I'd like to think we're classier than that.

But it's a good plot point. Remember, Sieg was imprisoned for a while.

Levi is trusted because he once was part of Blaine.
They inform them that the real Rebellion is coming.

The thing I don't understand is, wouldn't there be recognizable people
in the rebellion? Either no one knows anything about it or Blaine hasn't
gotten their shit together. I mean, they thought one of Magnus' top generals
was Siegfried.



Eh. I'm sure there's a few characters in your ranks who just view
it as more or less their day job. Like the mercenaries.



Yeah, we remember Risk and Ben.

I lied last chapter. We'll try to use a few more units who didn't
get much screen time. I think this is the last time for sure.




That King is a fatass. Leopold has issues lifting.

To be fair there's a reason the King has so much Con.



Both Anima and Dark. This sorceror class came out long
before Awakening's incarnation of it was conceived.

Additionally this is the only character in the game who has this class.
I think it's interesting as all hell.

Risk here has a good Con and overall decent stats. He comes Late but he is
arguably going to be more useful than some of the other units just due to
his starting stats alone. He also comes with a few awesome things.




And hey! we get Levion again.



Ben tries to guilt me into using him. NICE TRY!



Loyalty is lifting your 20 Con king when your rescue capacity is
only 5 and flying him to safety.



Good growths all around.



We weren't really having trouble. But sure!



Mostly hits. I didn't abuse much to get okay growths.
Alot of it had to do with actually surviving due to who I was using.



Haas returns with Liquid, Storm, Arthur and himself.

Two prepromotes and two who had half of a mode to level.



Sai is getting okay growths but the problem I have is
the fact that his speed is hurting him due to his enemies.

He might have good growths but it's going to murder him.

Also Emma hits level 20.

Light Magic is the Best Magic.

Which is why it's not in awakening. Clearly.



+3 Resistance is nice but everything else here is mediocre as hell.
No speed. Eh.


If Corben fights Risk otherwise.



We recruit him. For all this fuss over Drake it never gets resolved.
I wouldn't mind seeing an epilogue for these two.



HIS GROWTH! SPEED ONLY! IM-IMPOSSIBLE!

Defeating him earns us another secret and ends the level
otherwise the ending is exactly the same.



Surrender is their only option... well there's dying too.




Why do you have to be such a dick? Ugh.

Right here Galagar could have crushed the rebellion but
as you can see, he's got an ego.

Things just go over his head. At least he's honest, unlike Anakin.



We get two options here.

Yes gives us a new unit. And no gives us something to compensate.
Since we can't be completionist here and get every unit in the main game.



We're going to decline him.

Instead we get 10,000 gold and Zane's spear.

Overall, I'd prefer material stuff because I'm just not going to be able
to use another unit. The weapon will be put to very good use at least.
Not only is it strong, it acts like a Delphi Shield.

Chapter 22

Welcome back to Let's Play: The Last Promise.
Where did we leave off?

Kinda funny, good thing we used ours on Kelik.



Shon also knows a surprisingly lot about the blade he finds.

Kelik and Siegfried are locked out of this chapter and we only get
a few slots. But I think we're buff enough to take them all on.



Our reward for doing a few extra things for development. Quite nice.

We fought a bunch of men who liked quoting Anthros who pilot super aircraft ships
that shoot lasers. It wasn't a fun time.

Chapter 23

Welcome back to another episode of Let's Play: The Last Promise.



It's been a while since we last murdered someone.
But we're already tired out.



Powercharging, power killing, killing Magnians, FOUR HUNDRED MAGNIAN!
Siegfried is being way to zealotous.



The angst is strong with these two.
Initiative and promises.

Also we learn that the Pegasus nation will be fine on it's own.



Also this comes up, regardless of if Cia is dead or not.
Kinda funny how some pieces of dialog won't change.

Incidentally, it's disabled on one chapter. But we'll get into that later.

Anyway, later on we come across another area. Time skipping around.
Or location skipping. Same difference.



It means a good place to rest and supplies. Which is excellent.



Also we have a subplot going on. Love this.
Unfortunately not every character gets a little touch like this.

we can't screw around too much.

we have to fight our way through IVAN.

Rana is one of two druids and is my primary go to for Dark Magic.
He is useable and actually is one of my favorite characters in the game.

Rana belonged to the same person who created Tami. I kinda wish he'd show
up again but people disappear. Makes me sad.



THE BOULDER HAS SPEED. Everything else is eh.



Siegfried can recruit Rana as can Kelik.

Rana and Mina. It's really a sad tale... and It's such a small detail.
Anyway, before I piss a certain someone off let's continue.

Here's our boss for the chapter. We've seen him before but now it's
time to give him what for. Looking at his stats and weapon he's not to be
taken lightly.

