.

OVERALL:

Marcus being screwed in a really important stat (Speed) isn't very helpful. This will take a while.

Mine couldn't dodge everything else that came after him, so he died. Horribly. That's why I had Oswin do the dirty work. I'm on Chapter 24 now, and am using Fiora to keep people out of combat.

Back to the game!

Chapter 24 - 11/95

Pent broke two Elfire tomes on this map. I got my Killer weapons, and a ton of experience. I might be able to use two Assassins this time~!

Chapter 25 - 11/106

Rescue-chaining does not work when the RNG is hellbent on killing Legault (he died to something like 3 30-40% attacks in a row). Instead, Eliwood walked the entire way, with Marcus and Isadora desperately keeping those flying nuisances off of everyone's back. Looted the castle, and snagged Harken. Oswin did his best to protect Serra and Merlinus.

And I completely and utterly forgot about Pent. DERP.

Chapter 26 - 15/121

I got to Nino quickly, then slowly chewed my way through reinforcements. Legault was used as a dodge tank. I eventually got to Ursula, where Legault (Killing Edge, no crit), Isadora (Silver Sword), and Eliwood (Rapier) took her out for good. Got to 26x by the skin of my teeth.

The only treasure obtained was the Delphi Shield. That's the important one~!

Lloyd is ridiculously fast. Marcus will need one or two WTA-assisted dodges.

Ch 31 10 (pt 1) + 4 (pt 2) = 14/188

I'm done!

I don't have Luna which makes this chapter a serious pain. To get it in Ch 19 would have required a penalty for a thief AND extra turns to escort Matthew probably or else for Legault to get there from his recruitment point. It might have been worth it, though. There's apparently also a droppable Luna in the desert, but I guess Pent gets to that bastard faster than anyone without a flier can. This means Athos has to rely on Aureola for the dragon and Nergal, Forblaze for most enemies in Pt 1 and sometimes Luce for crits. Also, Jerme is a fucking troll who likes to dodge and not get crit, and I have to choose two team members to bench because of all the forced deployment slots. And I don't have Sleep or Berzerk which makes the Reed brothers very dangerous.

Lowen and Serra didn't make the cut because I don't need that many healers and their offense is, quite frankly, horrible. Although I found in practice that Bartre was also pretty much useless here, and Wallace close to useless because 22 def just isn't enough against these bosses when they double you with their S-rank weapons.

Part 1, Harken uses a Door Key to get at Darin quickly and obliterate him with a Killer Axe. Hector, Lyn, Nils, Eliwood and Bartre run to camp at the north gate while Athos solos the northwest magic room, comes back to Luce Brendan in the face, and then heads off to cast more spells as Linus and Lloyd. The other units fall back on turn 1, then trap Uhai against the wall and wail on him until Louise can claim Rienfleche, which she can use to chip some of the other bosses. Jerme and Ursula's room is ignored and they are allowed to run up to the main party (who have all assembled in the north, except for Wallace who didn't have enough movement and got trapped and pwned by Ursula - probably avoidable, but so many other things can go wrong here that I eventually gave up) while Lloyd and Linus are getting tag-teamed every way I can think of. I think I had a 9-turn for this on one attempt, but then I managed to let Lyn get Bolting'd on turn 1 in part 2 >_< Anyway, eventually the gates open, and Athos hits Nergal on PP + EP + PP to start part 2, while some other units try their luck on the initial Sage and Druid. I think Renault got berzerked, which didn't matter because Athos just killed Nergal to end Pt 1 and clear his status.

Part 2: things get even worse as I realize that Mend!Renault won't heal Athos enough to let him withstand another attack from the dragon (should have bought Recover :P), so Canas has to assist on turn 1. (And no, using Serra instead wouldn't help... actually, if I sent out all three and Serra somehow levelled twice in part 1 and procced Mag both times, I guess it could be made to work... that sounds like a good way to drive myself insane with the RNG though.) After that, Athos starts using Elixirs while Basilikos!Harken is able to do 7 damage, so 3 hits from Harken + 5 from Athos = dead dragon.

Eliwood used Durandal once, but I don't recall where. Maybe on that Sage. I guess I could have had Eliwood land the finishing blow by healing Athos before his final attack...

