But I guess I can see how the concepts are applied to the movies. It would be interesting to try to watch a new genre though! Is his name Akira Kurosawa? I'm glad we're in agreement. Yup, just turn lords into daimyos and kings into shoguns, or something like that, and voila. That's him. Though he's not the only jidaigeki director, he's probably the most famous Japanese director, and as far as I know, the only one to adapt Shakespeare plays.
