It's just that breeding for IVs and egg moves can be a long and tedious process. It's only hard if you don't have the resources to do so. If you have a 6 IV ditto, it's not too hard. If you're starting with power items, it's a huge pain, though you probably already know this. :P This is why I'm not breeding anymore until Pokebank comes (except for maybe pinsir).