Eliwood 13/4.35, 36hp 11/12/13/12/14/7

Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15

Lowen 13/8.92, 42hp 11/12/12/13/16/9

Bartre 11/7.13, 45hp 16/11/9/8/10/10

Serra 10/5.33, 26hp 13/13/14/12/7/12

Canas 11/9.51, 32hp 14/13/15/10/8/14

Wallace "So I'm to die in battle, am I?"

Louise 13.43, 33hp 13/17/21/20/11/14, for once my units don't get HP-blessed.

HARKEN <3 19.92, 47hp 25/22/20/14/21/13, so close.

Renault 18.27, 45hp 13/22/20/10/15/19

Athos 20.00, base, lol.

I guess I should have got Merlinus's stats before the chapter :P

Chapter 26 - 15/115

So Eliwood, Marcus, Rebecca, Hector, and Karel took the left while the rest took the right. Thanks to the thieves, I got all of the items, and I killed Ursala earlier because she was kind of bothersome. Oh, and I recruited Nino, because why not? Time to do Chapter 26x. laugh.gif

Nino was actually somewhat helpful! She gained a fuckwin of levels, at any rate, while Heath helped clear everything else out. I'd say this is the first chapter where Marcus wasn't the MVP.

Chapter 28 - 7/137

Well...that was a throwaway chapter.

PS Did I mention how awful this editor is?

This is where my cavalry pay off. Marcus, Prissy, Fiora and Rath charge ahead, rescuing Erk, Lucius, Eliwood, Ninian, and Hawkeye whenever they are in danger of falling behind. Serra makes her own way, cause she’s a badass. (Apart from Eli and Nin, they all have 6 move, so horsies only rescue when a foot unit waits next to them, and in Ninian’s case, another mounted unit can drop them later on). With the power of dance, everyone reaches Nino as the first thieves exit the room. Nino is recruited, then taken to safety (Zephiel’s room) by Prissy. Marcus kills the DS thief (Rescue thief is spared, which leads to a funny situation later on when Serra bumps into him; I imagine it is kind of awkward.)

Fiora charged along the perimeter of Zeph’s room to nab the BL thief. Rath bails her out, while Hawkeye, Marcus and Erk choke the staircase where Ursula is. Prissy uses Physic, not because she can’t reach, but to get to Lv 10 by the end of the chapter.

Eliwood finishes Ursula by rapiering her, and trains on shamen. Fiora reaches C swords, because I am an idiot and like grinding swords on GBA fliers.

Name Level HP St Sk Sp Lu De Re B W
Eliwood 19.01 34 12 17 15 14 10 7 154 67

27: 10 /151

Eliwood handles the myrmidons, Erk takes on the cavalry from the east. Then, they wait for Vaida to get there. Eliwood recruits her, then flees. Erk stays behind to attract the generic wyverns, standing in a forest so he can dodge reliably. The rest of the units stream up the middle, slaughtering everything in their way. Fiora and Rath deal with the troopers, Hawkeye and Marcus and Lucius stand on the forts to stop the reinforcements and tank the aggressive enemies. Afterwards, Hawkeye and Fiora chip at Linus with Silver Lance and Swordreaver. Marcus is doubled with the Brave Lance, so he, Serra, Prissy and Vaida stop knights from appearing while Rath and Hawkeye mop up.

28: 8/ 159

Priscilla, on the magic path, and Fiora on the archer path, charge through. Eliwood makes his max move each turn. Priscilla’s job is to keep Eli alive, and reach the area where she can chip the Warrior so that Eli can ORKO him. Fiora’s job is to aggro George. Turn 8 clear.

29: 11/170

Marcus and Hawkeye covered the western entrance. Eliwood, Rath and Fiora took the eastern ledge. After Sleep and Berserk ran out, it was trivial to defend. The others boosted their staff rank. For fun, I spammed Physic, then Hammerned it.

29x: 5/ 175

Apart from buying stuff, I trained Fiora and Eliwood in the arena. Erk hit D staves, and Lucius is on the verge of B staves.

Name Level HP St Sk Sp Lu De Re B W
Eliwood 19/5.22 40 16 18 16 14 11 11 208 89

Nils 8.11 18 0 0 14 16 8 10 0 0

30: 9/184

Everybody charged forward into the centre. The cavalry and wyverns broke against the wall of Fiora, Eliwood, Marcus and Hawkeye. On the end of Turn 3, Marcus sat on the northwestern fort in the valley, and Fiora sat two squares southwest on the mountain, and Nils was in the forest. Lucius reached B staves and backed them up with Physic.

