Ok guys, I think it's actually possible to run through the game with not a single Promoted Unit (or, immediate reclasses to Tier 1 for Frederick Libra, Anna, Flavia & Basilio), and since I think it's possible, I'm gonna do it.

However, it sounded too easy (as reliance on Manaketes and Taguels is sort of unfair), so I'm banning them too!

I'll make this as entertaining as possible.


Rules:

  • Hard Mode
  • Units may never be promoted using Master Seals
  • Promoted Units may not see combat until they declass via Second Seal.
  • Second Seals may be used whenever I damn well please, but not to access Manakete or Taguel.
  • The use of the Manakete and Taguel Class is banned, unless I can immediately reclass said character (so, Nowi / Panne are banned from combat, Tiki, Yarne and Nah may be used if I Second Seal them on the turn I recruit them).
  • Tier 2 Skills from Tier 2 Prepromotes are banned from use. This includes passing down. So, no Sol for Flavia!Morgan.
  • Forges = Ok
  • Anna Shops = Ok, but I'm not exploiting for them.
  • Renown = Only for the Second Seal. The "Wireless" Menu will be otherwise banned in its entirety.
  • Avatar will be Female, +Spd/-Def
  • Skirmishes, as voted for, will be allowed.
  • Barracks are ok
  • Must get all sparkly tiles in actual chapters (Skirmishes are optional)

My only contemplation is: Should I allow Skirmishes? I mean, it's not like I'm going to need to Ram my 50Caps since well, I won't actually have caps over what, like 33 or something, but the extra help with Res capping on non-magical units would sure be nice. I'll let you decide for me.

Made her Build 1, blonde, Fem voice 1, with that cute little braid thing going on and named her Elly. Makes it easier when I talk about this thing with real human lingo, and not just typing it.



Pre-Prologue: 2/2
Because FUCKING DUH HOW COULD I POSSIBLY SCREW THIS UP IT TAKES SO MUCH DAMN EFFORT TO FAIL THIS THAT I'D HAVE TO BE BLIND, DRUNK, STUPID, AND HAVE DROOPY ARMS.

Prologue: 9/11 (Heroes, Elly & Lissa)
When in Southtown, a blonde finds treasure, and her name!


Obviously didn't use Frederick. In fact, I never even had to move him one square from his starting position. Got off to a rockin start by pairing up Lissa to Elly and scoring a sweet Thunder crit on on the first Myrmidon. Moved Chrom into the middle of the vendor shops and let him get slaughtered for like meh damage. Killed stuff, killed stuff, healed, healed, killed stuff, and stepped on a sparky spot.

Ended up getting a few meh Levels, but whatever, I can deal with it. I got a Katarina's Bolt from a sparky spot, and 18 free EXP for Chrom.

God after doing Lunatic mode, this is soooooooo breezy.

Chapter 1: 5/16
West of Ylisstol, where cool cutscenes take place and people outrun burning forests.

Watched me some Walking Dea...I mean Risen slaying. Saw Marth fall from about what, 120 feet high, fall to the ground with relative ease, and saw the Falchion glow blue (WHY?). Blah blah blah blah talking, blah blah blah blah what's your name, blah blah blah someone has short hair, oh look the burining forest is back.

Frederick stayed put for the entire chapter while his horse ate tree bark, while Chrom and the girls Thunder'd stuff apart. Should've called it Lightning, because Thunder is the sound while Lightning is th....ehh, whatever.

Elly took the lower fort, while Chrom took the upper. Lissa rode in Elly's pocket, because that's all she's good for in this chapter, and in a bit, Elly said

Chrom, GIMME DAT FORT YORE ON!

so they switched, just in time for Sully to show up and score a few kills, and reach D lances too. Chrom hit D swords. God a lord that can barely use swords. Real inspiring.

That Hand Axe thing can't hit anything, except Virion. WHY VIRION U NO DODJ!

Sully X Virion...agh not this again!

Chapter 2: 7/23
The Northroad OF PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frederick camped in the corner, because camping is what's in these days.

Did a little shuffling and charged straight up with Chrom, toting Stahl, who acted as his other sleeve, and bestowed him with some defense. Played around with Miriel a bit before giving Vaike back his axe, and she obliterated everything she targetted. Must say, I'm pleased with her surprise dodging.

Crossed the bridge with Elly!Lissa and Thunderized a few things. Chrom, Sully and Miriel (toting Vaike by accident) killed everything, and Chrom scored a sweet Rapier crit for the win. Chrom doubles stuff now woot!

