Ether Posted September 30, 2013 Share Posted September 30, 2013 Finally being propped up to a bit better shape than barely hanging on to life, Elysia, let out a bit of a sigh as she came out on top in a duel with a flame user, sustaining a light wound in the process, but not quite killing the man, this time. "Thanks, for that. He caught me off guard with that opening attack." Elysia noted, thanking Sayina and Adari, the former of which had finished patching her up, and the latter having charged the supposed leader ineffectually. "He's got quite a lot of armour... wouldn't it be best to focus fire him with magic, rather than trying to smash through all that steel?" She called out to the rider, who appeared to be easily the most skilled fighter there... surely she had realized that fact, and probably had another motive in attacking that particular man but... couldn't hurt. A dark beam of energy hit him at his rib cage just as he was about to turn and look, and he fell of his horse, knocked out instantly. He couldn't even hear Jacob calling out to him. The same could not be said for Rimsky, who suffered a knockout blow from the same half elf. Responding to Jacob's pleas, the shaman rushed to the dwarf's side, kneeling down to examine his condition. "Damn! If I could only revive him..." Sayina was unable to get to them, so the task fell to Chandra to take care of Rimsky. She was able to use some healing magic to lessen the severity of the burns, keeping the dwarf alive until he could be revived. To cover up the other burns, Chandra tore part of the bottom of her skirt for makeshift bandages. As she tended to Rimsky, the shaman turned to see the thrall approaching the dwarf, lance at the ready. "He's no threat to you, now stay away!" Chandra warned, remaining on her knees so as to not provoke the enemy. The blank stare on her face made no change, not did her gait; Chandra stayed close to Rimsky to defend him the best she could. Damn, no response. As Chandra reached Rimsky, Jacob spotted a wounded shaman out of the corner of his eye. He quickly sprinted over and gave the man a slash to go along with with his arrow wound. Before he could finish the foe off, however, the half-elf woman leaped onto him and raised her lance, ready to impale the recruit. All the while maintaining that wretched soulless stare. "Enough!" Aldrick ordered, before his thrall could kill his attacker. The tip of her spear stopped inches before his face. "That's enough data for now. We are returning to the base." The thrall disarmed the enemy swordsman, got up, and created what looked like a door, made of dark energy. She then led her master into the portal, and a moment later, the energy dissipated, only leaving an injured and astonished Celisan. Bonus Objective 1 Reached. He had a job of protecting Aina (though, in all honestly, he was unsure whether or not she was still conscious) and he wasn't about to fail. He turned to where he had placed Aina and said, "I'll be back, just give me a moment". Without a moments hesitation, he sprinted towards the thunder mage who had been causing him so much trouble. Judging from the look on the mage's face, he was no doubt readying a counterspell. Zeff had the foresight to change his target, and made a bee line for another mage. Taking him by surprise, Zeff knocked the mage over with a well placed shove. Pointing his sword downwards he jabbed it through the man's heart. Killing him almost instantly. "You're no Senian. You just a fucking murderer. You make me sick..." he said as he took out his sword. She spotted a familiar horse wandering around the field. Though she wasn't a stable person by trade, her father had taught her the very basics of dealing with horses - after all, it was the choice of transportation for much of Inthus. She slowly approached the horse, thankful that it was calm despite the chaos of battle. "You look as lost as I feel," Raelyn told it, as she gently took its reins. Jacob's victory over the shaman had ultimately caused both to leave the field in a portal. What was that about? The magic was interesting enough, but not enough for her to ignore the danger. She stepped away from Rimsky, pointing her staff towards Jacob. "Thanks, Jacob!" she said as she began healing his wounds. Feeling confident that she was, of course, a better caster than he was, she sent a blade of magic his way. "Take this, you foul cretin!" It cut deep, and the man looked ready to fall apart. Linn smiled, and began to turn back to the rear lines, before taking a blast of magic into her back! The caster had somehow held himself together, and launched an attack back at her! "I said DIE!" Anger shot through her, and magic shot from her hand, finishing the first cut her previous attack had made. The man fell, in two pieces. Linn grunted, and hid herself behind Alfonso. "Sorry, I got careless... You don't mind defending me again, do you, Alfonso?" Linn wrecks Caster A and gets a bit wrecked in the process. Figuring the swordsman could use a break (and he noticed Alfonso in the process of moving to protect Linn) he stabbed at the mage to get his attention off of Zeff. He hit the man hard but not hard enough it seemed as the man cast a weak jolt towards him. Ernce avoided the majority of the spell but still received some damaged from the shock. Pointing his sword towards Tyrus, he continued, "Prepare yourself." Zeff wasn't stupid however, and he was well aware that he had no standing against such a well-trained militant. The best he hoped to achieve was distract him long enough so his comrades could remain unscathed. Drawing his sword back, he sprinted forward, going for a full frontal assault. Perhaps is his sword was sturdier he would have been able to pierce through the armor, but alas, it left nary a scratch on it. Zeff in return, received a counterattack from the pommel of Tyrus's sword. It was almost as if the commander was toying with him. [spoiler=Whyrus] Alternate Reality: "Oh, you must be commander Tyrus. She desperately tried to stop the ringing in her hands. The scout, annoyed by the attempt on his life, charged Raelyn. Blood splattered on the ground - her blood. "I'm taking you to hell with me," she growled, as she charged again. This time, her sword hit his flesh. Unfortunately, he had done far more damage to her than she did to him. Quickly reaching for the leather-wrapped shield secured to his belt he put it between himself and the incoming magic spell. To his relief his plan worked, the spell's power was lessened but it came with a cost; the leather was burnt by the spell and it fell from the shield. Having never looked at the shield without the wrapping Ernce was astonished at what he saw; so astonished he never saw the ball of light heading straight towards him until it was too late. "I didn't want to go... like my old man," his mind managed to process before everything went black. [spoiler=Desertion] Desertion. Ernce'd entertained the thought from time to time since returning from the mission that day. He hadn't once looked at the shield; preferring to keep it wrapped in it's package so to speak. The more he'd thought on desertion the better it seemed, despite the fact he'd be on the run until he left Celisa. It wasn't like he had anything or anyone to leave behind anyway; everything he owned had gone up in flames along with his home and parents, the only things that had kept him in the service in the first place. With the only people he sought to please dead and burned to ashes he saw no reason to stay. However, there was another reason; a reason he'd sooner die than tell anyone. He was afraid. Afraid of dying in a war he didn't start, afraid of the expectations his family had unknowingly put on his shoulders and afraid of the pity he would receive if he resigned. "If I deserted I'd be free from all those things!" he'd thought naively. Yes, desertion was clearly the best option... Surely better than taking the last thing that he called his own away from him. The pain wasn't unbearable, and soon he opened his eyes again and returned his stance. "Hah! My grandma hit me harder than that! Get some... uh, 'mind muscles', and try again next lifetime!" Alfonso taunted, returning to his previous position for the sake of protecting Linn again, he wasn't all that sure she was safe yet. Alfonso defends Linn! //For the clever opponent, injure increase! It was painful to watch her blade bounce off her opponent so feebly, her enemy was indeed potent. The priest approached her after her assault, offering his healing support. "That was rather unfortunate, but at least you shall live to strike once more!" Aeson reassured her, beginning his magic thing. These people certainly were strange. Fighting demons one day, searching an abandoned village the next. Aeson heals Raelyn for 5! Raelyn 4/12 -> 9/12HP 3 points... triangles?