Turn 4, Marcus grabbed Rath and ran forward, being careful not to trigger the reinforcements near Limey. Fiora dropped Rath and flew back; Nils sang, and she grabbed Eliwood.

Turn 5, Marcus dropped Eliwood, Fiora moved back to her place, Nils sang again, Fiora grabbed him and moved forward, Rath dropped Nils in the forest.

Turn 6, Eliwood moved three spaces below the bridge after being Nilsung, rescuing Nils on the way. Rath sat above him and dropped Nils to the right, Fiora rescued Marcus and sat to the left of Rath.

Turn 7, Fiora moves her range and drops Marcus on the fort, blocking the General. Rath kills the ballistae, and Eliwood moves next to Rath in the forest. Nils runs to safety, his job done. Limstella Bolts Rath.

Turn 8, Rath uses Silver Bow, Fiora Spear, and Marcus Killer Axe. I need two KA crit, or one Spear and one KA crit to OHKO her, not that it matters, since Eliwood can’t reach on turn 7. Not even Nilsing him on 7 can help. I only get the one KA crit, though. Limey Bolts Eliwood, which makes it trivial to kill her on turn 9 and seize.

F: 9+ 2/ 195

Hawkeye, powered by Ninis, takes the hit from Uhai, and Fiora, Erk, Lucius, Hawkeye and Rath finish off him and his cronies on turn 2. Athos soloes the magic users with Luna, Eliwood and Marcus kill Brendan and his friend on turn 3 after Athos sleeps him. Turn 4, the squad that killed Uhai work on Darin, after Athos sleeps him. Athos soloes Ursula and Jetsam, and guess what I did to Lloyd and Linus so I could kill them easily? (I didn’t actually sleep Linus; Luna, Aureola, Rex Hasta and Brave Lance ganged up on him.). Nergal’s door opens on turn 8. Unfortunately Athos can’t reach him, so he attacks Nergal on turn 9 (double Luna FTW) and Marcus with Basilikos and Eliwood with Durandal finished. Athos and Eliwood attacked the dragon on turn 1, then healing happened. It attacked Athos on EP, so I didn’t need to Nilsing Athos to finish on turn 2.

Eliwood 19/8.37 43hp 18 20 19 15 13 11 222B 95W

Pretty good, though a little weak before promotion. His horse made him very useful in rescue chains.

Marcus 15.40 42hp 20 23 14 11 13 12 249B 147W

MVP. Early chapters are trivial with him, I should have used him better. Still the strongest unit (barely). Speed hurt him lategame.

Serra 7.26 19hp 5 8 9 9 3 11 21B 0W

Made mostly redundant by Prissy. Didn't participate in the last chapters.

Erk 17/7.39 38hp 14 15 19 10 8 17 141B 107W

A very good win percentage. His speed meant he could double most things, and hitting Res is always a bonus. His availability snagged him 5th MVP.

Priscilla 10/5.49 26hp 11 11 9 15 9 18 58B 13W

Staff and horsey. Never took off combat wise, I'm amazed she racked up as many kills as she did. Utterly pointless S staves.

Lucius 15/8.25 32hp 22 16 15 5 6 17 89B 62W

I think he got the Lilina treatment. Not what I expected, but it made him a very potent healer once he could use Physic.

Fiora 18/11.98 40hp 18 23 24 14 11 20 208B 102W

Runner-up for MVP. She feasted on mages early, and most other things later on. Her utility was unparalleled, her only weakness is AS loss.

Nilsian 9.87 19hp 0 0 14 17 9 11

3rd MVP. Dancer made my life easier.

Rath 17/10.01 45hp 16 19 22 11 13 14 120B 64W

Overcame a slow start thanks to 22x. 4 movement through forests and snow was useful for rushing the later chapters. Dibs on high-level bows.

Hawkeye 13.15 55hp 22 15 12 17 15 15 99B 49W

4th MVP. Basically Marcus on foot from the moment he joined. Never died, not once. Insane durability.

Athos 20.00 Base 12B 6W

Great availability, not much power.

Final Turncount: 212. Silly game.

212 - 16 for 22x - 5 survival chapters + 1 penalty (totally worth it) = 195 turns.

