On the other hand, College is instead a substitute for School, but I think that's more of a regional thing. Like Castillian vs LA Spanish, and that sort of differences. But again, it can also be a regional thing. I think over in the Platine Region they use the actual English word College for Universities as well, as an option. I use those turn of phrase because I'm a native French speaker and 'université' is the French term for college/university. 'Collège' is more often used for high schools and CÉGEPs.
