Espinosa
Good bulk and typing, and has a very high special STAB with Spark, so it doesn't mind waiting until L30 to evolve. Needs the expensive Thunderbolt TM to function well later on, and that will be the only coverage it will have, which is kinda pitiful. Also slow, leaving you vulnerable to flinching, status attacks and chip damage. Useless ability in-game. 5/
TheVinceKnight
Magneton is so gooood!.... Competitively in 3rd gen at least. Magnet Pull is useless in Kanto, there won't be that many Steel types (none at all probably) and your opponents usually never switch out anyway. Movepool is not really worth it at this stage, and Steel doesn't get a special STAB until next gen. 3rd Generation Magneton isn't that great. Magnezone ftw (who is actually slower than Magneton). 6/

BBM
I'm not going to accept that vote, sorry. His stats may suck, but he's a pokemon that comes in trades (meaning better exp gains), and he comes with Stick, which gives him a very good chance of scoring a crit with Slash when he gets it. He also learns both Swords Dance and Agility naturally and can take the AA TM. For the reasons above, I'm giving him a 3/10.
Ema Skye
Alright... So we've got this bird name Farfetch'd, and it's rocking with a BST of 352. It just so happens that with this BST, Mr. Farfetch'd joins with stats worse than those fully evolved bugs (and chances are, we're done seriously using those guys at this point). Fun Fact, Farfetch'd had the second lowest BST in RBY, losing only to Ditto. With base stats failing to pass 65, Farfetch'd struggles to really do anything. I guess base 60 outspeeds some stuff, but all in all, don't expect Farfetch'd to attack first unless you use Agility. It's only hope at using damage is to rely on Swords Dance boosted crits, but that is hardly anything you'll want to rely on. Worst of all, terrible stats make setting up on anything hard, and your +2 Farfetch'd can still get outsped by most of Kanto. But let's assume it sets up. What can it do? Well, it can try to crit lots of stuff. But without the crits, it's missing KOs. *breaks out damage calc* 0 +2 Atk Farfetch'd (+Atk) Slash vs 0 HP/0 Def Weezing: 71.22% - 84.13% (2 hits to KO) - k, that's cool. Too bad Weezing outspeeds you and... 0 SpAtk Weezing Sludge vs 0 HP/0 SpDef Farfetch'd: 78.21% - 92.31% (2 hits to KO) - Weezing outspeeds and KOs you first 0 +2 Atk Farfetch'd (+Atk) Slash vs 0 HP/0 Def Golbat (+Def) : 95.19% - 112.37% (75% chance to OHKO) - Hey, that's cool. 0 Atk Golbat Wing Attack vs 0 HP/0 Def Farfetch'd: 79.91% - 94.87% (2 hits to KO) - But Golbat also outspeeds and will KO you first. So Farfetch'd can win if it pulls a crit out. Farfetch'd with a stick has a 50% chance for a crit, which I guess is nice if you want to rely on a coin flip. Oh, and you're not getting this awesome STAB attack until Lv.41, which is about the time you get to Koga at. Until then, you're stuck with Aerial Ace and Return. Good luck. tl,dr version: Good things about Farfetch'd: Crits are cool with the stick; gets Fly and Cut; in-game trade means easier EXP (it needs it) Bad things about Farfetch'd: Relying on crits isn't something to rely on; horrendus stats, no coverage outside of STAB (Fury Cutter [lol], Iron Tail [lol] and Theif [lol]); the joys of having a farfetch'd only come after its stats near force it into retirement 0/10 Edited July 30, 2012 by Lucina

TheVinceKnight
Farfetch'd oh my god. What did Game Freak do to this bird. That stick, however... is another story. I'm not going to use Both agility and Swords Dance. It needs both. It's bases are horrible. 2/10. And I'm being generous here. Movepool is shallow. Typing is like the other birds, just that this one particular bird is poop.
Ema Skye
The only things that I would say are worse are: Ditto and Onix. Farfetch'd doesn't deserve to be better than much more than those two.

That's true. I'd probably say 1/10 is best for it, although I honestly did try Farfetch'd once... and it didn't do as well as I expected it to (obviously). Espinosa
Accelerated growth and high crit rate. Even comes with the right nature (Adamant). Needs TMs to function decently (it has to wait for its best moves for a while otherwise). Comes at the right time for Erika, at which point it may or may not know Swords Dance. Has the ability to set up on gym leaders and sweep with Agility and Swords Dance, which isn't something the majority of FR/LG can be given credit for. Slash at L41 can be reached around Silph Co point with a team of 3-4, so it still has for a while. 5/
Shadow Mir
0/10. Although it can become deadly if it sets up both Agility and Swords Dance, it probably wouldn't survive to get there with its awful stats. It doesn't help that by the time Slash comes along, poor stats would've forced Farfetch'd into retirement (and even with Slash, it's still relying on luck to defeat anything, which isn't a good strategy). It doesn't look like it can live after one of them either.
Constable Reggie
Expecting any good out of Farfetch'd is a bit... Far fetched. (sorry) I don't like Farfetch'd that much, tried to use him once and he was real disappointing. 3/10 at least it's not Beedrill and the exp boost was pretty nice. (for the record I'm not a pokemon player expert so this is just based on personal experience, I don't mind if the vote's not counted) Edited July 30, 2012 by Davinatorman

MacLovin
6.5/10 Drill PEck and Tri attack are nice, and so are those stats. Too bad it's not really good past Eirika. {Except for Bruno, but he has Rock Slide/Tomb.}
Espinosa
Better attacker than Fearow but suffers in availability and learns Drill Peck later. Normal/Flying allows you to hit a lot of stuff pretty hard, and it's great against ghosts and Bruno, but most of the time you won't find too much use with that limited coverage. 7/
ULTRA PRODIGY NUXL
Double Tri-attack+Drill Peck for stab. He comes late, but that's his only weakness. Use Pidgeot for NU, Fearow for UU, and Dodrio for OU. 7/10 + 1 because 3 heads/great fighter on my LG Randomizer, and(if this counts) XD Randomizer Nuzlocke. TheVinceKnight
Well, Doduo/Dodrio I admit, is fairly late. That base 110 attack and 100 speed is nothing to laugh at, the rest of the bases are, especially HP (60), Sp. Def (60)... etc. It learns Drill Peck at level 47, which means it's stuck with Peck for a while (unless you give it a TM). Early Tri Attack is pretty good too. Tri Attack / Drill Peck and Steel Wing? for Coverage seems meh. 7/10.