Apparently Bern and Etruria sought my skills.

Unit analysis tiem!

ATHOS

Is Athos. Did most of the heavy lifting in final. 'Nuff said.

MARCUS

Marcus gonna Marcu. He capped exp in an LTC run while most enemies gave him pathetic exp. That kinda says it all. No idea how Baldrick only got him to lv 15, really. I'm guessing Horace capped him during final?

HARKEN

Basically MVP from his recruitment onward. Even without HHM bonuses his stats are just ridiculous. Marcus and Lowen have to rescue-chain him in a couple of places because of only having 6 move. The only downside is that you get him (instead of Karel) by "doing poorly" on those maps, but that didn't really matter since I wasn't about to open a bunch of doors early on Ch 20 anyway - too hard to move around.

LOWEN

A solid effort. He built up a pretty decent buffer for tanking stuff, but it wasn't good enough for final (so I benched him) because of bad Speed, and his bad Str also meant he couldn't do much more than chip in other late-game chapters.

ELIWOOD

The King. The most important unit, but also rather weak. He was OHKOd and doubled by the Dragon, even though he was HP-blessed (missing only one HP gain out of 15 level-ups - granted, he's expected to make 12 of them). I used him quite a bit less than other teams managed to... but yeah, compared to averages for 13/4, he had (with some rounding) +2 HP, -3 STR, = SKL, -1 SPD, -2 LUK, +4 DEF, -1 RES. So fairly average overall, but really weird overall.

SERRA

Yay for not being screwed out of a healer. I used her more than most other teams, and she got to fight in Ch 30 and even take out a couple of units. She was also massively MAG-blessed, with close to average stats everywhere else. I should have used her in final.

BARTRE

YO DAWG I HERD YOU LIKE BOTTOM TIER UNITS SO I PUT BARTRE ON YOUR TEAM SO HE CAN COST TURNS WHILE HE FAILS TO SAVE TURNS.

I can't believe I actually tried to make use of this guy. He did, to his credit, make the 5-turn possible on Ch19 by OHKOing some Knights with the Hammer that were in the way of Marcus and Eliwood's march. However, I failed to 5-turn Ch13 even though I had him to break the snag, and because I let him get more exp than Serra + Canas, he effectively cost me like at least 10 turns by giving me Jerme's map. I also brought him to final, where he did nothing except some rescues/drops. Bosses all doubled the shit out of him and 10 def/res is not really that much against the legendary weapons. I should have brought Serra to final instead.

CANAS

I couldn't get Luna efficiently in Ch 19, and I missed it in the desert (apparently it's dropped by a shaman, but I guess Pent picks him off first). And that's the only thing that really makes him awesome. As is, he was still decent, because he could Nosferatu-tank fairly effectively, and had decent speed and not horrible durability even without Nosferatu.

LOUISE

I stole her away from Kngt_Of_Titania >:) She mostly used Killers and got lots of crits, many of them unnecessary. She also picked off some key units with the Longbow, which was very much appreciated. Although in many cases she could have done better if she just had an extra point of movement :P

RENAULT

Better known as "Fortify". Although I let him use it instead of Serra in final because I figured he'd actually be able to not die if he had to face a round of combat. Turns out that keeping your healers away from the bosses is not so hard, and I should have used both.

WALLACE

Saving the "best" for last. I think I should get honourable mention for actually semi-intentionally roleplaying this guy. He basically was always wandering off, never moving forward with the main pack. When there was somewhere else he could go with enemies (wyverns on Jerme's map, center on VoD) he was amazing (although really only necessary for Jerme's map). When there wasn't, he was completely useless. He picked off the Bishop in Ch26 basically just so I could listen to Victory Road a bunch. And then he got himself killed in the final chapter, a true general's death, because he wandered off too far and couldn't get back to safety.

Well, this was when I found out that I was severly undersupplied, and thank god for Ch29x. Anyways, this was easy enough, although the sleep stave dudes were real bitches. I did hold off on killing Denning for maximum EXP gain.

Chapter 29x- FREE+50000/50148

I'M SORRY GUYS, THIS CHAPTER WAS SO MUCH FUN, I COULD NOT HELP HIGH TURNCOUNT.

Chapter 30- 9/50157

Basically Heath carried Eliwood and everyone else followed behind. Fun times for all, probably could've finished it a few turns sooner if I was a little smarter, but whatever. Let's get this draft over with.

