Jack stared out the window. Dawn. He hadn't slept since coming back from the keep. Too many bad thoughts had kept him awake. The thought of Jacqui lying somewhere dead was killing him. And whenever he managed to get that thought out of his head, it was replaced with the vision of Merry covered in blood or of the last time he'd seen Randel alive and well. He slammed his hand against the window sill. These pointless deaths needed to stop. He had come back here with Irene and the others and debriefed the group on what happened. Now it was time to go.

"Everyone up. We leave in 10 minutes."

Irene stared silently at Jack from her bed. Her night hadn't gone much better than his had. Nightmares had haunted her sleep. She respected Randel and enjoyed being in his service. If he was dead... She shook her head. No time for that now. She stood up and grabbed her pack. Checking to make sure her daggers were well stored, she walked outside. Pausing briefly by Jack, she grabbed his hand, squeezed and then stood against the wall. She just hoped that Miriam would stay strong on her own here. She smiled slightly at the memory of their bet in the inn on the last mission. All that... gone. Her smile gone, she waited for the rest of the group to get outside.

Jordan had spent the rest of his night outside the keep, staring up, until Jack and Irene walked their way out. He'd mindlessly followed them, out of some mental want to not spend the night sleeping on the ground. The morning wasn't much better, and he was pretty out of it. Staying wasn't going to do him any good, but he didn't know if soldiering on would either.
