Julius Nepos Posted November 11, 2017 Share Posted November 11, 2017 the dwarves also don't flee because they are sturdy of body and hardy of mind; and the masks and helms they wear instill fear in their enemies and protect them from the flames of the balrogs and the dragons now a great host of dwarves surrounds glaurung and start attacking him with their axes the armor of a dragon is very thick, but this onset of the axes of the dwarves even glaurung cannot resist so he starts beating around him and breathing fire like mad then he strikes azaghâl lord of belegost to the ground, but as he hovers over him to kill him, azaghâl draws a knife and drives it deep into the dragon's belly if only azaghâl had carried a sword that day, then he would have pierced the dragon deep enough to kill him and much woe that afterwards befell would have been prevented but now glaurung flees even as azaghâl dies from his wounds the dwarves then stop fighting and start slinging a slow chant in their secret tongue they lift up azaghâl and bear him away in a funerary procession so intimidating is that sight that none of the enemy dare assail them Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
