But with their work pretty much forced to rollback quite a bit, it will take until Alpha 3 for them to try something again. NERV itself is still finished though. Place gets sealed up and the staff sans Fuyutsuki gets reassigned to the Macross. One thing that makes me curious though, and I don't think this game will answer that (Alpha 3 most likely will, but I haven't read that up yet), is Gendo's own Third Impact plans. At this point both he and Rei are AWOL until Alpha 3. And thankfully I never upgraded her own EVA because it means that after dozens of stages, loosing a unit means... well, all that money is now gone. It's certainly annoying when you have a unit you could've used for a good chunk of the game... and then find out said unit leaves and never comes back and if you had planned to use that unit to the very end of the game... well, you're out of luck. Thankfully, I didn't. But on any future playthroughs if I want to use Rei, I'll be sure to keep in mind her eventual departure. Anyway... onward to Stage 65.
