BTW are you cool with these rules?

-No Ubers (Finn, Galzus, Mareeta, Nanna, Delmud)

-No cheap weapons (Holsety, Blizzard, Sleep/Berserk Swords)

-Prayer can only successfully activate once per round of combat

And what are your take on boosters and custom skills?

Sure. How about custom skills, however many boosters there are that aren't in the secret shops? Someone has a list somewhere.

I'm good with custom skills. Also for booster that are not in the secret shop.

2x life ring (MHP +7)
2x speed ring (spd +3)
3x shield ring (def +2)
2x skill ring (skl +3)
3x magic ring (mag +2)
2x luck ring (luk +3)
1x body ring (bld +3)

1x power ring (str +3)

do the two skills include or exclude class skills (i.e., adept on SMs and sages)?

also i have no idea if the skill limit is necessary. my impression is that stacking sol, adept, miracle, and nihil on a hero bow user could be kind of dumb, but nihil is a pretty strong skill in this environment.

I think it should be 2 skills excluding, because that would nerf any class with Continue which isn't THAT great of a skill? I'm assuming weapon skills don't count either.

EDIT And then there's those units who naturally have a bunch of skills...maybe just not have the limit and see if it needs to be banned?

- 2 skills, excluding class-specific skills and skills granted by weaponry

- 1 skill, excluding character-innate skills and skills granted by weaponry

also keep in mind that the luna and sol manuals are mutually exclusive.

Yeah, seems to be the case.

It hasn't occurred to me that stacking too many skills on the same unit in FE5 could be broken considering the rest of the party then misses out on said skills.

- 2 skills, excluding class-specific skills and skills granted by weaponry

- 1 skill, excluding character-innate skills and skills granted by weaponry

also keep in mind that the luna and sol manuals are mutually exclusive.

Yeah, I'll try to get my team chugged out tonight. Got this CS assignment that needs finishing, but after that, FE5 team! Best of luck to the both of us but mostly me I really want to win!

you guys might want to impose a limit on the number of skills a unit can have, maybe. once you've agreed on the rules, go ahead and send me a PM.

Posting to say I've moved all this thread's info to the LA sticky. The current topic's OP has been re-designed to focus on announcements, mechanics-related workshops and discussions (including rules I guess) and an archive of the games that took place in this topic. I added the first mechanic-related problems that I could think of.

GBA Mechanic:

Axereaver > Lancereaver > SwordSlayer/reaver, the nonreaver hitrates applied for each holder (±15 HIT ±1 DMG when Reaver VS Reaver)

So the news is that Deadeye's accuracy bonus isn't affected by Nihil (not sure about Parity... might test that too).

Currently testing if Nihil can perhaps nullify Parity. Calill targeting a boss with Parity does cause her to flash light blue, indicating that she's reacting to the skill. I gave her Adept so let's see if that can proc (pretty sure Adept can proc with a siege tome).

Reading all the tournament battles is making me pumped to get back into this. I'm going on leave for one of my jobs for a while, but I'll be pretty busy with school and partying over the break for a while yet. I think I can probably get back into hosting in about two weeks. Also elie (if it was him) was right about fe7!reavers. They use the normal weapon triangle against each other (axereaver beats lancereaver), with normal weapon triangle bonuses.

The results of the testing:

Rickard w/ Parity vs. Calill w/ Nihil+Adept

Calill activates Nihil, nullifying Parity. She can now proc Adept (20% chance but I needed like 30 attempts to finally see it... wow).

Rickard w/ Parity vs. Calill w/ Adept (Nihil removed)

Rickard activates Parity and Calill cannot use Adept anymore.

So what this means is that Nihil users trump Parity users every time, and supportless Parity users that some people, myself included, have taken a liking to, will not be able to shut down Nihil+Resolve and similar skill builds.

I hope Parity is still kind of an inferior Nihil that also affects supports, and I don't have to test there's anything more to it.

Going to update the OP about the new info on Parity and Deadeye, regardless.