Virion did nothing and liked it.

Chapter 3: 11/34 (Heroes: Elly & Miriel)

Standard Stuff. Chrom with Kellam on his back solo'd the entire western front, while the rest of the squad minus Fred tackled the east. Both met up and stomped the armor knights at the same time, then proceeded to smush the boss. I admit I did spend a turn playing on her to get Elly's sword rank up, but alas, it was pretty boring. Completing this, I get access to THE WORLD! Where Anna popped out and had a Second Seal for sale for 2500 wingwangs. I snagged that sucker, and proceeded to get my freebie via the Wireless->Renown zone.

No more Wireless menu for me.


Now, it's off to the Farfort, which is like a fort, but far away. I wonder what lies over there...

Oh boy, recruited Donny here. I kinda like the little hick, so I trained him up a bit (all the way almost to Lv5) while shuffling Vaike and Kellam in his pockets for extra oomph. Took my time because lol, and snagged the Killer Lance because dude it's killer, and Rescue because I'm a fucking completionist.

Donny hit D-rank lances good thing he has no other classes that use lances thank you IS for that brilliant move.

Since I can only use 6 units here, I had to select people I care about a little bit. Game defaults me to Chrom, Elly, Lissa, Virion, Sully and Miriel. No thanks switchup the pansies.

Chrom and Elie, obviously. Lissa because she's doing alright. It's always Vaike time, Donnel because I'm masochistic right now, and Miriel because why the fuck not. Donny takes Kellam's Javelin and Iron Lance (not like Kellam really cares)

Chrom/Miriel stomped some shit, Elly/Donny did the same, and gave Donny the kill because lulz legendary Marth losing to chump farmer.

Lissa you suck at gaining good levels.

Chapter 5: 17/75 (Heroes: Donny & Sully)
Kellam Dodges Axes & Magic

I tried to rush but kept getting held up at choke points. Stupid Fliers.

Decent levels all around and no deaths, though Kellam surprised me with two 80~ dodges. Donny hit lv 9, with sully in his pocket, and now has C lances to use my killer lance. Miriel hit C as well, no restarts. Sweetness.

Afterwards, got to the world map and found two Anna shops, selling a *speedwing, second seal, and also a *Rescue staff. Because I derped and used a rescue with Lissa instead of heal, twice. I bought then all. 748 G left.

Paralogue 2: 8/83 (Heroes: Kellam and Donnel)
When Villagers just don't care


Training ground for Donny mostly. He reached 11 and He gained a few good levels, while Vaike and LonQu failed to proc speed again in their sole levelups. LonQu got Str though, sweet.

With no Freddy and my hating Sumia, I didn't get the Psychic staff from the village. Oops

Tried to chip the boss with Sully, but Vaike was right there and smashed him with the hammer that I forgot to unequip, so Sully got the boss kill. Anna died on EP3 because she felt like dodging absolutely nothing.

Goddess icon get. Armsthrift fodder, maybe miracle fodder.

Considering I found Ephraim's Lance earlier, I decided to take Donny for a trip down reclass lane. He and Kellam solo'd on a fort solo'd everything and Donny jumped from 11.42 to 15.62->3.01 Mercenary (even Kellam gained an albeit shitty level), two bullion (s), two Steel Lances, and Twilight Sparkle gave me a bit of free experience (14) and another Aversa's Night.

Defeating two enemies in the skirmish net'd me a Talisman and 3,000 loot. I won't normally do tons of skirmishes but man I just wanted the prize.

Considering I deployed Maribelle without any inventory whatsoever, I'm amazed that I managed to pull this shit off. Elly, Chrom, Kellam, Lissa and Donny on the left, Miriel, Vaike, Lon'Qu, Maribelle and Sully on the right. I literally didn't even touch the inventory menu or deployment guide, I just hit go, and proceeded to stomp. Recruited Gaius and had Kellam score the final kill on Validar. Panne traded Donny her Beaststone and stood behind him in the choke point, because Donny chokes points (and needs to grind his support rank with her not actually bolstering his stats.

I should have allowed her to be PairUp fodder, this is gonna suck getting Donny to marry Panne.

Chapter 7: 4/95 (Heroes: Sully & The Vaike)
If only I had 4 defense...


Before anything, barracks net'd me another Log. THESE FUCKING TREES MAN. THEY SPEAK TO ME. THEY SAY, LET YOUR HOARSBIRDZ TAKE US TO THE SKYZ!

