Alfred Kamon
When an attack from one of my custom classes miss, this happens: - If the attack is a melee attack, everything works normally but instead of the "miss" sound effect I get the "hit" sound effect. - If the attacker is using magic, and the opponent misses, he displays the miss animation frames the moment the magic is casted (aka when C05 plays) instead of displaying it when the magic should hit. (for example, imagine a shaman casting flux. The opponent avoids the attack the moment when the flux animation starts, not when flux is supposed to hit him) Here are the modes for both the scripts: melee: C03 C072 p- att0.PNGC1E1 p- att0.PNG3 p- att1.PNG3 p- att2.PNGC1D2 p- att3.PNG4 p- att5.PNGC242 p- att5.PNG3 p- att6.PNG2 p- att7.PNG3 p- att8.PNGC242 p- att8.PNG3 p- att7.PNG5 p- att10r.PNGC1E3 p- att11r.PNGC1D3 p- att12r.PNGC1D3 p- att13r.PNG1 p- att14test.PNGC04 C1A C1F 1 p- att14test.PNG C01C23C1C3 p- att18xr.PNG2 p- att19xr.PNGC1E2 p- att20xr.PNGC1C3 p- att21x.PNG1 p- att0.PNGC06C0D magic: C03C076 p- att0.PNG5 p- att1.PNG5 p- att2.PNG5 p- att3.PNGC4A4 p- att4.PNG3 p- att5.PNG4 p- att6.PNG3 p- att7.PNG4 p- att8.PNG4 p- att9.PNG4 p- att10.PNG4 p- att11.PNG4 p- att12.PNG4 p- att13.PNG4 p- att14.PNG4 p- att15x.PNG4 p- att16x.PNG4 p- att17.PNG4 p- att18x.PNG4 p- att19.PNG4 p- att20.PNG4 p- att21x.PNGC04C05L3 p- att20x.PNG3 p- att21x.PNGC014 p- att21x.PNG4 p- att19.PNG4 p- att13.PNG4 p- att23.PNG4 p- att0.PNGC06C0D
Crimson Red
mode 12 is the mode for a missed attack
Alfred Kamon
I know. I just pasted both of modes 12. How is that info going to help me?
CT075
change the hit noise command to the miss noise command
Alfred Kamon
There is no thing like a command for the miss noise. I just compared my script to one of The Blind Archer's and figured out that I had to delete the C1A and the hit sound commands (like C1F - C21). It should work now. I still have no clue about the magic one, though... Edited July 9, 2013 by Alfred Kamon
Crimson Red
you can't just copy/paste the normal attack mode for those attack miss, you have to adjust it slightly. sadly. C04 C05 I have no doc on me right now but I'm pretty sure the "C04" shouldn't be there; C05 should load the spell animation and it's the spell animation that includes the hit. (As for ranged miss--again no doc on me and it's been forever since I've done this, but I think it uses the normal ranged animation.) Attack 1-2 Crit 3-4 Range/Range Miss 5 Crit Range 6 Dodge 7-8 Standing 9-11 Attack Miss 12 I ~think~ EDIT: inb4someonetriestobeasmartassanddistinguishesbetweenmodes1/2and3/4 Edited July 9, 2013 by Burning Gravity
CT075
technically the mode 2 and 4 scripts should be identical and it'd just be the frames that are different
Alfred Kamon
I removed the 04 but I still get the same error... Could it be a strange bug of FE8? But I'm pretty sure that MK404's Josh didn't have the same problem when he missed with his Thunders. Maybe I'll ask him.
CT075
i doubt it's fe8-related because the two games use the same animation system
Mage Knight 404
I removed the 04 but I still get the same error... Could it be a strange bug of FE8? But I'm pretty sure that MK404's Josh didn't have the same problem when he missed with his Thunders. Maybe I'll ask him. Actually it did happen to me. I had to ask Rey to go in the animation data and remove the runes entirely. It worked fine from that point on.
Alfred Kamon
Mmh, thank you for clarifying that. I'll just have to make some progress convincing enough to have someone help me in that too, ahah. I could do that myself but it'd require a lot of time... and it's sweet when someone helps you. *nods* Thank you for all the replies guys, I'll just stick with it for now. Weird thing, though.
