The only reason I opened it was because I had the dlc for it already. If you don't have much time left, I wouldn't be trying to play a Tales game, unless you plan to sit down with it and nothing else. With Symphonia, don't let the open field in battle fool you, there is no legitimate free run. Movement is as linear as the old Tales games. Will focus on ToS since it takes much more effort to play the JP-version of ToV. Will try out ToX2 a little bit, but only to check out the gameplay. I can't say anything about the "old" Tales games, becauseToS is the oldest one of the series I own. ;w; ToV... ... the JP-version though. It's a little bit difficult to solve the puzzles without any JP knowledge. The battle system works for me for the most part even without understanding one single word Japanese, because I can read the numbers and know the icons from the other parts.
