If I want to complain, it's about the uncertain date for the end of my contract, but that honestly seems to be something my boss doesn't have any say in, so I don't really have any recourse besides knowing that any day I could get an unpleasant conversation about how I've got two weeks left, but we'd love to have you back next year when the work picks back up again. (Or however things like that end up going. I'm working almost entirely off my imagination here.) Nope, that game is the one thing that if I never TL anything else in my life, I could die happy having done. That's excellent... well except the contract ending part. And I was about to ask why is the contract ending? Regular process for employees or some other factor? When I was hired in June, I was asked basically "There's a spot on the TRG team that opens June 8th and should run through the end of September, or you could wait until August 3rd when the functional team starts, and that should run through to November. Which do you want?" It's now the end of November and I'm still with TRG. At the end of September boss was like, "We gotta trim back on hours and stuff, but we've still got projects so we'll be playing things by ear." A couple of guys were transferred to functional and the rest of us have stayed on, for now. I just feel insecure, you know? The not knowing is really the worst part. Yeah, I've got the prologue, and a bit of the first chapter worked on, I don't see the point in bringing somebody on to tell me where I done goofed until they've got a large chunk they can read through.
