Ike's generally slayed tons stronger/more than what Roy has and Roy is known for being one of the crappiest lords in FE and Ike only bowing to Sigurd for the title of best lord. Edit: Ike's also a great unit in both of his games, even lacking Ragnell. Ragnell just pushes him off the charts. Roy's pretty damn bad, and the SoS barely pushes him into usable. I am not so sure of that. If I recall correctly, Celice had some guys from the first generation on his side in the Celice versus Marth things. I'd choose Ike over Roy at any time. Better personality, stats, army, and a much better game makes me settle to him. I like FE6, but FE9/FE10 are much better imo. Geoffrey, Oscar and Fiona should count as 'horseback archers' really, since they all get bows on promotion to Silver Knight, and their lances would give them an advantage over the Nomads' swords. So while we're constantly told that Ike's bluntness is a "flaw", it's a flaw that doesn't actually have any negative consequences aside from him getting occasionally told off. As far as gameplay goes, if this anything like the Celice vs Marth chapter seemed to be going by the videos, then whoever you side with will have less units and lower stats than the opponent. The Roy DLC character itself starts with Holy Shield, a level 15 paladin skill and stats and level slightly above Marth's (who's supposed to be a good character), however, he does seem to lack something on the level of Marth's good growth skill.