Final Chapter- 10 (or was it 11)/50167

Everyone killed all of the badguys, it was awesome.

Final Chapter Part 2- 3 (or was it 11)/50171

So the dragon was a pain in the ass, and I could've saved one turn if Eliwood had 2 or 3 more strength. angry.gif So let's evaluate my undoubtedly grade A team.

Eliwood- Couldn't have beaten the game without him

Eliwood.png

OK, so his stats are rather good (well, decent at best skill and luck), but that's mostly because he got a few perfect (or near perfect, I don't remember) level ups. And the Dragon still doubled him with Durandal, so he was good for nothing except delivering the final blow. All in all, Eliwood wasn't that useful, he's certainly no Marth.

Marcus- The saving grace of the earlier maps

Marcus.png

So my Marcus ended up with ridiculous strength and skill, but unfortunately, all of his other stats didn't grow much. Of course, he was still the MVP of the game, just saying he could've made the final map a lot easier with the right growths.

Rebecca- Great...for an archer

Rebecca.png

Rebecca turned out well enough, and she did help some in the final map, but her early game was awful and she only started to become useful in the later maps. Honestly, Louise would be a much better pick, but whatever.

Hector- Godwin almighty

Hector.png

So Hector turned out, well, FANTASTIC. Really helped out in the final battle. If my Serra had more magic (grumble grumble), the dragon boss fight might not have taken so long.

Serra- Garbage

Serra.png

Yes, yes, she saved me turns when it came to staff utility, and that was helpful. However, while her skill, speed, and resistance stats were VERY good (only RES helped, really), her magic was GARBAGE. She literally had 5 magic before the last chapter. WOW. So, thanks for nothing, Priscilla's way better in EVERY aspect to you anyways.

OK, that's not true, Serra's a very "loveable" character, but seriously?

Lyndis- Like that one guy, but better

Lyndis.png

So Lyn turned out....OK, and was quite helpful. However, I think she got majorly speed screwed, and her strength's not that great either. She's great when you already have a few heavy lifters, which I did later on. Too bad Sol Katti is useless.

Wil- Well...he did better than usual

Wil.png

Wil got some pretty amazing level ups, but he stil ended up being not as useful as Rebecca. Still, he wasn't bad. Then again, he helped me about as much as Nino, so....

Heath- ALMOST as useful as Marcus

Heath.png

LOOK AT THOSE STATS! As you can see, Heath's flying utility was damn useful, not to mention he ended up being ridiculously good himself. Besides a few more points in resistance, he basically turned out perfect. Well, a few more points in strength would be nice too, but what he had was good enough.

Karel- Probably killed Lyn at the end of this conflict

Karel.png

Karel turned out really well for me too, although I'd have liked for him to have gotten a few more points in speed. Would've made some of the final chapters a bit easier, you know?

Athos- God incarnate

Athos.png

Thank god IS put him in the game, the final boss would've been significantly more annoying otherwise. Wish I could've given him a Speed Wing or three so he could double the final boss.

Chapter 26x - 19

Turns out I didn't feed as much experience to Eliwood and Florina as I wanted. SORRY~!

Jaffar assassinated Sonia. How fitting.

I approve of this strategy. Cog of Destiny is roflcoptorhard, and Eliwood's poor durability isn't gonna make things easier.

Suggestion; have Marcus/Isadora rush up, and Florina carry him?

It's a rout map, not a seize map. Eliwood is best left near the starting point with some guards, so that Vaida can be recruited instantly and the reinforcement points can be blocked off. Eliwood doesn't do horribly against the reinforcement wyverns if he has a couple of helpers. (I guess the Wyrmslayer wouldn't hurt either, but no chance Eclipse burned turns to grab that...)

Of course, her team actually has Vaida, which is nice :P

Thanks for the correction.

That's exactly what I did, and Eliwood died to something like two low 40% and a 32% hit. All in the same turn.

He needs a better set of bodyguards I guess that will actually take reinforcements out on the turn they arrive. Blocking some of those spots helps too.

I honestly just had Pent, Marcus, and early-promoted Florina blow everything up, and Isadora rescued Eliwood out of the way, and Vaida killed all of the reinforcements. I also avoided triggering all of the reinforcements except for Vaida.