To be perfectly fair. Siegfried was only level 1 and did that much
damage against Lahar.



The bad guy is forced to retreat. Siegfried lays dead on the cold ground.
Siegfried is actually dead. This is why he remained under level but still for
a main character to die is really unexpected.



Someone is happy... Well. The war isn't over. I've yet to shove a sword
in your face and we're the good guys!



Both of those who can coupe are willing to keep pressing on.
We're so far now and we never needed Siegfried on the field anyway.

Who needs Siegfried when you have THE BOULDER.

Even? Well I'd call it more of a slaughter but
this marks a significant spike in difficulty.

If you remember this guy, you may recall he's one of the bigger bads we saw.
He's a significant general in the army.

One of these senators we've been talking about? He has a support?! GASP!
Additionally there's that Iron Rune to deal with but when we win we get it.

Additionally we have a time limit.



During this play through there was suppose to be a cutscene that relieves
Fredrick from the battle to rescue his daughter whose been taken hostage.

I gotta say that besides this there's not a whole lot
else that goes on save for battle. So. We should spice it up.

WELCOME BACK!

You know the drill by now? Let's get started.









But do you really know the drill?







The second of two baddies. What was this about shifting blame to the senate?



Yes, the finale nears. Doesn't it?



For those of you who didn't know. Shon is locked out after his dead dies.

We didn't really notice did we?




And here we see most of the senate for the first time.



Fredrick? Oh right. I forgot the Galagar part.



And then they try to pick us apart. Assholes.



This is our chosen team for this chapter. This chapter is easily one of
the longest in the game. And also is neat.

Oh. We also picked up a little thing last chapter called Blazer's Drops.
I think we picked it up last game.



Here you go Karina. It may not be an Ether Sphere but it's cool too.



Anakin doesn't want surprises. Got it. Rear Surprises.



Not going to lie to you. Holton is a scary mother ****er.
Also he roams if you're in range to be hit.

The best weapon is the unknown weapon.



Grandma is worth some good growths. I mean, this is
good for me right? Considering last one was bad.

And the turn count is outrageous.



Part of the reason Karina got the drops is so she could potentially
max out her bad growths.

Seriously. The writing in this mod is pretty good if you can
look past some of the past silliness.

Chapter 27

Another long chapter guys. Welcome back to Let's Play, The Last Promise.



This chapter is Meta as ****.



Even when losing Galagar thinks he has the upper hand.

Kelik gets his awesome sword making him the strongest character in the game
effectively. Damn PFR weapons.




Rana is so inspirational.

Galagar is not to be taken lightly.



I think the smartest thing would have been to use it all at once
on their strongest and win that way but okay.



If you're in his attack range. He will chase as he teleports about.

Rachel is pretty sincere about her intent to strike back at this empire and
really she's a favorite of mine too. She is basically going to be the future of
the Magnian empire after this is done.

That and she has looks and an S ranked bow.



More sexy Mark.



If you aren't quick with recruitment Galagar will reach them.
Rachel is surprisingly hard to save unless you rush to her.

"The game was programmed that way."



Pftpftpft. I'm bad at this growth thing.



Move as a group and learn how Galagar is going to move. It's a
pattern that's easy to pick up on.



DAMMIT. YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSE TO CHANGE IT UP YET!



There's this that happens by the way. Galagar once again isn't to be
taken lightly at all. He is one of the final bosses after all.



He also brings in reinforcements.



So let's use Rachel to kill them!

THE BOULDER Think you went wrong around the time his spear entered
your fragile chest cavity. The Boulder thinks that was the bad point in
your life. The spear point.



You think it'd be so simple.



A foreign plague created this situation is what Galagar goes on about.



Talk about Kelik's past and Leon. The Sword Emperor is a badass title.

Out of all these characters I think Apollo is the most interesting.
Holding the title of former mage General and being replaced. Somehow
he seems more developed than the others despite showing only a few times.

I still don't understand Louis here. I think what we see is a man so
desperate to take back everything he thought he had the right to just
take and shape as much as he wanted.

That's right. Leon is a senator isn't he. But what about that Dark Druid too?

This chapter is tricky namely because there are no prep screens.
Whatever Kelik ended the chapter with he goes into this with.

Also if Kelik isn't prepared expect to be stomped.

You don't get the nickname, The Sword Emperor, without being
an arrogant butt head.

His stats aren't even capped. I sense hard mode material.

My own regrets involving Leon are that I could never fight him
with Tekun or THE BOULDER.

Okay guys so it's been a long road. Before I even begin to finish up the Main Game of this Let's Play I have a few other things I want to do. This post is one of them. Somehow you all have kept reading this and I'm ever grateful for it. The fact I get consistent comments (even from a small group) is what motivates me.
