Reasons for missing class

I just need some quick statistics for my management class assignment.

I'd appreciate it if you'd take a moment to answer a quick question.

This question is directed toward those who have attempted, are currently attending, or have attended college.

> If you have, for any reason, missed class, what were your reasons for being absent?

No limit for reasons; just list as many as you can think of.

This can include mundane things like sickness, studying for tests in other classes, playing hooky, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Finanical difficulty

Threats to ones life

Family drama/emergency

Spouse distractions

Sickness

Doctor appointment

Sleeping in/over slept

No way to get to class(car broke down, etc)

Note: I don't know if you wanted them all to pertain to me, I've only missed class once.

Thanks bunches, guys. o 3o~

I'll add my own reasons.

> overslept/alarm didn't go off/forgot to set alarm
> sick/ill
> didn't feel like it/class not important enough to care
> project/paper due for another class
> test in another (more important) class to study for

> car broke down

> weather
> forgot about lab

> family emergency

> waiting for some important appointment or another

That too

I had a Computer Engineering Lab that I never went to because I could do everything I was required to do in that lab from my dorm, and they didn't take attendance.

Federal-funded university or something, so they get money based on attendance. Thus, they're pretty strict about it. :E

Okay.

I go to a public college as well but 90% of my professors don't take attendance.

Almost always being too sick, although the most recent (which was back in April) was due to a death in the family. But otherwise I always show up to class.

Instructor's incompetence, in the sense that they read directly off the slides in a bland, uninteresting tone. Therefore I can just read the material and download the lecture.

It's happened before, and ironically, that was my winning class that semester mark wise, despite the fact that I only really went to the first week's lectures.
