I've thought it most likely means that the game as-is if shown to a present-day audience, they'd have trouble getting the hang of it or something. Even saying that doesn't make the game "age", we already know hardware limitations, denying the fact is foolhardy, so you can't say the game "aged" badly when all you had to work in was a small space... so to speak. Having said that I know some older games that have more depth, better gameplay, and better handling(for lack of a better term) than modern games... that's beside the point though. To give an example, I swear I've seen this... a person goes from playing a playstation 3 game of a certain series, goes back to an snes game in the same series... and complains about what the Snes version lacks compared to the ps3 game...
