Icon of Sin
But Cali is boring. Book a flight to, like, Uganda, or Palestine or something. It would be way more interesting. I heard Egypt's nice right now! Or how about a visit to Taksim Square in Istanbul? Edited August 17, 2013 by Woodshooter

Interest
New day for new questions, and since I'm a lazy bastard, I'm going to do the opposite of a question I asked earlier: What is one piece of technology that you think will become obsolete within this decade? You can say a singular piece of technology such as "XBox" but it's better to have a more general form of technology (like consoles themselves) due to the scope of the question, since singular pieces of technology frequently become obsoleted by something that is a superior version yet essentially the same piece of technology in the grand scope (i.e. XBox -> XBox 360) Personally, I think that television (at least as it is, so maybe just cable television and stuff?) will become obsoleted in its current state with the internet in existence. Excellen Browning
With the cloud becoming more and more powerful, and with things such as onlive existing, I expect non-integrated graphic cards will become obsolete at some point. I'm not sure how this will end up translating to consoles, but my guess is they'll become obsolete with it.
Dark Sage
Probably donate a bunch because I don't really need all that money anyway Set aside amount n to make sure I will never go in debt for the rest of my life + investments and shit Spend the rest trying to become Tony Stark except really bad at it because I'm not as smart as him :< Or buy lots of bunnies and raise an army Also you don't have any unobtanium to work with
Esau of Isaac
Hmm. Tech that will become obsolete. I mean, I can imagine things related that will be phased out, but the tech obviously won't disappear from use otherwise. Like, I doubt most of us are going to make use of home phone lines a decade from now.
Djeets
le'see,, smartphones will survive this decade.. but may be not next decade, tech that will be obsolete this decade... maybe radio?
Nobody
I can't think of anything that will be obsolete within this decade. That said, I'm terrible predicting things.
Interest
New question. Starting this one early because I'm on east coast time and I need to sleep soon zzzzzz... One thing that PC gamers are typically interested in is the power of their rig. If they have the money, they try to go for the best of the best, potentially building desktops or laptops for their gaming from scratch. While not everyone here is a PC gamer, computer specs can still be important to determine your computer's performance and how well you can do basic things such as web surfing. With that said: What are your computer's specs? Your computer's specs typically consist of a few pieces of information: OS/Operating System: This is the primary "software" that your computer runs off of, determining functionality. Examples of an OS are Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, Mac OS X, Linux, Unix etc. CPU/Processor: The central processing unit determines how fast the computer can run in terms of handling data input/output. This is measured in hertz (or really, at this point, gigahertz) and may be coupled with the name of the processor (for instance, Intel i5). Processors can have multiple cores, allowing input/output priority from multiple running processes to be redirected and thus potentially take less time to run multiple pieces of software (or software that supports multiple cores) RAM/Memory: Random Access Memory determines how many processes can be running at a given time. For instance, with staggering amounts of Random Access Memory, you can run 5 games, Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, and other software at the same time without missing a beat. This is measured in bytes (typically gigabytes at this point in time). Graphics/Video Card: From the integrated Intel vidcards to Nvidia, this tiny piece of hardware determines how well your computer can run graphical applications. This can range from a Youtube video (yes really) to a game. HDD/Hard Drive(s): Your hard drive stores all your stuff, from your documents to your porn pirated movies pirated music. It also contains data associated with your OS, essentially allowing your computer to function. When software is opened, data is read off the hard drive to determine what to do. Not all hard drives are made equal and some can have data read off of them faster than others. Some computers have the capability of running with multiple hard drives. To find your specs, you can find any number of solutions online, but the easiest way I have found by far is to use Speccy (WARNING: This goes straight to the download prompt so you don't have to get bombed by ads and stuff, this software is completely safe to use and it's how I got my specs since I'm a lazy bastard). Just install it (fortunately it won't try to install bloatware or any crap like that), screenshot the specs, and uninstall it, then post the image or copy straight from the window. For example, here is mine: If you are skeptical of using software, just run dxdiag (for Windows only, press Windows button + R, type in dxdiag, press Enter) and copy from the System and Display tabs (this'll get everything but your Hard Drive info, which is totally fine). ... I foresee this question not receiving a lot of answers. Edited August 18, 2013 by Interest

Thor Odinson
Laptop: 2008 Macbook (Aluminum), OS 10.8, Intel Duo (2.0 GHz), Nvidia GeForce 9400, 750GB HD, 4GB ram Pretty worth the money, still works well after nearly 5 years of intensive use (Compsci major means I'm on the computer pretty much all the time, I kinda need to work on it) Desktop: 2013 Asus, Windows 8, i7 (3.4 GHz), Nvidia GT 640, 4TB HD, 16GB ram I moved most of my programming there since sometimes I need to use Visual Studios for certain classes and it doesn't have memory issues, and will be doing some 3D work in the future. Kinda want to move photoshop work there since it handles huge canvases with 0 lag but the tablet works a lot nicer with the mac But mostly I use it to play Assassin's Creed This summer is totally productive This is kinda just off the top of my head i cbf things Edited August 18, 2013 by Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Nightmare
"If you could change one past event, what would it be?" None. I have no regrets in my existence. I am proud of who I am. "What is one piece of "futuristic" technology you think will exist within this decade?" Actually ergonomic and working robotic body parts. Because I'll make them. Or so I hope. "What would you do if you came across a large amount of wealth? You can assume you can buy (almost) anything you want, but you can't just simply buy everything and if you try to you will run out - assume you are as wealthy as Bill Gates or something." I will first leave this country and secure a place in a western country. Then I will slowly become the KING of some place. The greatest king mankind has ever seen. "What is one piece of technology that you think will become obsolete within this decade?" I really don't know. Stuff like this isn't very easy to predict, especially since I don't actually keep up with the tech world. "With that said: What are your computer's specs?" OS/Operating System: Windows 7 CPU/Processor: Intel Core i7 RAM/Memory: 8GB Graphics/Video Card: GeForce GT 630M HDD/Hard Drive(s): 1TB Edited August 18, 2013 by Nightmare