Poor Heirarch. Treated like a farm animal and OHKO'd by a fighter with 19 atk, when he has 16 HP. 4 Def would've let him at least skim by (or require a second hit), but math man. All that age, no combat prowess.

Anyway, I couldn't have completed this much faster unless I sent W.Rider!Elly right into the fray of archers and shit. Got levels all around, and even used Sully for a bit (May as well have her pass down some sort of skill to KYJelly if Vaike's gonna make her. Didn't use Donny at all. Deployed Ricken and Miriel and they both saw some combat omgz Ricken gained 12 exp. Kellam hit C-lances,

Aghhhhh, took a few tries too. Gaius couldn't dodge a 40% hit for 5 tries...I'm so fail kill me now.

OMG CORDELIA SHOWED UP AND FAILED TO FLY FAST ENOUGH TO ENTER ANY COMBAT BOO HOO. wait a sec. She's flipping out.

Wait, if you're not going to use prepromoted classes unless you can reclass them, then you'll never be able to reclass them... They gotta be level 10 to use Second Seals and there's no way any of the prepromoted you get start out at level 10. I know you'll be able to reclass Nah and Yarne since they start out at level 10.

And yes, Renown is under the Wireless menu as L95 mentioned.

whoops, never tried it.

But yeah, maybe you should let Panne and Nowi be used only if they're reclassed to something else. Or you're planning to get Nah by having Nowi paired up with someone (and uneuipping Nowi?) ?

Alternatively, my plan was to at least marry them off by having them reside as unequipped Pair Up fodder (Nowi and Panne) until they S-ranked.

Am I to assume you banning Nowi and Panne because they can reach level 30 and thus have higher stats then everyone else? I say you should just change them at level 10 considering before that they aren't really that amazing. You also have to take into account Olivia, as a Dancer, can reach level 30 as well and thus should be banned if Panne and Nowi are banned even though she will never have the combat they do in her base class.

Also, I suppose Olivia!30 could be taken advantage of, regarding her lv30 stat caps and stuff. I'll just relegate her to no Second Seal usage on her and not give her a weapon ever.

Obviously didn't use Frederick. In fact, I never even had to move him one square from his starting position. Got off to a rockin start by pairing up Lissa to Elly and scoring a sweet Thunder crit on on the first Myrmidon. Moved Chrom into the middle of the vendor shops and let him get slaughtered for like meh damage. Killed stuff, killed stuff, healed, healed, killed stuff, and stepped on a sparky spot.

Ended up getting a few meh Levels, but whatever, I can deal with it. I got a Katarina's Bolt from a sparky spot, and 18 free EXP for Chrom.

God after doing Lunatic mode, this is soooooooo breezy.

Watched me some Walking Dea...I mean Risen slaying. Saw Marth fall from about what, 120 feet high, fall to the ground with relative ease, and saw the Falchion glow blue (WHY?). Blah blah blah blah talking, blah blah blah blah what's your name, blah blah blah someone has short hair, oh look the burining forest is back.

Frederick stayed put for the entire chapter while his horse ate tree bark, while Chrom and the girls Thunder'd stuff apart. Should've called it Lightning, because Thunder is the sound while Lightning is th....ehh, whatever.

Elly took the lower fort, while Chrom took the upper. Lissa rode in Elly's pocket, because that's all she's good for in this chapter, and in a bit, Elly said

Chrom, GIMME DAT FORT YORE ON!

so they switched, just in time for Sully to show up and score a few kills, and reach D lances too. Chrom hit D swords. God a lord that can barely use swords. Real inspiring.

That Hand Axe thing can't hit anything, except Virion. WHY VIRION U NO DODJ!

Sully X Virion...agh not this again!

Did a little shuffling and charged straight up with Chrom, toting Stahl, who acted as his other sleeve, and bestowed him with some defense. Played around with Miriel a bit before giving Vaike back his axe, and she obliterated everything she targetted. Must say, I'm pleased with her surprise dodging.

Crossed the bridge with Elly!Lissa and Thunderized a few things. Chrom, Sully and Miriel (toting Vaike by accident) killed everything, and Chrom scored a sweet Rapier crit for the win. Chrom doubles stuff now woot!

Virion did nothing and liked it.

If you marry Elly off before then, you're fine, Otherwise, idk.

It should be fine if you just pair olivia up with chrom for her whole joining chapter. I had the same happen with Sumia and it was fine. If you can, pair her now just to be safe.
